  • so jews still sing for Yemen even thu they have migrated to the zionist state!? thats strange and interesting

  • alio3875

    are you iraqi?

  • You wont believe how many Israeli singers sing in Arabic and in Hebrew. This is just one of them

  • no its not strange its our tradition 2 sing in yemenite in weddings and stuff

  • No one is "forced" to marry anyone hajeji. Israel is a free country, Yeminis can marry morrocans, syrians, russians, blacks, whoever they wish.

  • there is nothing like jewish race...its an religion nothing more....send the russian jews back to russia, germans beck to germany, yemenis back to yemen....

    and everything would be ok

  • and you can go to hell

  • so why? pathetic idiot....

  • can ne1 tell me the name or artist of this song? i neeeed to get ittt

  • zion golan- sana al yemen :)

  • loolz that guy looked funny as hell singin but they sounded really nice

  • Guys can you stop blaberring and enjoy the music?.

Does anyone know where can I download this song? your help is appreciated.

  • This is of course correct, Hebrews came to Yemen first

in abot the year 600 B.C.E thats 2600 years ago! They influenced the Arab Himyarite and other tribal populations who later converted circa 300-400 C.E. and intermarried with them. Thus Yemeni Jews and Muslims have common ancestry.

  • blood samples were taken from Yemeni musims in yemen and yemeni jews in yemen and Isarel that didn't intermarry. Guess what the results were ! Are you guys ready for this ! THEY HAD THE SAME BLOOD TYPE! meaning at one time or another they came from the same tribe. This is common knowledge among anyone who reads. But nevertheless many of my yemeni muslim brothers are surprised at this !

  • what do you mean by blood type? DNA? because blood types in the general sense (a, b, o, ab) have some universal qualities

  • DNA of course, the results showed that at one time or another the linage of both peoples intersects. The same tests were done to see if Morroccan Jews were similar to Morroccan muslims, Iraqi Jews to Iraqi muslims etc., etc and again they had the same results.

  • I am not yemeni but a freind from somalia who used to live in Yemen told me that jews in the north were the most protected people on the earth... I do not know the fact

  • if they are the most protected people on earth why did they have to run away to a hotel in San'a for fear of their lives. I call on all Yemenis both Jewish and Muslim to demand that the government and the local leaders allow the Jews to reside in their homes without threats!

  • There are no "forced" marriages in israel. I do not know where you get this idea from. Citizenship is guaranteed to all jews and they don't have to marry to get this. People can marry whoever they want.

  • Ya its about like bettween the hundreds but how many percent of the yemenite jews converted to islam

  • i didnt say all the jews, i said 45. but i heard only 200-300, 600-800 seems a bit high because some have converted to islam.

  • it was in the gulfnews, haaretz, ynet, among others. If you goto google, type "yemen jews news" without the quotes and you will see. Supposidly Saleh will do something, but we'll see. I suppose in the region of hate that exists on both sides, it will be tough. The middle east in general needs a new mentality. From Morroco to Iran and including Israel and Yemen.

  • Today 45 Jews still living in Yemen in Saada have been forced to move into a hotel in San'a because a militant sheikh from saada threatened to kill them if they did not leave

  • how did you find out about this? Thats terrible! I will pray for them! Whats President Saleh doing about it?

  • Man there is more than 45 jews in yemen there is maybe like 600 or 800

  • not a sheikh. it's an outlaw from the Shiite group (something like hezbullah) who is practically in a war with the governoment. the governoment is providing all support to the yemeni jews.

  • Do yemenite jews live in isreal or palestine and do the yemenites support zionists??

  • There is a difference between supporting the regime, and supporting Jews living in the Land of Israel. I won't speak for all of yemenite jews, but regardless if you support the government or not, we live in Israel now, so we love our home, not our government.

  • well u have to knwo that my dad was born in aden yahood and he lived very nice thank god but tiem are rough over ther enow for jews they cant own land in most parts and they need a visa to leave there towbn and to go to major citys this is true bc i know people to tried to vist there family and they tried to take the family out of the towna nd they could not leave

it a big probalom over there now more info let me know

  • Nice video for more on Yemeni issues

  • It is well known thet Jews in Yemen could not: build higher houses than the Muslims, Build higher Synagouges than the Mosques, all had to be significantly lower. They were not allowed to ride on donkeys and had to step in the alley when a muslim passed while bowing to him. The Jews of Yemen suffered severe persecution, although some Imams like Imam Yichya treated the Jews comparatively better than most Imams,Emirs and Sultans.

