Sorry am posting on phone so it just screwd up:P but yeah like I was saying:P this is a really inspiring video for me... iv always wanted to play the Cello with that same style that you play... and hopefully i might be starting soon if we can afford the cello itself and the right teacher:) I just had to ask is there any advice you can give to someone just starting the cello? @236Robertw thanks alot, wish you best of luck with the cello. I think i might actually be the closest right teacher for you if you want to play pop/rock instead of classical. There really arent many pop/rock teachers around. Never met or heard of anyone except myself.. I created blues/based pop/rock music playing technique for the cello, cello is difficult, pop cello is ULTRA difficult but learning blues-based stuff both hands is the KEY.I´d recommend you start with classical teacher /basics.

ill check the web for your Album..21 years is a long time to be playing. In the beggining did you start out with traditional lesson??with sheet music?? A pop master course would be FANTABULOUS!! but im probably a couple years away from being ready for that..im still a novice..also, ive notice you always have an ear piece in, what is this for?? and are you playing a tradiotional cello because i thought i saw a wire pluged in. THX for responding its appreciated. i really love playing

@qwiktune9 I started traditional, but i was taugh polish cello school instead of finnish (my cello teacher was from Poland). I have a professional classical cellists degree, so i started with the sheets and all, haha, and went for it even though i never cared for classical music. It just never touched me. I´m playing a trad cello in the videos, except end-part of Calif where i have Barcus Berry piezo/pedal attached to it for very small "punch" effect. The feeling comes from fingers, not pedals.

@qwiktune9 the only way to teach playing this is i can teach you... i´m a pop rock cello teacher. There is something fundamentally different about playing real pop music on the cello... learning sheet music wouldnt help you much. And i never use notes myself. Ask your local music organizers if they want to have me teach on a pop master course or something like that. would love to come to teach you. I have one (old) solo album from 2006 "Break Point" check my website
