hey guys. i have a question about engine performancem maybe you can help me. i have a year 2000 4 cylinder ford ranger i want to turn into a prerunner. what is the best way to get more power and speed from the engine without sacrificing gas mileage. maybe can i increase both power and gas mileage? air filters, exhaust, performance chips, etc. ???? the 4 cylinder is good on gas and i dont want to loose too much of that feature but i do want more power. thanks guys. love the vids.
@illdieinthegym is it the one with 8 spark plugs? 2 per cilinder, i would do intake and exhaust and see how it feals, ive seen some with turbos go to the rangerstation . com
im building a 96 ford ranger to a pre runner and ive never done this so do you have any pointers??? i didnt grow up in a family that does this stuff nd i dont know alot of people that have had big success with their pre runners so i definetly didnt want to ask them
aha i like that you actually had the long travel on before you got the fenders, almost everyone in cali JUST has the fenders...i guess for the look, but it looks dumb without the long travel
@Bulldog1677, im not tryin to be an ass but those are not a arms. the older model ranger came with wats called twin I-beam suspension. thts wat those are. u can get mad suspension travel with i-beams. :)
this vid is and inspiration to me for my truck!!!! one day ill have my own prerunner. i have a 94 ranger splash haha but shell become a prerunner someday. awesome vid man!!!!
I got a 1990 Ranger I'm hoping to do the same thing to, but most rangers I've seen are the newer ones with A arms. Looks like your's has twin I-beams? (correct me if im wrong, not too keen with suspension) If so, my truck has the same kinda suspension. Do you have a spec sheet, or could you name off the parts you got for this truck? And did you do any custom fab? If so, for which components? And what engine does your have? Mines only thr 2.3 I4 (manual), and it may be underpowered.
how much tubing did you buy? and how much did it cost? what were the dimmensions of the tube? also the close up of the welds that were shown, were they TIG welds or MIG? thanks for all your help!!
ok so im looking into building my own prerunner and i was wondering if you could tell me what you used for the rear suspension (im new to off road so excuse my terms lol) did you use the swing arm style of suspension or just long travel leaf springs? and as for the front coil overs did you use 2, 2.5, or 3 in coil overs? i will prob have many more questioins in the near future lol
@busterbrownpt The rear is just a performance leaf pack from National Spring. Not really what you would call long travel leaves in today's standards. The fronts are 2.5" coilovers.
@MrAndrade91 What you see at the end of the vid, About 5k or so. That includes new tires, rims, shocks all around, glass, new gears, rear end, any tubework, springs front and rear, etc.
@EvanNumberSeven Dude! Thats not even bad! lol ur truck is sick as fuck! i wasnt expecting it to be only 5k lol. Looks like a lot more money has gone into it. Well anyways.... Nice build. Looks sick
@2j4l6h8j after you've listened to it for a while you pick up on it just like anything else. there are some vocalists that are really good at it that you understand right away but there are others that arent so good... those take some work haha.
Beams bolt right in. Now if you have an 89 or new ranger, you would need to get the 88 and older spindles to match the beams because they are different. But the beams bolt in at stock location.
personally i love metal when watching badass trucks like yours!
