Everyone needs to be anti-gun! If you want a gun, join the army idiot. What we don't need are untrained, trigger happy civilians out there just waiting to use a gun during a violent conflict. If you morons want to carry a gun, join the police or armed forces. You see how effective carry a firearms is, violent crime is at an all time high. Civilians have NO justification for carrying any firearms. All this does is strokes their egos. Probably most would not pass the psych tests. IDIOTS!
I'll be honest in saying that if gun control advocates could show me irrefutable evidence that gun control reduced violent crime and saved lives, I'd probably support it. (And cry as they take away Shiela, my Beretta.) But the opposite has been true. Time and again the pro-gun advocates can show actual statistics while the anti-gun lobby relies on emotional response and unsubstantiated statements. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of the guy who broke in to steal your X-Box.
If you're shot in the leg youll bleed out in about 5 minutes, in the chest, 3 minutes, in the jugular and heart, 30 seconds. The average police response time to a home invasion is 2-3 minutes. Thats if your first instinct is to pick up the phone. If you need faster help a bullet from a gun only takes about 5 millisecond to respond to a home invasion and you don't even have to call it.
Nice and stupid...a good argument for your parents to use better birth control, though...from someone who range-qualified for CCW I am ashamed for BOTH sides of the issue to see your lame piece on anything except "MadTV"
The U.K. started banning guns in 1997 (I think?). U.K's crime rate has risen with the banning of guns. Where as in America over 70 million additional firearms were sold and crime has fallen. Also Switzerland has more guns per people than America. Guess who's crime rate is lower? Switzerland.
@TheGlickman I think the Handgun ban was in 1997. I think the worst thing was back when they ruled out Self Defense as a good reason for owning a gun.
Either my facts are B.S. or yours are. But either way, I DO know that Switzerland has guns all over the place yet has low crime. "Cultural conditions, not gun laws, are the most important factors in a nation's crime rate. Young adults in Washington, D.C., are subject to strict gun control, but no social control, and they commit a staggering amount of armed crime. Young adults in Zurich are subject to minimal gun control, but strict social control, and they commit almost no crime.”
The problem is that there is no happy medium... you either have full control or no control... In my opinion... anyone should be allowed to carry a pistol on them... the only restriction I would put on them would be age 21 to carry a pistol. 18-20 can carry .22 pistol if you have taken the safety course and are with someone 21+ with a carry permit (which is just the safety / target shooting course) Sh*t that sounds good to me... More guns = Less crime
@novedzor So because I'm not 21 you are willing to entrust my life to a .22 pistol and needing to be with someone 21+? The only response I have to that is 'bite me'.
@hjjfffaa .22 is cheap to shoot and the pistols are much cheaper giving you the ability to try .22 LR version of all other pistol types...
I carry a .22 for my carry weapon... your mind is the weapon kid everything else is just an accessory... firepower > stopping power at Close Quarters Battle. .45 w/ 3 mags = 24 rounds or 9mm w/ 3 mags = 48 rounds. which one do you have better odds with?
@Tomisgreat56 No one hands out guns to everybody. It is federal law that you must complete a background check to get one. Almost all gun crimes are committed with an illegal owned gun / one bought off the streets. So even if guns were banned criminals will still have them. Here in the United states we have the right to keep and bear arms for defense against criminals. trust me someone will think twice about kicking a door in if they think someone on the other side is possibly armed.
@Dietzeeeee So where did the guy in the street illegally selling guns get his guns? From legit stores. These background checks can't be thorough enough. I'm from England. Over here the only people who are given gun licences are those who can prove they have a reason to have a gun, other than to shoot people. Like vets and hunters. This means gun crime is rare. If there were guns around during the London riots a few months ago, hundreds would have been killed.
@Tomisgreat56 If home owners and business owners had guns during the riots they would not have lasted long... I have friends whose lives have been saved because they had a gun. If you saw what the gangs were like over here you would realize that they do not give a shit about gun licenses. They get there guns the same way they get there drugs.. illegally. If I do recall when your country put heavy restrictions on gun ownership gun crime went noticeably up.
As for the riots if they came to burn down my house with my family in it they wouldn't get far, and the law supports self defense in our country and the means to defend it against those evil enough to try and snuff out innocent life for a baggy of crack. If I could carry a cop around with me I would, but I can't. So that is why I carry a M1911 compact. Hope I never need to use it, but god forbid I need to I at least have a fighting chance. Sorry I refuse to be a victim.
@Tomisgreat56 It's sad you don't even understand your own countries recent history. Since the UK handgun ban handgun crime is up over 300% and all violent crime went up. If you want a more local example, in Canada you are 5x more likely to be home while your house is being robbed than in the United States. These statistics are all documented. I suggest you read "Gun Facts", free e-book that is completely cited. Educate yourself and stop spreading lies based on pure emotion.
@jtpurser I just went on this site and couldn't find any records dating back to when guns were banned in the UK, just as far back as 1989. It also shows gun crime has dropped in the UK over the last ten years. It also stated (quite prominently under the "Gun facts" page you referred me to) some interesting statistics that showed 20 times more gun related homicides occur in the US than the UK, and 10 times more than Canada.
@Tomisgreat56 You didn't read it. Look at pages 53, 54, and 55. It addresses everything you just referred to. Since you probably won't even read it will quote the chart from 55. British offenses in 2000 and the % of increase from pre ban: armed robbery 170%, kidnapping 144%, assault 131%, attempted murder 118%, sexual assault 113%. And last but not least, "Since the gun banning has escalated in the UK, the rate of crime-especially violent crime - has risen.
