  • Thanks for your heart warming story!!

Although it would've been cooler without all the swearing;-p

  • I don't think some of us realize how easy it is to make someone's day. Especially if the affected person is a student who is being bullied/neglected. A lot of times, all it takes is that smile every day, or those few minutes spent exchanging small conversations to pass a small amount of time to keep that person motivated toward tomorrow. I can definitely relate to this story, from both sides. Thanks for sharing, @TkyoSam You're awesome, bro

  • And making more videos?

  • Are you still in Japan and making n

  • dude i fucking love you dont forget that seriously

  • nice. Like the video. I look forward to things like that letter in the future after I've been teaching for awhile. Hopefully I can be moved out there by like March some time.

  • good story

  • Great video Sam. You rock brother.

  • Good video

  • good for you, bro. bully home room teacher! yay!

  • you non-conforming bastard! I love it.

  • Good to see that nice people still exist in school systems.

  • awesome vid. sorry it took me so long to get to it. i have been moving around hokkaido a lot so keep losing my internet connection. i am an alt and i totally understand everything you said. i am just waiting for a letter like that to make me feel like i am kinding of helping out.

  • This was a really pleasant story and I'm glad you shared it with us :)

  • Hope your doing good Merry Christmas and have a good New Year!! Sam

  • stay black! lol. - haha Classic!.

  • You're a good guy, Sam :)

The world needs more people like you.

  • Sam is an OG. Original Gaijin, and apperently a savior of young girls school lifes. BIG UP Sam!!

  • wow that was very moving, thanks for the story man that made my night! :)

  • wow, i wish i could be that special to someone's life some day. great story, thanx for sharing.

  • Well Sam you are a good person and i think your vids are great.

  • For some reason the YouTube app is horseshit and I can't reply to your comment or see your channel. Anyway, I'm not doing anything except sightseeing and walking around until Friday morning. Hit me up at my email: nwsskater172@hotmail.com

  • @shomo172 @shomo172 Cool just email me here on youtube. I think I'll be free in the evening for a little while. Think about Ueno 6pm~ish.

  • Good video. Yo Sam im in tokyo until the 16th if you wanna grab a beer or something. Staying near ueno.

  • @shomo172 Kool, email me your schedule dude and we'll set up a time yo

  • Happyto see people that still has some kind of spark within them. Respect!

  • Thank you for giving me a more real perspective on what the job will be like and mentioning the negative aspects of it without just hating on it completely. Hopefully when I go to japan I can at least spark a real interest in English in my students. ( if i make it. c=) Maybe I can convince my BOE to start a simple anti-bullying campaign. Again, thankyou! C=

  • Awesome story man. Thanks for sharing!

  • Radiation from the skies. Death winds fall upon man in the last days (said while eyes are wide open with shrieking violin sounds happening).

  • Thats awsome of you man.Never stop beeing cool like that.

  • I loved that story mate, you seem like the kind of guy i would love to sit and have a couple of drinks with. Stay black :)

  • Great story I know i've been there. Something just so simple as hanging out and reading manga. An innocent friendly gesture can mean so much so someone else when they are down or just need a good friend around.

I'm a big guy to how do you stand the hot summers there. Keep Making Great Video's

  • Hey Sam! Nice to see you uploading again. It's been a while.

  • also, totally agree with us foreign teachers having nothing to complain about. the reality of students actually learning English, yeah, you have to let that go and just do your job and enjoy all the benefits. we have it so much better off than the native teachers, Japanese or in my case Korean teachers get less benefits than I do and have to work harder! They can complain, we should just feel lucky and try to make a difference when we can. It isn't often but... whatever! just rive the rife!

  • awesome! middle school girlfriend bonus! haha, no but seriously, you're right, the school system is really bogus.

  • Nice story thanks for sharing.

  • awsome

  • Nice story and great message, Sam.

  • nice story though. liked it very much

  • unfortunately i have the opposite effect on ppl

  • When she ended with GTS, that's priceless :)

  • The "company" disliked Tkyo`s video...

You kick ass, I don`t know if you realize but you probably did more for that japanese girl, than every other teacher who just didn`t care about her and her problems...

She will probably remember you as the gaiyin who was with her in those painful moments, she will never forget you and that is mark that few people can make into another`s life.

