Auburn was rated #6 in the nation when we beat them in their backyard. They had Cadillac Williams. He was the sec’s premier we held to a minimum number of yards, the next week he ran wild over a sec team, so we had an excellent defense.
We had a rookie quarterback Lienart, which threw his first pass to our wide receiver Williams for a touch down. This showed that we could score on the mighty defense of the sec.

That 4 was Arkansas, Auburn, UGA, and Tennessee and it was very lopsided with a 13-2 record together. The next 4 that composed of Bama, South Carolina, Florida, and LSU, USC is 4-8-1. They only dominated 4 SEC teams tremendously instead of all of the SEC teams they played, but hey at the end, its the SEC as a whole. Not 4 teams.

SEC is definitely the best conference right now, but USC is the best team of all time. They have more NFL Hall of Famers than any school, and theres more to come (eg Junior Seau, Troy Polamalu) etc. The only SEC school really in the conversation being on USC's par is Bama. Just saying, throughout history, USC is definitely top 5 or even number 1 program ever. They are a bit down right now though but if u look at the entire history, it's USC all up in ya earholes.

USC fans like you are the ones discounting the 2004 Auburn team. Auburn had a different OC than in 2003. Al Borges really helped Jason Campbell's development out. If you look at his numbers in 2003 and 2004, you'd see he was a lot better QB in 2004.

Sure, strength of schedule is always something to have faith in, but you have to prove it too beyond your conference. That's what truly sets you from the fold. SEC is a powerhouse, but only less that half your conference falls into that mold. Slightly better than the Big 12, Pac 10, and ACC, but nothing to get to zealous over.

We have to beat 8 of the best teams in the country just for a shot at the SEC title. Last year 11 of the top 40 defense were SEC...ELEVEN!!! we only have 12 schools. Thje REAL REASON why LSU got in the NC game in the 2007 season is because Missouri lost to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game and West Virginia was shocked by their arch-rival Pitt in the Backyard Brawl. Along with LSU having 2 OVERTIME games(which LSU lost) against their SEC foes, Kentucky and Arkansas.

Lesson Number ONe - Louisiana Tech beats UAT at homecoming during the Dubose era; Lesson Number Two - Louisiana - Monroe = loss at homecoming in 2007. Virginia Tech lead USC 10-7 at halftime in Kickoff Classic in 2004. In the Sugar Bowl, Virginia Tech never lead Auburn. How is it possible that Va. Tech lead the ESPN dubbed "greatest team of all-time" at halftime yet never lead Auburn?
Auburn-USC could have been one of the best game's of all-time but we'll never know because the BCS took out strength of schedule in 2004 which could have helped Auburn.

And by the way since you're talkin' about USC playing VT at VT stadium in 04', what happened to USC when they couldn't even beat Texas in the Rose Bowl(in 2005) which is a 15 min drive from USC's campus.
People always whined about LSU's advantage playing in the dome(Superdome), but they never mentioned USC's advantage playing in Pasadena and losing to a sandlot type team.

He said, USC dominated the "SEC" not Alabama...And the last time I checked Alabama isn't the SEC, it's one team in the SEC and USC has beaten SEC teams 17-10-1. It would have been a lot more if the SEC would have agreed to play USC as a non-conference opponent in the Peter Carroll era...But they all said "No" every year, when Carroll called them...Look at the SEC non-conference schedules...all Div II teams. UAT plays about as weak a schedule as you can play when they play Georgia State, UT-Chattanooga, Arkansas State, Lousiana - Monroe (which defeated the Crimson Turds in 2007), and Kent State to open next season. Before you discuss who has a better record, you need to examine who plays whom outside of their conference.