@jtpurser Sorry that wasn't the gun facts ebook that was the first thing that came up when I googled "gun facts".
BTW under the table of statistics theres a link marked "Gunpolicy", that gives a more up to date chart showing you are actually 30 TIMES more likely to be murdered with a gun in the US than the UK.
@Tomisgreat56 GO read those pages I said, it even addresses what you just posted lol. It explains the reporting differences and practices between the 2 countries. Another fatal flaw you are seeing is "more likely to be murdered with a gun in the US than the UK" i am skeptical on that but even if it wasn't, you need to compare murders in whole to murders or look at overall violent crimes. Getting stabbed, shot or beaten is the same murder. My point is ban guns only made it worse.
@jtpurser Fair enough. I am now on said ebook. I am looking at the graph on p52 and while homicide rates spike at scotland they are quite low in england. The graph on p53 shows a rise of around 11 per 100000 firearm crimes after guns being banned, but as the graph on p54 shows, it was steadily rising anyway, and violent crime even dropped in the last half of 1998. A lot of this however refers to violent crime rather than gun crime.
@Tomisgreat56 Well you need to ask yourself, is your goal to reduce people getting physical harmed or just ban guns because you don't like them. There is a correlation between more guns and less crime though or at the VERY least it doesn't have a negative effect. That's my entire point. As a world in whole we need to stop blaming objects and start effectively punishing criminals.
@jtpurser You can run from a man with a knife or a blunt object. But you can't run from a bullet. Guns are designed to kill people. Maybe banning guns in the US entirely isn't the best solution, given the number of guns already around. But something has to be done to lower gun crime in the US which is, whichever way you look at it, high. I'm done with this argument now. You can keep posting comments but I won't reply again.
@Tomisgreat56 The most fatal flaw in your last argument, I'm a parent with 2 boys under the age of 4. How would I or any other parent (especially a female) pick up 2 children and outrun a single attacker let alone many. I am grateful to live in a country that still embraces the ability to protect yourself and your family. Canada has started to see their mistakes with the push this year to reverse firearm registry. With no way to protect yourself, I wish you the best of luck which is all it is.
@Tomisgreat56 It's not the guns. It's the culture. We are taught at a very early age that guns are special and that violence is great. Guns have no free will. A loaded gun will sit on a table for eternity without every shooting anyone. It's the people (and more importantly), the culture that is the root cause of crime. Guns have no say in the matter. It's not guns. It's the people.
@Hickeydog2365 You are correct in that. We are fascinated with violence for some reason.
But the fact still stands that if guns are made illegal to everyone then the criminals that do get them acquired them illegally and this is a very small number.
@bluegrassreb1 Yes. If someone has a gun they would have acquired it legally.
And it is proven that if an armed burglar breaks into your home and you have a gun you're more likely to be killed than someone without a gun. That's a fact.
You were mistaken all around. That home self defense gem that you dropped was another falsehood from the gun control freaks. It has been disproven many times, but those crooked scum never let an inconvenient fact interfere with a good lie.
That would be a big surprise to the company that was paying me six figures a year to develop software for them.
Now I'm retired, with lots of time to point out the bullshit that morons like you spew.
Now, run along, teenybopper. You're too ignorant to debate with, and too intellectually dihonsest or just too damned lazy to seek out honest facts. You'd rather rely on propaganda from the gun control freaks.
@WFSW32 "If someone has a gun they would have acquired it legally.
And it is proven that if an armed burglar breaks into your home and you have a gun you're more likely to be killed than someone without a gun. That's a fact."
What a steaming pile of shit. Every part of this comment is wrong.
They missed the point. If everyone carried a gun in their car, car jackers would Not exist. Same reason criminals don't attack police stations but have attacked schools. No one wants a fair fight. The idea behind a gun is to create and uneven balance of power. He with the gun has a great advantage over those without. Not so much when everyone is armed! That's why gun crimes are lower in areas where gun ownership is plentiful.
@liljimmylv I really don't think that if everyone was armed violent crime would significantly decrease. I also think that if someone had a gun trained on you, you wouldn't really be able to out-draw and incapacitate them unless they were frozen.
@wikieditspam Doesn't matter what we think, It's a fact! In concealed carry environments (places where citizens carry their guns, or have the option to) violent crimes are measurably less than in gun free zones. 2nd point, the chance of someone pointing a gun at me is minimal when they know others are carrying a gun. I don't have to out draw because the criminal thinks twice about using a gun when theres a chance he'll have one pointing back at him. No one goes looking for a fair gun fight.
@liljimmylv It's still not a fact that car jacking would completely go away, nor any crime for that matter. There's a difference between measurable decrease, and complete cessation of crime; that's a fact. Also the scenario in the video is of a lone gunman attacking a driver with apparently no-one within shooting distance watching the crime happen.
Okay, I get the message of this ad. But I think there should be stricter policies enforced in regards to what type of people can own weapons. I think those with a history of alcoholism, drug use, criminal activities, uncontrolled depression, mental/psychological issues, and so forth shouldn't even be allowed to own any. I understand if people use weapons to protect themselves but there should be more surveillance on those that have them, as well as, keeping records of those that own them.
@TheLavish99 just on those criteria you listed, 70% (I'm guessing) of americans couldn't own a gun. you forgot medical marijuana users too.
I hate to tell you but the second amendment says "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" (emphasis added) it says NOTHING about certain groups of people not being allowed to keep and bear arms.
