"The real cost is what we take from a mother, who is left with just a memory. And a neatly folded flag in a clear plastic case." So simple, so true, and yet hardly ANY of our elected officials understand the HUMAN COST OF WAR!
@jsmith2144 He was saying we have done what we said we would and now it should be over. Has nothing to do with when and where. The war should be over.
I'm thankful for the invention of nuclear weapons because if it wasn't for mutually assured destruction I know that my country would be in an even worse situation with another first world country.
Its the exact same on this side of the world - Our Gov are sending money to countries where the leaders are corrupt whilst ppl here are struggling to feed their family. Cameron is far too focused on looking good around the world than ensuring the needs of the English tax payers are met!!!!
The hypocrisy makes me sick as the country fills with immigrants who then use our weak legislation to protect their human rights at major cost to the man in the street. I fear for the ppl who struggle already
There have been private groups that came to the conclusion that for 4 billion dollars we could implement an infrastructure program in Afghanistan to put the whole country to work. As far as our troops dying, well that's the risk you run when you sign up to be a murderer. As for the 1 million people that have been killed and the 1 million widows, and 5 million orphans they did not ask to be occupied my sympathy is with them. If you support the troop you support tyranny and imperialism.
Good thing he said it three times. Otherwise god would've said fuck the troops. Even if you said it two full times and then "God plee...", he still woulda said fuck the troops. It's the final "s" sound of the third utterance that clinched it. You gotta say it three times for God to care. It's in the Bible.
I thought there was a separation of church & state. He can pray all he likes for soldiers at home, and as prayer is absolutely useless anyway, why waste the time when there is other business?
@Shellshock1918 First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
@Ohrela Good job on quoting the First Amendment. But a Congressman acknowledging God is not passing a law saying the government says there is a God. Read it again "Congress shall write no law.." not "No member of Congress shall acknowledge a belief in a God or religion..."
@Shellshock1918 I wouldn't argue that he has the right to express his beliefs, he is not only not prevented from doing so but is protected by the first amendment to do so. Separation of Church and state is the interpretation to not make a law for the purpose of imposing those beliefs on a people. Most of this country doesn't care, they have been brainwashed into having the values of their slave masters, but to say that separation of church and state isn't in the constitution isn't correct.
@Ohrela It is not in the Constitution. It only says Congress shall write no law establishing religion or restricting its practice. States actually had the freedom to establish religion under the Constitution; Massachusetts had state sponsored churches in the early post-ratification period.
To say that a Congressman doesn't have the right to acknowledge God is just wrong. He absolutely has that right, he has no right to force that belief on anyone else through legislation.
@Shellshock1918 Let me quote myself since apparently you missed what I said "I wouldn't argue that he has the right to express his beliefs, he is not only not prevented from doing so but is protected by the first amendment to do so." Where did I say that a congressman doesn't have the right to acknowledge God? If you think life is confined to Christian or any other religion that is fine, but separation of Church and State is to protect me from a law being passed that imposes that belief on me.
@Shellshock1918 Are you reading what I am writing? Does anyone else see how I have agreed repeatedly with the premise that any congressman has the right to express his or her religious beliefs while addressing congress? Is it possible that you have the capacity to write but not read, because I really can't understand why you keep trying to convince of something that I have already agreed with?
@Ohrela I've read it, I don't know, it's clearly his own choice to pray in public, but I bet many others in the congress would save their prayers for their own privacy, and when they close the door behind them, if they have that need at all. One can't really pray on the behalf of others. I think the fact that he repeats three times 'god please' is almost like begging, while someone else would argue in a way, which makes the reason to beg quite obvious, or rather the ones who will beg.
@forugh3 If there is justice. That's not what comforts me. I like the language of the law, and congressmen like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich have made it quite obvious that some people in Washington should be and should have been impeached and tried.
@forugh3 We are not building mansions in the sky. We are already there, and some people are spreading hell on this earth. All of this is unfair and the crime has been committed already.
@forugh3 If he really believed in his prayer he would do it behind closed doors Matthew 6:5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
@Shellshock1918 He can freely express his religion, but the point is the whole mess, the killing of innocent is an action of MEN. YOUR fucking men. You are insulting GOD by asking GOD to fix problem created by MEN.
Your country lacks faith, your country starts war and your country kills, and now you ANNOY the hack out of God by asking HIM to stop YOUR fucking war? You don't have to have a faith to be fucking annoyed by these hypocrite.
@Wordavee1 You are allowed to pray in a government building dumbass. Founding principles...learn them. What you can't do is make people pray in a government building which is not what he is doing.
it seems to me that too many people think that it's only a tragedy if an American's killed.
what about Afghans that r fighting the invaders that is propping up a corrupt government and making the drug trade boom? target practice?
what about those that were killed for fun, joy, laughter, photographs/videos and then have weapons planted on their corpses? entertainment? stress relief?
I agree with most of what this congressman had to say except his silly appeals to a nonexistent sky troll. I wish this guy would have left his stupid superstitions outside the operations of my government.
If you’re planning to vote for Dr Paul, in 2012 you’ll have to register Republican. Whenever Dr Paul runs for president, the RINOs in the GOP organize closed ballot primaries (this means you have to be registered with the party to vote for party members, and you can always CANCEL your membership afterwards) to isolate Ron Paul’s support. This man is our only hope. If you agree, please copy & paste this in every Ron Paul video you see on youtube.
@SkidRowRadio i've reached the conclusion, that when someone's believes in whatever spirituality [dont matter which] and they decide its fake or whatever, they still keep worshipping anyway bc they want to go where ever their deceased family members went.
@iWASbeingModest yup. probably right. i'd also suggest that they keep on pretending to believe cos its a status thing.. like owning a car or a house, you gotta have god in your life or you just dont fit the mould.

As fare as we can see .. IF GOD BLESSED America ( Americans ) None of this would happened . To see Educated peoples ( Politicians,Soldiers, civilians ) Asking " GOD PLEASE" is so sad ... that why they will keep fucking us as deep possible because .. THEY " the criminals" Are not delusional, they have been smart enough to understand that there is NO GOD and keep us believing there is a god let continue what they do best .. fucking everyone. drop primitives religion and we should have peace.
They will never leave. Over a year ago the U.S. stated that they didn't want China to get hold of the 4-5 trillion dollars of mineral ores that are in the mountains. There is also hundreds of billions of dollars of oil untapped in the ground as well. The C.I.A. won't leave there opium cash crop to be burnt up by the Taliban.
This War destroys the economy, kills massive amounts of civillians, kills lots of US soldiers, creates terrorism, and is putting us into more and more debt.
