  • Great song, I've been looking for the music to it. I'm going to have to get my guitar to try to follow the notation because I can't seen to "hear" it. I'll let you know how I do and maybe have a question, okay?

  • No problem at all. If the notation isn't clear, just ask. I'm happy to help.

  • get the songbook "Rise Up Singing." You need it. It is THE folk anthem.

  • That's my favourite verse, too.

  • Oh, good. Thanks for watching the video. It makes me feel worthwhile when people comment.

  • Hi

    Matthew...

I couldn't agree with you more then when you say that Malvina is an American treasure. She will always remain in the present for her songs of social commentary are always relevant and universal in expression.

Here you have proven just how this song is of today, even though it had been written over forty years ago. Long live the folk song process. Talented and socially conscience young people such as yourself are American treasures as well.

    Peace,

    Max

  • What? A song that Pete Seeger sang that I haven't heard? Unacceptable! I love this song. Five stars, favorited.

  • Matthew, you should check out the YouTube channel for peglegsam. It has a lot of clips from Pete Seeger's TV show from the sixties, including a few with Malvina Reynolds.

By the way, I've had fun browsing through your clips. Thanks for posting.