@rstawarz111 I don't think the concern is with criminals. The concern is that we don't want to have to mistake kids w/ real guns. If a criminal wants to use a toy gun to rob people, that's fine, they might get shot for being stupid.
@MavHunter20XX If a kid is carrying a realistic toy in public, it's because HE WANTS to pretend he has a gun, and I have no problem if he gets shot (like what happened early this year, the kid was told to stop and he pulled the gun on a cop).
If they paint it orange, parents will think it's a toy and will NOT think of the consequences. Realistic replicas are NOT toys suitable for children anyway. They should be kept in bags when carried and only used in the appropriate places.
@MavHunter20XX I don't. If you are stupid enough to carry something that looks like a gun and not stop when you are told, you deserve to get shot. We don't need stupid people contaminating our gene pool.
I'm sorry to bring up Eugenetics here. But it's true. Each generation gets worse at parenting, and I don't need no uneducated children messing with my so far non-existant offspring.
@rstawarz111 They only need the orange tip for shipping and selling. When you use it you can paint it black because it's legal to paint real guns. Just don't take it on the streets or you will end up like that kid who got shot by a cop.
Petitions for UK citizens who support the following,
PETITION TO REPEAL THE 1997 AND 1988 FIREARMS ACTS.
We, the undersigned, petition the UK government to repeal both the 1997 and 1988 Firearms Acts. We believe that law-abiding people should be allowed to own handguns as well as other firearms prohibited under these laws, should they wish to do so.
As this is in the category education, it should be educating. And in such a situation you probably will survive, if you don't have a gun, but probably will die, if you try to use a gun.
A situation in which it would actually be good to have a gun would be a school shooting for example.
@HandicappedWalrus so true its just not the right weapon for different situations.... now the REC-7 would be good maybe w/ an added ACOG or EOC sight maybe a red dot sight but hey thats my opinion hahaha
@just1nwalter7 I'm not even going to bother myself explaining why you have been a complete moron for not reading what was posted before I did - so that you could understand my comment.
You didn't so I assume you have no interest in pursuing an argument that would end up with you admitting a hasty post.
Actually, guns are USELESS for self defense. Everyone knows the best way to deal with a criminal is get on your knees and blubber and plead for your life. Even better, offer to suck his dick. (Or even better than that, tell your wife/girlfriend to suck his dick.)
@island4diver Check out groups like VPC and the Brady Campaign; they're still saying it. (How long though until they advise you to make your wife, girlfriend or daughter fellate a home invader? Probably the day after national gun confiscation goes into effect!)
"Suck his dick, Marge! Please, please suck his dick so he DOESN'T HURT MEEEEEEE!" (Typical liberal anti-gun homeowner as he cowers with his hands over his head...)
@bjggjb Ummm VPC et al are ran by conservatives, but the rank and file tend to be liberal. This liberal on the other hand, will blow his fucking head off.
Well, I DID say "typical" liberal. And believe me, after 4 years of college I've seen enough of that kind to last me my next seven lives. (Kudos to you for being an armed-and-ready one!)
@Rimes9845 But its not as easy as all that. it would still cost a lot of money for lawyers and the like, becuase there will be a court case at some point
@MrChesterarthur When a man points a gun at you, you have a right to shoot him, stab him, or run him over. You don't have to wait for him to shoot first because his first shot might be the one that blows your brains out.
Its all about conditioning- Do you really think gun control is just about guns? hell no! Ask the experts- hitler, stallin, mao, and just about every dictator and totalitarian that has followed. Its about CONTROL- disarmament is just the first step to conditioning a populace to be WEAK, STUPID VERY VERY STUPID and DOCILE (like a blind lamb headed to the slaughterhouse)!
The unarmed and weak are very polite to the strong and well armed- just like the slaves and serfs
The well armed, strong & intelligble society is polite cuz of the BALANCE of power(aka ACCOUNTABILITY aka if u fuck up, u know there will likely be a bullet up your ass)
Without guns, arms and the basic decency of property rights, what rights do you have? NONE! Stallin's Russia and Mao's China or the Turkey of 1911 is what u get!
The weak tend to be very polite- u know like the weak ass serfs and slaves?
A strong intelligble society tends to be polite cuz they understand the BALANCE of power(aka theres accountability aka if u fuck up, u know theres gonna be a bullet up your ass)
@wcresponder whos to say the thug actually had ammo?
or the guts to pull the trigger..
i see all the time on tv when some idiots try to hold up a convenience store and the clerk grabs their own gun and the guys that wanted to rob the place in the first place ran like hell out the door..
*not saying that he wouldn't have used his gun, just pointing out another (somewhat) likely scenario
@ScooterMcBean Not really. This is why you have to take a course, and then a test here in Canada. When you are 18, you can get your license. There are a LOT of 18 year olds out in the rural areas that are responsible enough to own, and properly use a firearm.
@SUP3RZ0MB1E Don't know where you're from but I could legally hunt when I was 14 years old.
I must have been talking trash because I forgot that the youthful fascination with guns is mostly limited to urban dwellers; and I was only referring to illegal handguns.
@SUP3RZ0MB1E I am all for responsible long gun ownership in Canada. Unfortunately there is a disconnect with too many Canadian urban dwellers who hear "gun" and think "handgun" or who think that hunting is evil. This is why politicians introduced bill c-68 back in the 90's. Still handgun fascination is a youthful, macho kind of thing.
@ScooterMcBean No just handguns rifles are hard to conceal and it wouldnt be neccesary to do so it is quiet easy to spot a 10 year old with a shotgun in his shirt isnt it
@roark02 Handguns have been restricted weapons in Canada for 60 years but you still hear about kids popping each other every few days here. It's not really that viable to try and stop people from obtaining illegal weapons without first addressing why there is a demand for them (likely drug prohibition).
all the new gun laws are doing is taking the guns away from the people that actually abide by the law. criminals will still have just as many if not more guns than they always had. How do the new gun laws actually make you feel safer?
Sure is airsoft in here.