  • if you have no problem with the Yemeni Jews why then did you say that they were your "puppets", why did u treat them that way, and if that was the case are u surprised that they ran away. In regards to Israel even the koran says that the Jews have a right to the land.

  • excuse me, i stated the facts, the yemeni jews had always feared my tribe and did everything we told them to hence we call them puppets. But the jews were sensible enough not to cause trouble coz they know they would be outnumbered. When they ran away they though they are getting a better deal (they were never forced)- so their land were taken by other clans.

  • Oh and the jews already had land and a home all over the middle east, especially iraq and yemen, but since they were greedy, they lost out.

  • jews in yemen never owned land, they could live on the land by the grace of the imam, my family came from Ba'adan, many jews lived in Taiz, Aden, Chaban and the Sharab region, many jews lived in the south and we are not forced to marry anyone

  • i'm from ba'adan. my grandma told me that the jews used to live in much much better conditions than muslims

  • Im sorry to contradict you but My grandmother who was also from Ba'adan and was the granddaughter of the leader of the Jews there Mori Salem Ibrahim told me that her family all with the rest of the Jews lived constantly on the verge of starvation and they expirienced severe poverty. Mori Ibrahim and alot of his family died of hunger and disease, They most certainly didnt live better than the muslims who placed alot of restrictions on them.

  • as a matter of fact, all yemenis regardless of their religion during imams' era were in utmost poverty. jews were dealing with silver and stuff like that. they are still remembered with all respect

  • It is true what you are saying, Jews In San'a Dhamar Shibum and Cawcaban amongst other places were gold and silver smiths, my family were coffee merchants. While life was far from easy the Jews of Yemen were allowed to practice their religon freely with a few exceptions and were gratefull for that fact. The christians however were never able to live in any significant number in Yemen execpt of course under the British Aden protectorate

  • add to that the fact that yemen was a jewish state prior to islam. in other words, yemenis were jews before converting to islam

  • Yeah Everyone had it tough in the past Jews and Muslims.

  • True, well not all Yemenis were jews before converting to Islam. Dhu Nuwass, the Jewish king of Yemen persecuted Christians in Yemen in retaliation for Byzantine persacution of Jews, so some Yemenis had to have been christian. Nevertheless, once Islam arrived, most joined it.

  • wow very greed a tiny land barely the size of new jersey, oh and we only lived in yemen as long or longer than your ancestors hajeji, we dont have a right to land too? look at the yemen times jews in yemen are second class citizens. The singers's parents were born in Yemen.

  • Oh No! Is it another civil war? What? Hey c'mon... Whats the use of fightin for a piece of junk land? Yemen, is like the poorest in the Mid-East. And is under the 50 most poorest countriesin UN.

  • True, Yemen is economically poor, but it has the most richest landscapes in the world. Take the Gulf countries, they are economically rich, but landwise, they are harsh, dry and hot. Not on my next destination!

  • I would really like to visit Yemen one day, how much does accomodations cost? If you can give me info I'd really appreciate it

  • Lachooch, I have been there 3 times already. I don't know the flight prices now. But, I paid about $1100 for a 2-way ticket in May 2005. I was there for 2 months. I spent no more than a $1000 on fun activities, other than that, I would've really spent less than $500 dollars for the entire 2 months. I highly suggest taking credit cards now that they're common over there. But always keep hard currency JUST in case. Go to the US Embassey, and they will help you from there as they helped me :)

  • There are jews still living in Yemen. Please try to distinguish between jews and zionists

  • "And thereafter We [Allah] said to the Children of Israel: 'Dwell securely in the Promised Land. And when the last warning will come to pass, we will gather you together in a mingled crowd.'" [Qur'an 17:104]

  • I soo agree with you. I think that is where the miscommunication is getting to Arabs. It does say in the Koran to respect people of the holy books!!

    SALAM 2 ALL

  • thank you for your comments, it seems that some people hate others without regard to reality, they hate for the sake of hating.

