  • Wow i loved how farage turned that economic sea analogy around on them, these fools need to quiet and listen to nigel.

  • @Theaverable

    And he still won... :)

Farage Prime Minister 2015, Vote UKIP.

  • The Conservative party ruined hundreds of thousands of mortgage payers trapping them in negative equity . The Tories also annihilated thousands of small businesses when Major, Lamont, Kenneth Clarke, Hurd, and Heseltine forced extortionate interest rates on innocent people in a disastrous attempt to drag Britain into the Euro mire . Time for the Conservative party to apologize to the victims of their Black Wednesday mess.

  • Nigel - You the man!

  • Recent events tell us that the three pro Euro supporters were basically ignorant of the real danger of one currency suits all.

  • Farage is soo good they need 3 Euro-Crats to debate him.

  • Euro is Bollocks.

  • A Strong currency is always good? Ok, so why doesnt the US produce better products? Really stupid argument!

  • France, having blackmailed Germany - € or a difficult national reunification -, and Greece - no vote for 2004 Olympics from €zone if you don't join us is going for a European economic empire. Thus here monocular vision and needless arrogance.

Germany, as the only really strong viable € economy thus he can be in the middle. His views are the most balanced.

The analyst is brain-washed. Nigel argues the € will fail because it has been implemented undemocratically and with incompetent arrogance.

  • Euro-Scum

  • Yeah . Slovakia. Look at Poland - no euro, no crisis. If we had adopted the euro before the crisis, we would be in deep shit now. Bullshit eurocentric pseudo-arguments. Btw. It's really hard to listen to them, their pathetic accents are so fucking annoying. Learn proper English pronunciation euro-numbnuts! It's possible, even for for the French. This ship is sinking, it is true, but nobody listens to the voice of reason. People prefer being deaf and DUMB.

  • I would love to see this debate re-run now :)

  • Tower of Babel

  • Hail Farage

  • It's interesting to be able to look back on this; considering what is happening with the Euro today.

Brits should be very pleased we didn't take the plunge and adopt the Euro.

  • i can't believe some brits are still skeptical about the e.u. i mean, for heaven's sake, just look at all it has done for greece, spain, etc. :)

  • @CornFedArmen Too true

  • Which corrupt party will YOU vote for in this election? If you vote LibLabCon YOU will be responcible for what they get up too. Vote independent in this election and send a message that we are not going to take this crap any more.

  • Nigel Farage is a class act and a breath of fresh air from these left wing loons that always dominate the European debate.

  • AT first glance, I was unable to ascertain whether the french socialist person was a man or a woman. That's the EU for you and the sort of PC hermaphrodyte freaks who will be shuving "minority rights" down your throats and policing your thoughts.

  • Greece's problems are just the start...Spain will be next.

I looked at an opinion poll in "Die Welt" newspaper today which showed that 68% of Germans want their Deutschmark back ! Two weeks ago it was 46% !

People are slowly waking up to the fact that too much power is in the hands of too few unelected individuals in Brussels who are making decisions without the necessary legitimacy !

  • If British Euroskeptics are to keep their consistency, they should also favor Scottish independence.

  • @siebelseibel76

Not to mention Wales and North Ireland. Perhaps they should liberate themselves from the pound sterling (and British sovereignty). Afterall, it was bad London investments that have harmed these nations.

  • never in a million years, all the snp want to do is destroy this great island nation, and it wouldn't be british eurosceptic then would it if scotland were to get independence, it would be english euroscepticism

  • At least in the EU, one is in a very loose union. Give Scotland a referendum. You might be suprised that absolute rule of the English is not favored.

BTW, be careful when you mention Britain as an island nation. You still haven't taken all of Ireland.

  • @siebelseibel76

ok, british island, northern ireland and her crown dependencies, the eu is part of an unnecessary evil which envolves both economic and political centralisation, but in britain we have been the same nation for centuries and the sctotish indepedence would destroy that.

  • @youknowimright1

How long does the EU have to last before it can be considered justified?

I'm not against the UKIP. But if you are for the UKIP, you should also be for the SNP.

  • @andersoncouncil65

I beleive the e will keep going as long as national governments want the institution to last.

And to naswer your secound statement, i am not normally for parties but policies, ukip stands up to the eu on nearly every issue, the snp stand for ripping the UNITED kingdom in two, and why would i ever support a pathetic part like that.