How would I or any other parent (especially a female) pick up 2 children and outrun a single attacker let alone many. I am grateful to live in a country that still embraces the ability to protect yourself and your family. Canada has started to see their mistakes with the push this year to reverse firearm registry. With no way to protect yourself, I wish you the best of luck which is all it is.
jtpurser 3 months ago
@Tomisgreat56 It's not the guns. It's the culture. We are taught at a very early age that guns are special and that violence is great. Guns have no free will. A loaded gun will sit on a table for eternity without every shooting anyone. It's the people (and more importantly), the culture that is the root cause of crime. Guns have no say in the matter. It's not guns. It's the people.
Hickeydog2365 2 months ago
@Hickeydog2365 You are correct in that. We are fascinated with violence for some reason.
But the fact still stands that if guns are made illegal to everyone then the criminals that do get them acquired them illegally and this is a very small number.
WFSW32 2 months ago
@WFSW32 so you accept the fact that only criminals would have them? WTF!?!?
bluegrassreb1 2 months ago
@bluegrassreb1 Yes. If someone has a gun they would have acquired it legally.

LOL... If someone tried to car-jack me with just an airsoft gun I'd get out of the car and beat the shit out of them and then shot them.
aerhearts 3 months ago
They missed the point. If everyone carried a gun in their car, car jackers would Not exist. Same reason criminals don't attack police stations but have attacked schools. No one wants a fair fight. The idea behind a gun is to create and uneven balance of power. He with the gun has a great advantage over those without. Not so much when everyone is armed! That's why gun crimes are lower in areas where gun ownership is plentiful.
liljimmylv 3 months ago
@liljimmylv I really don't think that if everyone was armed violent crime would significantly decrease. I also think that if someone had a gun trained on you, you wouldn't really be able to out-draw and incapacitate them unless they were frozen.
wikieditspam 3 months ago
@wikieditspam Doesn't matter what we think, It's a fact! In concealed carry environments (places where citizens carry their guns, or have the option to) violent crimes are measurably less than in gun free zones. 2nd point, the chance of someone pointing a gun at me is minimal when they know others are carrying a gun. I don't have to out draw because the criminal thinks twice about using a gun when theres a chance he'll have one pointing back at him. No one goes looking for a fair gun fight.
liljimmylv 3 months ago
@liljimmylv It's still not a fact that car jacking would completely go away, nor any crime for that matter. There's a difference between measurable decrease, and complete cessation of crime; that's a fact. Also the scenario in the video is of a lone gunman attacking a driver with apparently no-one within shooting distance watching the crime happen.
wikieditspam 3 months ago
Funny video. But.... yea airsoft is really dumb and I don't get the obsession.

