The Soul Sessions was brilliant. It all went downhill when she started writing her own songs. She just isn't a songwriter.

I disagree with you. Soul Sessions was brilliant, but her lyrics are amazing. Look at a song like "Governmentalist," on Colour Me Free:

Joss is, in my opinion, the most honest and talented artist making music today. She's got that special something that comes once every few generations. She's got music in her soul.