  • I am an American and The Britsh are my cousins. The British are so fantastic they should keep their own singular identity. The world will be a worse place if they stay in the EU. Good Luck UKIP. Good luck Britain.

  • @MrBasilGanglia thanks-we're gonna need some luck!

  • Fuck the E.U!!!!!!!!!

  • @PeaceiHatetheword Let's have an EU flag burning day. The media might go for that and it'd be a lot of fun!

  • I am a citizen of Portugal and I am writing on December 29, 2009 to ask the lady to please notify the ECB that the time has arrived for the ECB to activate those *Solidarity Mechanisms Inside the Euro* towards my country. Thank you.

  • the euro has no place in britain, we have had the pound for centuries and we will have the currency even longer, there are no benifits joing the euro, is we keep the pound we can set our own inflation rates and secoundly the pound is worth more, the british will NEVER join the euro.

  • @youknowimright1 Anyone who tries to force us is guilty of high treason!

  • I'm from Poland, and i'm not glad in my country is no any politician like Nigel Farage. He's great. Gratulacions for all British, witch gived they vote on UKIP.

  • Vote UKIP and ignore this european federalist proganda .

  • Fuck the euro , keep the pound .The pound will start killing the euro once the UK is out of recession.Lets hope we can get 1.30-1.40 euros to the pound again soon.Brits do not want your stupid euro.

  • @independenceuk Stamp on the Euro!

It's a rip off and if we join we'll be in bondage to Europe for centuries. Either that or there'll be a bloody civil war once life becomes intolerable and the people have no other recourse.

  • Why ? . We can still control our own ecomony with the pound.British must keep the pound.

  • Now the Euro is not as strong as EUrophiles thought. Now the blame the "pigs", which is so disgusting, but the Euro and ECB policies is what caused so much pain to Greece, Spain or Ireland. Britain would be doomed inside the Euro, because of enormous private debt and public deficits

  • "In reality there has been no inflation"

EAT MY SHIT hasn't been any inflation

  • UK economy is down, hit by a house price crisis and many other problems. the euro would be weakened by the adhesion of UK. The pound is the result a of buy england politic, in a world where the international market rules.

  • why do we want a pathetic weak currency compared to our pound which was hit remarkably hard by the recession and its still stronger then the Euro

  • look the consequences of this...

  • its all another attempt to force us into a globalist society which we the people won't agree with. The economy will recover and we'll be stronger with the pound we just need to be patient.

  • If a sovereign government creates its own currency based on GDP and the value of a country then we do not need to charge any interest at all. Interest is charged by private banks like the BOE, FRB, BIS etc. Check out 'Money as Debt' 1&2 and the 'Money Masters' and many more if you want to know how this corrupt system of the central banking has been manipulating us for centuries. There is a lot more to it than just simple comments or sound bites on YouTube

  • the euro is not as strong as the pund in value, so there is no reason to join the euro.

  • The strength of a currency is no basis on which to judge whether to join the Euro.

  • We would not be able to set our own interest rates.

  • what fucking programme is this shit?

  • Get rid of the Central Banks, who are private organizations, unelected by us, use fractional reserving bank (look it up), are constantly devaluing the Euro due to FRB and are unaccountable. Single currency concept is possible without the central banks and IMF, but right now these guys driving us into a wall.

  • Fractional reserve banking is the cause of our current economic plight. It's time to return to a gold standard, and true market capitalism, not the fascistic corporatism we have had for 20 years. The Austrian School economists were the only economists to predict this crisis and its exact consequences. See Peter Schiff.

  • The Gold Standard doesn't work because of the high incentive to devalue ones currency against others fixed to the Index therefore gaining a 'free' competitive advantage.

  • well said.

  • Fractional banking is one of the key tools in smoothing the business cycle through monetary policy and is therefore essential.

  • Watch Nigel's latest speech on the second vote on Ireland.

My blood boiled when the Eu president made a point of putting the Eu flag on the table.

I think we can now see progress in the Ukip party.

Keep up the fight, holes are really starting to appear!

  • the biggest market place in the world IS the world not the EU. It is not just the currency but control of the countries taxes, interest rates and overall finances.

You obviously don't understand anything about it and neither are you aware that a number of countries who adopted the Euro are realising it was a mistake and want to revert back to their own currency and control of their own finances.

