  • with those "angled" type of plates..you have to totally let the bar settle first..or the plates roll away from your shins.

    They suck!!

    If it was "rounded" plates, the deadlifter can stay into deadlift position the whole time.

  • The "negative" is not a crucial part of the deadlift. The only thing you're supposed to do in lowering the weight is not get injured.

  • Fantastic lifting mate. That's a lot of work. Could I ask what percentage of your 1RM is that? My guess would be around 70%.

  • At the time I did the vid, it was around 575 or so, so you weren't far off. It's gone up since, then down again due to some injury issues.

  • Dude, 575lbs is good for a raw lift. I've never deadlifted for high reps because it fatigues the erector muscles way too much and a week is not enough time for them to recover, so I deadlift every second week now doing heavy tripples. I do heavy good mornings and olympic style shrugs on off weeks. I brought my max up to 705lb so far. But my dream is to break 800lb - keep lifting!

  • That's pretty damn amazing. Done right, High rep rest pause work must always be respected! Most trainees couldn't handle it for more than a few weeks.

    What kind of training do you do? ie abbreviated or high volume, days per weeks, no. of exercises/bodypart etc?

  • nothing wrong with stopping. form is solid and you still hit it 30 reps that most people here in youtube can't even do.

  • 560. Probably lower than you'd expect, but I should have 600 by the end of the year and, hopefully, 700 in '07... 660 minimum for 3x bodyweight.