TheLavish99 4 months ago
@TheLavish99 You must not be aware of current gun laws. All the type of people you listed are already not legally allowed to purchase a gun.
GreenSkyy87 4 months ago

MavHunter20XX 4 months ago
@MavHunter20XX If a kid is carrying a realistic toy in public, it's because HE WANTS to pretend he has a gun, and I have no problem if he gets shot (like what happened early this year, the kid was told to stop and he pulled the gun on a cop).
If they paint it orange, parents will think it's a toy and will NOT think of the consequences. Realistic replicas are NOT toys suitable for children anyway. They should be kept in bags when carried and only used in the appropriate places.
bf2lover42 4 months ago
@bf2lover42 Hence why I think Blank firing and airsoft guns are stupid.
MavHunter20XX 4 months ago
@MavHunter20XX I don't. If you are stupid enough to carry something that looks like a gun and not stop when you are told, you deserve to get shot. We don't need stupid people contaminating our gene pool.
I'm sorry to bring up Eugenetics here. But it's true. Each generation gets worse at parenting, and I don't need no uneducated children messing with my so far non-existant offspring.
Airsoft is godlike, by the way. Just expensive.
bf2lover42 4 months ago
@rstawarz111 They only need the orange tip for shipping and selling. When you use it you can paint it black because it's legal to paint real guns. Just don't take it on the streets or you will end up like that kid who got shot by a cop.

As this is in the category education, it should be educating. And in such a situation you probably will survive, if you don't have a gun, but probably will die, if you try to use a gun.
A situation in which it would actually be good to have a gun would be a school shooting for example.

Actually, guns are USELESS for self defense. Everyone knows the best way to deal with a criminal is get on your knees and blubber and plead for your life. Even better, offer to suck his dick. (Or even better than that, tell your wife/girlfriend to suck his dick.)

Gun ownership should be permitted only to those over the age of at least 25. That would solve a few problems.
ScooterMcBean 1 year ago
@ScooterMcBean Not really. This is why you have to take a course, and then a test here in Canada. When you are 18, you can get your license. There are a LOT of 18 year olds out in the rural areas that are responsible enough to own, and properly use a firearm.

@SUP3RZ0MB1E Don't know where you're from but I could legally hunt when I was 14 years old.

@ScooterMcBean Yeah you can hunt when you are 14. I mean, firearms license. You cant get that until you are 14.
Not sure what the second part of your post is about. I dont know if you think I am trying to argue, or what....
SUP3RZ0MB1E 1 year ago
@SUP3RZ0MB1E I am all for responsible long gun ownership in Canada. Unfortunately there is a disconnect with too many Canadian urban dwellers who hear "gun" and think "handgun" or who think that hunting is evil. This is why politicians introduced bill c-68 back in the 90's. Still handgun fascination is a youthful, macho kind of thing.
ScooterMcBean 1 year ago

@roark02 Handguns have been restricted weapons in Canada for 60 years but you still hear about kids popping each other every few days here.