  • Well done son.

  • You rock Sam.

  • awesome video sam!

  • Thank you for your story!! That really touched my heart!

  • Awesome video.:) It made me cry. I myself was bullied very badly in school. I'm glad you helped to make a difference in that kids life.:)

Btw you look like you have Super Saiyan hair in this video lol.:p

  • Comment removed

  • word ive been watching your videos for a LONG time now and this is the first time im leaving a comment bullying sucks ass man. just hearing your story about how u helped this kid more people need to be like that. big ups!... fuck bullys .... stay black

  • i wonder who would disliked this vid? TkyoSam must have an enemy

  • Good job Sam. That was a great story. It makes me want to go to Japan even more. :)

  • "there never going to learn english with the ALT system." Soooo fkn true. The ALT system is seriously flawed, yet it is the most governmentally and financially backed system for learning English in Japan. Great vid dude. Also, is it just me or did your balls finally drop? cause your voice got much deeper LOL (playin!)

  • Great video this made me your new subscriber. ^_^

  • This is probably one of your best videos, if not the best, great stuff man.

  • you are incredible

  • I think Sam's vids have come a long way since his 1st big in japan vids. they currently deal with the human condition and current issues in japan. i admit i used to dog this guy but i've come around to appreciate what he says. this vid clearly demonstrates Sam's kind side and shows he clearly doesn't follow the norm of society. Sam is a good kid.

  • your awesome

  • You are awesome Sam!

  • mmm 0 dislikes...

  • いい話をありがとう。

  • Awesome story man, touching letter!

  • incredible story Sam, looks like you was fighting happy tears for a sec. It always feels good to know that you had a positive impact on someones life. One of the happiest feeling someone can experience :)

  • Great Story, I've been here(in Japan) for the last 3 month now and seriously the way Japanese people deal(or should I say try to ignore) their problem just piss me off sometime...

  • You speak the truth on this one! English teachers usually only care about themselves. They don't do shit for students usually.

  • is it a bird? no!

    is it a plane? NO!

    IT IS TKYOSAM !!11ELEVEN

thank you for sharing this with us, and also thank you for sharing a part of your life with us! ganbarre Sam :)

  • lol...stay black:D

  • That's a great story!!! Like others said, she must be over 18 by now! lol

  • I'm very moved by this story, man. Like you said, even for gaijins they still set up these expectations. I know how it may be tough for you because of the general expectations of this rigid culture, but you keep doing your shit and be yourself because people in Japan NEEDS people like you. They don't need another Japanese dude pushing their agenda against the entire country. These kids need people like you and a variety of others outside of that damn Japanese box to reach out to these kids.

  • Still stayin' black I see rofl.

  • That's an awesome story, dood ;D

Having an impact like yours on a student's life is probably the most enjoyable aspect of being a teacher.

  • Good man Sam!

  • you should meet up with her !

  • she has to be 18 by now call her up

  • You kick ass Brotha!

  • Nice story. Peace

  • That was really sweet, I know I was made fun of in school, it hurts to know people don't like you and you don't know why or it's out of your control.

  • Oh. My. Gawd. you made a vid! -*falls over faint*-

    hehe

    Good to see you!

  • Awesome story mate! loved it, I myself was bullied a lot and it really helps just to know someone doesnt mind haning out with you and doesnt hate your guts for no reason.

  • we need more teachers like you!

    LOVE YOU!! =)

  • :*) that's so awesome. That's what it's all about! Rad-ass mondo major awesome, man.

  • Great vid. Excellent story and huge props for sharing it. Jr. High is a tough time for the kids that get bullied and you made a big difference in that kid's experience and life.

  • very good video and story, keep up the great stuff man

  • That is an amazing story. You are indeed GTS. I hope to one day be a valid English teacher in Japan, and if I can make a difference, that'll be amazing. I think that teachers who are on the side of the students are always the best and the most likely to succeed and help out their students. Well done!

