The air intake on those Cherokees aren't in a good location from the factory for lots of water splashing up... just a FYI. And there is the wonderful Defender 90 pulling it out! Too bad they don't sell the real Land Rovers here in the states!
somethin i learned the hard way... once you kill the engine, keep in mind water and oil dont mix, let it sit for a day (the oil and water will separate) then drain all the oil out, the water should follow, put in some new oil and hopefully it'll turn over....
That... was hysterical. And a VERY bad idea. Too bad there are too many regulations in the UK. If I brought my Cherokee there. It would devastate most off roading vehicles there. lol. Other than a tank.
So did you hydrolock it and crack the engine block or is it okay now? Before I had my Snorkel I sucked up a BUNCH of water in my XJ and it actually survived it!!
A Snorkel is an absolute MUST HAVE for cherokee XJ's. Mainly cause their air intake is RIGHT behinde the headlight...and when you drop into high water it just sucks it in like a vacuum.
After a few hours of tinkering time Emptying water from places water shouldnt be, like in the cylinders and inside the starter motor, alternator and other componants, it fired up with lots of condensation, Its alive and well :)