  • Lachooch, my grandmother told me we came from a region called Baydhaa near the city of Radaa, NOT Rayda. I think BOTH Muslim and Jewish Yemenites were dying of hunger and I know this for a fact because Yemen was the most primitive country in the world during the early 1900's. Imam Yehiya and Imam Ahmed (both Kings of Yemen) may have imposed certain restrictions on Jews, they still treated them with respect, to the extent of having certain Rabbis from San'a as guardians of the Yemeni Treasury!

  • Imams Yichya and Ahmed treated the Jews comparitively well. You know that Yemen was rarely stable in that there were competeing factions such as the Shaafis, Ismailis, Zaiydis including foreign Invasions, Turks, Eypt etc, The the Imams have ruled for hundreds of years indeed all Yemenis bothe Jewish and Muslim Suffered, but the Jews who were always the most visible minority in Yemen were the first to suffer in wars and instability as well as in harsh decrees by the Imams.

  • Muslim and Jewish Yemenies experienced good and bad events. Yemeni Jews are better off in Yemen, in my opinion. Walahi when I went to Yemen, I had my kippah on my head. I landed in San'a Airport and had NO visa or documents except my US passport. I was questioned for 3 minutes if I was Yemeni. I smiled and spoke some broken Arabic, but they understood. The Head of Security came smiling, helped with my luggage and escorted me to a taxi. Before I left, he said, "Welcome to your homeland."

  • That's soo sweet :)

  • wooooooooooooow

really nice this siger can sing in sananian accent very well

    and its really wonderful song

  • wowow

thise jwise still dreaming to come yemen back

    fuck offf

  • Yemen belongs to the Jews as much as it belongs to the muslims, we are the same people just different religons. Yemen was a Jewish kingdom before Islam. King Dhu Nawas was a jew. Who the hell are you to insult jews. You are Malaysian...worry about your own poor ignorant and backward people.I am Jewish and I will continue to be even if someone threatens me, however my family lived in Yemen for at least over two thousand years dont tell me to fuck off, YOU FUCK OFF go live in the Malay Jungle

  • hey i just wanna know ae the jews in isreal speak arabic and do they go and visit yemen and do they have relatives in yemen?

im asking too much questions because im just wodering

  • Most Jews who are Israeli citizens cannot go to Yemen, there is no relations with each other. And for Arabic, 90%+ know some arabic but basic words and slang words. But I would say probably 40%-50% can speak arabic okay or good. There is 2,500,000 Jews and their chilidren at least who came from Arab countries, the other 2.5 million from europe, and another million from everywhere else.

  • LooL. That was funny. I was just in Yemen and saw Jews, Christians, Chinese, Japanese, Africans, and much much more. Yemenies are well known for their hospitality. They don't bother anyone. You have ur occasional retart, but thats everywhere. You're cool with them, they're cool with u. No matter whats going on in politics.

    Peace to all

  • You can ignore Mwalad... People like these even annoy their own kind. I know because I was in a Yemeni channel once, thought it would be great to chat with other Yemenis from all around the world. And some couldn't stand the idea that I'm not living there and might be a bit different. But the rest were cool.

  • I liked alot.. if you are from sana'a that will mean to you alot.. the are so good.. the remind me Shama3ah...

  • I am from Sana'a the capital city of Yemen and what I found interesting is their tone of voice, natural and genuinely sanaani. How did they learn the sanaani words? Truly amazing

  • nice

    What is his name pls

  • this is a really old video from 80s or early 90s because the singer zion golan is around sixty now, and in this video he is in his late 30s or early 40s

  • 80's music rock ;)

  • very good song

  • yes yes. the concert was in israel Zion Golan mostly doesn't sing abroad and especially not in Yemen.... he has Israeli passport... sad...

  • I'm almost certain they sang in Israel

  • where did they sing this song ?was it in yemen on another country? can u tell me plzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • i want 2 know where they sung that song was it in yemen or another country

  • it's really a great yemeni song, please keep on it .

  • OMG I love this song , I am actually from Aden Yemen but I also love San3a and love it more coz he says he left his heart in Aden ! Its wallah so awesome especially when you are abroad and not in the loyal Yemen . This one and Bint al Yemen are my best songs from Zion , I always listen to them when I miss Yemen . Now I recorded this song and passed it to real audio so I can hear it anytime . LOVE YOU MY BELOVED YEMEN .

