Well in WW2 the japanese said that they could take China in just 3 months. Moreover, the strength ratio of our troops to chinese was approx. 1:3. So a fully armed Chinese army defeated a poorly armed Indian army, but still, they had to pay a heavy price for this victory. After that, there have been 2 more skirmishes between Indian and chinese troops - one in 1968, and other in 1985 - on both occasions, India made china retreat.
