For all the trash talking it's a great series, and it's really too bad that ND will only agree to continue it until 2011, having backed out of the previous contract that ran to 2013. But ND is ND and it is clear that they want to play their usual suspect rivals and a bunch of beatable teams. And BC has proven not to be beatable, so the only two Div 1-A Catholic schools playing football will not have a permanent rivalry. Really too bad, and a bad call by ND's AD.

We really don't need ND at all. The ACC is strong enough to make any member (even Duke if they want to start playing real football) viable, and it looks like we'll be replacing ND with USC. I have nothing against ND, though I think you have to be a bit off to voluntarily choose to spend four years in South Bend, Indiana.

I believe once BC releases them from their contract. Good luck against Bowling Green, Army and UMass. BC has built whatever minimal heritage it has on beating up weak sisters (and losing to Miami and PSU). But beating that 5-loss Miami monster in '84 was awesome. Same with spoiling ND's 1993 title run. It was also an epic win over Navy in the bowl game last year. I hope the players tore up enough turf to remember it.
