I have the feeling when we win that # may change. Wireless workers were intimidated into not going union. My hats off to the 70 Brave union wireless workers in NY !
The general public needs to know that, although there are indeed "45,000 Verizon workers on strike" - there are another 145,000 NOT on strike. The striking workers are by far the minority in the company.
@rdweldy2 but they are the ones that do the bulk of the work. I don't understand when you say the general public needs to know that. All I know is that I called up to get my Fios repaired and they gave me an appointment 3 weeks out. I guess one of the 145,000 other employees don't know how to fix Fios. The minority in the company is the CEO who makes $55,000 a day. He is only one person so you can't do a numbers comparison....
@itlbgood Wow. They do the "bulk of the work" ?? So the other 145,000 - the ones in the profitable sides of the company - are being carried by the union workers? Do the union workers know how to do the jobs of those 145,000 other employees? Because if that's the case, why doesn't the union just start its own telecommunications business and show Verizon how it's done?
