It can't really be verified that he didn't bump it slightly as he went by. Saying that he definitely didn't bump it would be a subjective observation at best, without a clearer video to rely on.
I don't deny that the flag appears to have moved, but I conducted a test at my house, and using approximations of this clip, I found that the astronaut should have been about 6 1/2 feet from the flag, at this distance, if there was air, the astronaut could not have generated enough air movement to move the flag this much. (I tested that too)
Only at 2:35 the flags move without no one touching it. An astronaut passes by very close to it. Most certainly it's because of static electricity created by the nearby moving astronaut. If it had been wind, the flag should have moved even when no astronauts were near. That never happens in any videos.

Well, it happened just as the astronaut was hopping by. My guess is that the vibration sent through the ground, shaking the pole just enough to cause a rocking in the flag. As you can see, it's not a waving, but a rocking, the inertia of which gradually decreases.

The telescope is called LRO, it has taken DOZENS of photos of EACH landing site. EVERY SINGLE PICTURE is consistent with the thousands of photos taken on the moon. I don't deny that the flag appears to have moved, but I conducted a test at my house, and using approximations of this clip, I found that the astronaut should have been about 6 1/2 feet from the flag, at this distance, if there was air, the astronaut could not have generated enough air movement to move the flag this much. (I tested that too)

Only at 2:35 the flags move without no one touching it. An astronaut passes by very close to it. Most certainly it's because of static electricity created by the nearby moving astronaut. If it had been wind, the flag should have moved even when no astronauts were near. That never happens in any videos.

Well, it happened just as the astronaut was hopping by. My guess is that the vibration sent through the ground, shaking the pole just enough to cause a rocking in the flag. As you can see, it's not a waving, but a rocking, the inertia of which gradually decreases.

@GPlinthon I have seen a few obvious fake recordings that try to look like moon footage and then "fail a take" just to support the hoaxer theories - I have average high school knowledge about physics, and even I could easily point out several errors there (air blowing in the microphone, too fast movements etc) - I've never found any "mistakes" like that in the real moon landing footage.
It would also be super-hard, if not impossible, to make the sun shine on a pitch-black sky AND send it live.

Global positioning satellites are orbiting about 25,000 kms above you and can see you through the thick atmosphere down to earth to cm accuracy (some say they now can even see the time on your watch!).

It IS easy to make a flag that will move first and then freeze (you only need to apply a resin). But perhaps it takes some time to dry more than 2-3 minutes. There is so much evidence pointing at the moon landing being fake. the US has launched roughly 3000 satellites since the moon landing. how come we have not gone back to the moon? the landing was faked as a scare tactic during the cold war. to show the Soviet Union that we're getting really advanced. and if you view this evidence with an open mind and no bias, it really becomes 1 sided.

@SpreadingtheMuse thanks for this, yeah i posted that comment as kind of a basis for what i thought. i've been learning more about the moon landings ever since. i never knew we had multiple trips. i was actually quite ignorant on the subject. i never believed it was faked, and i never believed it was real. i had a neutral stance. I'm just sitting back trying to intake as much information on the subject as i can to make my own decision.

@HONORYOUROATH the moon is not spotlighted,it is made of nylon and is translucent in the light.The moon is very reflective,hence why it is very bright in the night sky(this is why there are no stars in the images)Regarding the flag,it does not wave,it moves after being handled.It was made of very thin aluminium to save weight.the movement was exaggerated by the vacuum of space and the flag only stopped moving due to friction between the flag and pole(there is no air resistance to slow it down)

I'm still unsure who is right, there's so much bullshit and disinformation floating around that no one could make a valid observation on what really went on.
The most obvious reason for the slight flapping is that the Moon possibly HAS AN ATMOSPHERE (although rarefied) , their lie about its absence is part of the cover story designed to hide the possibility that we/they/ SOMEONE has been living in bases up there well before the so called tin can moon landing.

And indeed the moon hoax is one of the secrets that have been leaked because of the advent of internet and proliferation of information.
The reason the moon is not accessible is because of lethal radiation. We still do not have the technology to shield against it... If you do the research you will find out this is a major hurdle before NASA that is hindering any attempt to go to the moon or mars.