  • no matter what the religion is we still have the same love for YEMEN.

  • thats true man

  • the other guy messed up the song not the tall one the kinda fat one.

  • I still can't find that song anywhere... PLEASE HELP!!!!

  • Wow very nice song! Was he singing the song in Yemen although it was about Sana'a, Yemen?

  • Wow, Zion Golan is one of my favorite israeli singers. His voice is really powerful. I'm chilean, from south America, and I'm christian, but I love the Midle East music, specially when are artists very complete, like this yemeni jewish.

Is very sad that Yemen, a country pro-palestine, isn't a free country for jewish and christian.

    Regards Zion.

  • Hey, can someone please send me some temani music via email? post a message and let me know...thanks

  • btw foundbygod71 stop being so offended your acting like a 2 year old the person just wants to know probably cause there arent that many yemenites, i was wondering the same thing

  • wow you guys blow shit way outa proportion the vid was posted cause its a good song, who cares what religion they are. i respect them escpecially if there from the same country, and this is a really good song except for the guy with the short hair..loll.. he kills me but other then that its nice.

  • lol, yea the smaller guy bugs the hell outta me

  • i know....lol...the lyrics hes singing are alright but his 7arakat just piss me off. he cant stand still

  • Iam from Yemen amazing song I love it thank you for keeping Yemeni music a live

    shalom

  • is there any yemenites who visits yemen these days?

  • iam... got a problem with that?;)

  • right.

'aloosh - well said below. really. :)

  • i'm pretty sure that the big&good lookin' is Tzion Golan..

  • Im pretty sure the singer is named Sameer but i forgot his last name, sorry that's all the info i got on him. enjoy the video guys, stop arguing.

  • Man!! You haven't read anything from above else you would have answered with Zion Golan. I was just trying to explain to a user that yemeni jews are NOT "tourists/foreginers" that have been living in yemen 3000 years. They are just like any other yemeni's. The user apparently didn't like this and said that yemenis jew are JUST visitors in yemen (since 1000BC..hahaha) and that thier true homeland is israel.

  • I'm yemeni muslim, i love this song, i dont care if their jews, i dont care if jews were or are in yemen, i don't care who ruled yemen, i don't care who IS ruling yemen...i like the video...yemen is my country it is where i was born and yes it is engulfed in numerous problems mainly because of the current "president" ali abdullah saleh, well...he's not my president.

  • wow i see that this video has created a political , religious, and patriotic havoc. this video is not meant to prove any one's arguments; its simply a video to enjoy whether you are jewish, yemeni, christain, american, or muslim.

  • this is really great vedio, what is the band name?or singers

  • i loved it so much ,if you please send me more of yemenite song ,will be so nice,my email is Tymani perfct:)

  • What is the name of the group? They are great!!!

  • Nice Song...

  • ohhh...What is the name of this group/singers? Thanks.

  • His name (the taller one) is Zion Golan... He is the best and performs alot in yemeni weddings and Hennas (in Israel of course)...

  • These singers say in arabic "sanaa(the capital city of yemen) hee baladi wa anti le gariba ...ya beladi ya habibi" in english: sana'a is my country and you are near to me....my country my love."

Now, yemen is considered an enemy state of israel! Doesnt this make these singers diry traitors?

  • they miss their country because their country is yemen

  • Thanks for replying, but I would rather hear it from a yemenite jew , which I can tell from your name that you are not.

  • well, I'm a yemeni jew (my grandparents came from Yarim and Rada3) and we love the songs in arabic (there are songs from yemen both in Arabic and Hebrew) and the dances. Morrocan/Lybian/Algerian jews have songs in arabic too.

  • You haven't answered my question. The point is not whether he sings in arabic or chinese, the point is what he says, i.e. "I love Yemen , Yemen is my country". What would u say if an iranian jew sung "I love Iran , Iran is my country", wouldn't he be considered a traitor?

  • It doesn't make them traitors, and yes the Iranian jews have poems and songs about Iran and they all keep their traditional foods. Israel is a multicultural and multiethnic state. The Jews there (and the Arab Druze, and many Christians and some Muslims) are fiercely loyal to the country and serve in the army...this is just a song of nostalgia for Yemen.

