@PureInsanity6 Hold it more often. Don't give it too many hiding spots. If there are to many when he's still young he'll develop aggression, but he may not. It all depends on the skink. But I find the best way is to handle it.

that's a really nice blue you have, i treat mine to strawberries and bannanas, i may try eggs sometime. I do have a problem with mine, he doesn't seem to eat veggies all that much, i've tried feeding him corn, peas, i've also researched they eat some fowers too. it would be appreciated if you could help me with getting my skink to eat veggies, it's worrying he wont eat a major part of his diet.

@schristhekiss Hi, The egg is more of a treat to be honest. Best to keep the treats to a minimum, such as once a week. Mine is mainly fed on insects (mainly locusts, morio worms and snails). Obviously they need the fruit and veg aswell.

@bl1nd88 You DO NOT want to just feed whites. It's better to feed either just the egg yolk or egg with yolk. Egg whites fed on their own can give the animal a Biotin deficiency.

well for the most part animals like this skink.

these skinks have powerful crushing jaws. eggs and snails seem to be a favored food. when you think about it eggs may be the largest easy meal wild skinks find.

monitors will eat them too. as will most any lizard in this size range. small wild bird eggs are great. iguanas will also bird eggs, but these should be a rare treat to captive iguanas.

@BlueTongueDan I've taken a number of tag bites off of my Bluetongue since I got it. Mines is roughly 1 foot in length. Taking a bite from him isn't that bad, to be honest. Its kindof like getting bitten by a really big leopard gecko. Their teeth are little and rough, they can scratch skin with their teeth, but they won't do any real damage. : ) Its really just like a strong pinch.

mine bluff strikes if mad or upset. i only get bit when he mistakes a finger for food.

if anything they will piss/shit on you.

Havent taken a bite off mine since that last comment. I've been using tongs and although he still gets excited when he gets like chicken roll or something, he doesnt go for fingers anymore.
