There is a sort of purity to it having been only one season. No one can say that one season was better than another. While it did not have the chance to grow, it also did not have the chance to peter out and dissolve, like the World Football League or the Regional Football League. It came, it did its thing on its own terms, and it left, with one wild, crazy, glorious season for us to remember and look back on.

I honestly belive that if Vince McMahon and the rest of the WWE entourage kept their faces out of the XFL picture and let someone else just run the show,it would still be around today. i loved the XFL, Well it left because of NBC. They said since won of the games that one game hit an all time low for tv ratings with 1.5. Vince said there would be a season 2 because they still had TNN and UPN networks. Unfortunately, UPN said they would only air it if smackdown was cut to an hour and a half. so vince denied this offer. So sad, smackdown could have taken the cut, come on!!! Xfl is gone but not forgotten!! It was not bad at all and Demons kicked ass ye. someday it could be back

What I don't understand is why people would even glance at a league like this when we have the NFL. It's ridiculous, the players probably didn't start their highschool team, the announcers acted like they were ringside at a wrestling match, and the whole environment made a mockery of a great sport. Since you were a child when the league debuted let me clue you in on a few things: the players started in highschool, college, the NFL & a few of them played in the NFL pro-bowl.