  • i normally like to see Sam travel around japan showing the sites that they have to offer. i had to hear what Sam was saying in this vid. watching this video made me so sad to hear that japanese don't have a way to deal with bullying. We are living in the 21st century and heading to 2012 and an advance society like japan can't deal with such simple issue. So sad. It's great Sam brought this social issue to our attention. Good for u Sam. i like this vid

*** dedicated to our future pioneers***

  • @TheConspiracyMan8

Japan is always trying to stop bullying. It's a big issue here. This particular school dealt with it in their own -- albeit -- questionable way.

A 14 year old was just convicted of killing his gay classmate in the USA, but you can't say the USA is not trying to deal with homophobia in its schools, right?

  • This is what it's all about, man.

  • wow, as if they segregated the bullied students.

  • good for you!:)

  • Don't tell chicks you're an ALT, tell 'em you're a writer or something.

  • @Shadowdancer21b

Nothing wrong with being an ALT.

  • @Gimmeabreakman It doesn't get you chicks though!

  • Props, Sam. Great vid.

  • GTS... Great Teacher sam?

  • @akiliase I see what you did there.

  • Nice story and nice video :) You know it's kind of weird, you've been in Japan for like quite some years now, I'm 14, but when I'm like 18+ and I might go to Japan, so much might have changed and idk...you'll be older...

I wish I'd be older and stuff :\ although I'm happy with my life

Sometimes I'm just scared of the future...idk lol

Anyways dude, I'm glad for her and have a good day! :)

  • Great story, and glad she was so happy for your help. :)

Glad you helped that girl, who knows what could have happened if you didn't step in.

  • Thats wassup! Keep doing what you do bro!

  • Sam, That is the reason you were destined to teach school in Japan! You are a true mentor! You may not think so, but... You are the Black Messiah!

  • loved to hear your story. I'm so glad u could gelp that girl!

kids..they are amazing. sometimes I also do some little thing like paying them a bit of attention, treating them as a valuable individual, and they become so grateful, they never forget (obviously, especially the ones in need, the ones that r in a bad situation etc)

  • cool story bro! STAY BLACK

  • Awesome story man, thats all i gotta say. Big up to ya

  • Good job doing the right thing there :D, you're right you should feel great. You should also thank her for her letter if you can.

PS: More cool videos about night life in Japan please, you do those the best of all jvloggers!

  • You really don't know your making a difference until you've helped someone out. It may not even be directly but once you find out actually made a difference. The feeling is awesome. Keep up the videos

  • Very great story! Perhaps if her name is on that little note you have there, maybe you guys can meet up and chill again :D

  • So true man. I've learned that language schools can't teach you a language to fluency(all skills). You have to do it yourself, you have to spend the time and show up. To years in to Japanese studies and I'm loving the success. Thanks to AJATT, which lead me to Tkyosam videos. Motivation is what helped me a lot and anki(love this thing now). Keep it up man!

  • Such a good vid dude

I gotta say I’ve been watching your vids from the start man and I gotta say

    This was the most heartfelt

This vid was definitely worth the wait

  • oh hell, sam went Super Saiyan!

  • Isn't there some kind of incentive for the management to actually produce English speaking kids? Either for-profit or non-profit? Does a whole nation really go along with the status quo of crappy English teaching because of constraints on teachers? If so, that's very sad :(

  • i feel ya I feel ya bruh if you can hit meh up in my mail ( real quick )

  • cool

  • awesome video!!!

  • Like something outta GTO. Awesome Tkyosam.

  • Thanks for making this. Your awsome.

  • I love your positive attitude, Sam!

  • nice manga collection

  • Awwwwww. That was beautiful Sam :)

  • epic story dude, you inspired me to start learning japanese. I wanna get on the JET program but i don't have a bachelors degree so I'm screwed lol, I'm still learning though. at least if i go to japan on holiday i wont be completely clueless. don't ever change dude, you're awesome!

  • This was very touching indeed. Very positive. Thanks, dude!

  • Hella-favorited!! Go Sam!!

  • I think I'm going to keep this in mind when I eventually go teach English. I too have been thinking "I wonder how I'll be limited by the company" or "just how far can I actually go?" I think I'll worry about apologizing AFTER they think I did something wrong.

    Great vid Sam. Thanks.

  • You act all tough and ghetto, but at heart you're a really good man.

  • This is the best video you've ever made. Nice job.

  • Thanks for making this. I needed that.

  • Really touching story man, awesome!
