  • I want dude working on my truck!

  • This video is great if you have access to all the tools and you have a lift to do the work properly as you are doing it in this video, buy I mean if this is a TRD mod, why can toyota offer such a pckage as an option, like it does for a GPS, sun roof..I am sure many would take the option if it was done straight at the factory and not at a dealership!...I am sure it's been asked but i am just curious as to why not.

  • is there anykind of timing you need to do with the charger?

  • @pimprock23

No. Just bolt in on and GO!

  • What does your dealership typically charge for installation? either by hours or by $?

    Thank you

  • @evilet1111

Dealerships have a set amount of hours for each task that's already calculated. If you read the comments from this video or part one, you'll find some comments on it.

  • HI quick question. With the NEW TRD supercharger installed how much Horse Power and TORQUE can u get right off the bat? meaning with out any further computer tuning. I hope you get this question with out confusion. Thanks, Great VIDEO by the way!

  • @jeffraymma2

You HAVE to flash the computer with the factory tuning or it won't run properly and engine damage will most likely occur. Oh and that's 515hp and 550 torque. Thanks!

  • Man you Guys are Pros! Good Job, come work on my mazda LOL

  • Ok sweet. Are the stats and installation of the supercharger for the Tundra the same as the Tacoma?

  • @ducati848e

The concept is the same. The procedure is completely different.

  • Question when it comes to the fuel system....you say it replaces the original pump, but all pressure remains the same. Why can't you use the pump that comes on the truck?

Is it the same process to install the system on the Tacoma?

How many PSI's does the TRD supercharger kit produce?

  • Question when it comes to the fuel system....you say it replaces the original pump, but all pressure remains the same. Why can't you use the pump that comes on the truck?

  • @ducati848e

The original pump doesn't provide enough volume of fuel. The charger produces 8 lbs of boost

  • Dear Sir, how many hours/minutes did it take you to completely install it?

    Thanks

  • @DrAlShammari89

    10 hours the first time.

  • WOW! This Guy is Super Professional and kinda kool @ the same tyme. If I'm able to get this mod, he will be the one to install it. What dealship is he located at?

  • @xXSLYXxx

He's no longer at a dealership. He has his own garage however.

  • So I cant use my oil cooler anymore?

  • @dragstar7039

That's not correct. If you have a Tundra with an oil cooler, then the instructions are slightly different. But you will still use your oil cooler. Our Tundra didn't have an oil cooler, so we didn't need the oil cooler lines included with the kit. If you have an aftermarket oil cooler, you will have to rearrange the lines to fit around the air-to-water intercooler.

  • DAM THIS GUYS IS SHORT

  • will this fit a 5.7L land cruiser?

  • @omarspence

Not at this time. The engine placement in relation to the hood is not possible with the supercharger kit that works for the Tundra and Sequoia. Although there are some vehicle's overseas that have reportedly done it....

  • how much do you think someone would charge to install a supercharger on a ford explorer sport trac 2001? OR can you make a video of the installation?

  • Apply oil to the injector O-ring so the rubber does not become damage and slip right into the injector hole.

  • Geez. It seems like over 90% of this job is taking shit apart lol

  • @TonyMalone13

But the other 10% is driving past Corvettes!

  • @FloridaSPL you wish

  • @drdoom554

    Faster than a C5 and will spook a C6 :)

  • @FloridaSPL I am able to do all of this at home but how do I flash my ECU is there special software ?

    Excellent video

  • @TupacTheRealest1

You'll have to have your truck towed to the dealership or you can send your ECU to a third party. It's not something you can do yourself.

  • Professional until that last bit in the end haha

  • I really love this video. I really would love to install a supercharger on a '99 Ford Ranger 3.0 liter V6. I am a student in an automotive school, I hope that I can get to learn how to do these more exciting and more complicated procedures. Great vid. Do they sell superchargers for 3.0 '99 Ford Ranger's? Also would I need to rebuild the engine to prepare it for this procedure if I were to do it?

  • @earlybird38

Apparently whipple made one for the '99 3.0, but stopped. So you will need to get one second hand. Rebuilding the engine is not necessary, but would definitely give you a more stable platform to start with. Why not put a v8 in that ranger?