  • let's talk facts, please

which member state declared it would revert to its old currency...?

    answer = 0

can you tell me which taxes are controlled by the EU and which by the member states....?

You obviously don't understand anything about it and neither are you aware of how the EU works.

    greetings from Brussels!

  • i never said any country "declared" they want to revert back, but greece would be in a better place right now if it didnt change to the single currency for political reasons.

The EU should be a economic trading block not a political union, 56% of britions want a reff on the lisbon treaty.

  • friend, you wrote that they "want to revert back to their own currency and control of their own finances"

so, I'm asking you which member state declared it would revert to its old currency...?

btw, didn't you know that doing business in the same currency is quite a good thing for a "trading block"...?

    hugs

  • iam saying many greek people and some members of the government want their old currency back but they cant change back because of political bullying from other EU members.

Business in the same currency is great but the ability to cut and raise intrest rates at will in the best interest of your nation is absoloot.

Having a single currency, single flag, single army etc is bringing us closer to a european super state which the people of europe dont want, the reffs and votes all reflect this.

  • OK, if Greece was OUTSIDE of the Eurozone, their situation would be worse:

==> now the Greek government bonds benefit from the liquidity of deep eurozone markets; if their bonds were traded in national currency, this liquidity would evaporate (this also holds for ITA ES PO IRE)

==> outside of the eurozone, Greece and co. would face higher costs of borrowing and exchange-rate volatility Btw, countries like DK or SE adjust their exchange & interest rates in function of what the ECB is doing...

  • @NiceToMeetEU If Greece was outside the EuroZone then German Taxpayers wouldn't have to bail them out.

  • @roflcopter2006

no, the IMF would do so...

  • @NiceToMeetEU The IMF AND the EU are bailing them out, they just split the bill. Shame that other EU nations have to suffer as a result of another nations irresponsibility but then again thats why having a single currency for several nations is a shit idea anyway.

  • @NiceToMeetEU Oh wonderful! I am sure that Greece is very happy about being in the EURO. Especially since we have to pay their god damn bills here in Germany. God damn deadbeats!

  • @NiceToMeetEU But the only reason they're in this mess is because their interest rates were ludicrously low for too long because of their membership of the Eurozone.

You neglect to point out that if they were out of the Eurozone, they would be able to devalue, like Iceland, Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom. Instead, they are imposing fiscal cuts that are far in excess of what any economist would recommend, just to sustain this lunatic's union.

  • @NiceToMeetEU Yes, DK does adjust our interest rates in function of what the ECB is doing. But we have a fixed exchange rate policy with the Euro, which takes away the only advantage of having your own currency.

  • Norway is doing well also outside EU. Italy is in bad shape, Greece is in bad shape,, UK is in bad shape, Germany is in bad shape... Poland wants to leave the EU... Please give me one country who benefit from EU.. Maby one of the poorest country in the world, Romania have got som wealth from this Union. Or else I dont know why they made this political Union.

  • The French EUSSR Socialist had no intellectual response whatsoever. Her response was a mixture of "it's been a success", "look at Eurozone today", "imagine if we didn't have Euro today", etc. As other's pointed out, Switzerland is not begging to join this shitty little Communist economic Union of secret planning and centralized decision-making. We might as well adopt the Ruble and be governed by Russia, as it's financial control it's all about. The EUSSR wants to control you and your country.

  • @AberTous

    Preach !

  • gee whizz "another fair and balanced debate" (as they say on FOX News)

    Three Euro-Crats V's One Euro-Sceptic;

not quite 'fair and balanced' is it...!???!

  • haha thats what i though! Bloody bastard EU fanatics. We may aswell let Hitler invade the UK!

  • The only solution to our economic problems is to abolish central banking cartel and privatise money on the gold standard.

  • Comment removed

  • Look at mr. Farage's face trying to make sense of what they are saying :-)

  • I'm sure the only thing Nigel Farage has trouble understanding is their accents

  • Last i checked the Swiss were doing damn well, something changed?

  • I think EU enthusiasts must think Switzerland must be desperately poor....lol They are doing things right, and have a high standard of living.

  • The EU only advantages the poor countries and only occasonally.

  • And it only does that by taking away their dignity and turning them into beggar nations.