  • You haven't answered my question. The point is not whether he sings in arabic or chinese, the point is what he says, i.e. "I love Yemen , Yemen is my country". What would u say if an iranian jew sung "I love Iran , Iran is my country", wouldn't he be considered a traitor?

  • this is just a song, so lighten up. All jews in Israel love their country, those who came from europe and those who came from Arabia. but the thing is - they can keep the original traditions and keep with Judaism.

  • It's like any other immigration country, when all the traditions from the country of origin are being kept. In the USA you have chinatown, and the chinese there are american citizens, but enjoy keeping traditions even though China is an enemy state to the USA - got it?

  • Most chinese in USA love thier home country China and try to keep its traditions. So, I assume the yemenites jews also do love thier home country.

BTW, in yemen the music industry is ZERO basically due to the islamic extermist (a singer is considered a very low Job, and a female singer is slightly better than a whore) and the fucked up economy of yemen.

  • Thats why you can find in yemen the CDs of most of these israeli yemenite singers and unlike our "friendly" arab neighbour countries who STEAL our music tradition and market it under their own, the israel's yemenites mark it as "Yemenite". So keep up the good work guys!!

  • thanks man. I'm sorry to hear about the music... you should know that the BEST voices in Israel are yemenite-jews, when they sing traditionally or pop-rock (in Hebrew). there's something about Yemen's air I guess :-) - a beautiful country.

  • It's good to know that the best singers there are Yemenites. It's something to be proud of and gives us Yemenis hope. It is sad how the music industry in Yemen is treated but I think there are bigger issues there that needs solving. Anyway cheers to 3aloosh for posting these and keep the work up. :0)

  • besides, in my opinion Yemen is Where Arabia was born before Islam, which goes with the fact that Yemenite Jews are considered the most authentic. BTW if you need any yemeni music PM me

  • Amen to that! and thanks a lot for your offer. Yemen histroy stretches 4000 years back (written history 3000 years). Yemen is the ONLY state on Earth that adopted officially Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Communism(south yemen)!! We simply like to try everything. Religons come and go, yemenis stay yemenis!!

  • that was not nice.. religon is religon, and we as yemenis Believe on all religons ..if u ment that!!!i admit yemenite alot and wish that all yemeni back home are strong on thier blifes like them.yemen for all people who love it and it is good that yemenite still proud of thier roots related to yemen..joine me in yemenforever group, iam so much intrested in all yemen history ,and yemenite tradition

  • Our landscapes(deserts, green highlands, moon-crater landscapes, islands, etc)and its people(an influence of indians, indonesians, africans, europeans, persians, turkish) vary soo much, that there was once a king of yemen who said: "I am not ruling a country, I am ruling a continent". And we (yemenis) are considered the orginal arabs.

  • But, all of our past glories look very dim compared to the problems yemen has today. We are wokring hard on it. And tell your yemenite jewish friends that they are always welcome to yemen and that they can have a land 25.4 times the size of israel. And they wont need guns, rockts, tanks, etc, or be afaired of suicde bombers, thats because they will take what TRULY belongs to them (unlike israeli land which honestly belogns to the palestinans).

  • Well my friend I'm afraid we'll have to disagree about so called palestine. Israel has been the land of jews from the dawn of history up untill its "official" decleration and this is a fact. We will never leave our Jerusalem and keep fighting for it. You should know that the jews came to Yemen thousands of years ago from ancient Israel after the fall of the king solomons' kingdom and they've allways known that Yemen is not their homeland...

  • Yemen was once a jewish state with the majority being jews until Islam came. It happened after the yemeni king(Asad al-kamel) converted because of political reasons:1)uniting all tribes under one god 2)preventing Christianity from spreading in yemen. His people followed him to Judaism. Therefore, Judaism didn't enter yemen because of immagration from outside as was the case for example in spain, or germany.

  • haha NO!

  • Well on some points they are indeed.

Hatha l-yahudi could have a lot of reasons not to love Yemen but if he does - well, me too. Brave man!! Respect.

--Eh, San'a is THE capital city of Yemen, not just A city...

Too patriotic Arabs should really be carfeul whom they are hating.

  • The Yemen jews here sings in Arabic about the beauty of San'a - a city in Yemen, and it's girls. the other says how he loves his "land" and how close it is to him. victims of zionism are not just the Palestinians but Arab-Jews too.

  • GREAT!!

    Teymani power................ :D