  • @FloridaSPL That is a good idea, I have really been thinking a lot about putting like a 289 or a 302 in that truck but right now this truck is my daily driver but I will definatly consider doing that. If I need to do that I would need to change the ECU out and the harnesses right?

  • @earlybird38

Right. Google it. There's tons of info on how-to. Good luck!

  • @earlybird38 What school do you go to because im interested in automotive things also

  • @malex102 I go to northshore technical college in Louisiana

  • How do I get hired? I can do this no sweat.

  • i have the 5.7L v8 tundra and i want to supercharge it but idk how much its gonna cost me, after all the parts that i need for it how much do you think its gonna cost me?

  • @FrankieDills91

With 'retail' prices and labor you should spend around $8k. If you have more than one dealer near you, shop around.

  • you are really helpfull. is it posible for you to install a turbo or a supercharger on a 01 v6 mustang

  • @DIENAMICProductions

There are several kits available for V6 mustangs. If you bring the car to us in Florida and the kit we can install it for you.

  • thnxxxx maan

can u show us how to install turbo ?

    i have ford mondeo 2008

and u r really gd teacher

u teach me new things about how to install the supercharger

    thnx aloot again

  • @sudan55

Sorry. I can't show you that. But thanks for the compliment.

  • is this the trd supercharger Dyno?

  • @manning55

    What do you mean?

  • @manning55 idk in other videos it say something with Dyno so i ws wondering what that was. And would this work on tacoma?

  • @manning55

A Dyno is a test for the car that calculates the power a car is pushing to the wheel.

Any car and every car can do it. As long as you have the right dyno test.

A Dyno test is a stationary test meaning the cars wheels move wheels.

  • man i haven't seen this guy sens truck u, on speed tv, i remember him ,he knows his stuff, about trucks!

  • i think ill just pay to have it installed lol

  • omg i love cars so much but i wish i knew as much from them as you!

  • I've been on pause for 3 months. I think i need help.

  • damn tats hella work... better off juss let the factory do it for u haha

  • If fuel pressure remains unchanged from the original spec, then what is the point of changing the pump ?

  • @Maximusfool

More horsepower in an engine is to increase the volume air and fuel it consumes. The supercharger forces more air into the engine to accomplish this goal. So now you need more fuel to balance the equation. The new fuel pump operates at the same pressure, but supplies more volume of fuel per second. The computer then compensates for a variety of factors by changing the timing and dwell of the injectors when necessary to supply the correct amount of fuel for efficient combustion

  • nice burnout at the end

  • @avpdud3

    Thanks!!

  • why would the fuel pump be swapped out if there is no pressure change?

  • @soldier4God01

    See response.

  • Good mechanic!

  • Excellent Video, very professional!!

  • wow so complicated.. it seems easier to buy a car and put in a turbo lol

  • One of the best instructional videos ive seen!

  • I love this video. Helped me and a friend install the TRD Supercharger on his new Tundra without a hitch. Definately going to subscribe to FloridaSPL! Your attention to detail was fantastic, we're both idiots at mechanical work, but with this we felt like professionals; which is kinda scary.

  • Say I wanted you to do the install of my SC, what dealership do I bring my truck to?

  • why do u need to invert the radiator hose?

  • Buzz, dont get me wrong this vid was very helpful for my install. I know the manual says you need to remove the bumper cover and drain the fluid out of the block but for any DIYs out there I can assure you the draining the fluid out of the rad is all that is needed and the LTR, pump, hoses and wiring can EASILY be installed without removing the bumper cover, retainer & rad support bracket. This saved me a bunch of time on the install and didnt compromise install quality.

    Thanks again

    ~JH

  • i want a trd supercharger on my 2000 4runner!!!!!

  • ooooooooh

    what a complicated kit !!!!

I love Chevy, because your children can fix it in the garage

  • Very good very instructional appreciated greatly

  • excellent video sir! the person in the video is very illustrative and was helpful...hats off!

  • chuck liddell!!!

  • omg he speaks a lot !!!!!!!

  • Excellent instructional video, very professional and well explained

  • Thanks!

  • Hey FloridaSPL i have a V6 Toyota hilux (SR5) 2009 model. I am Australian and just curious if there is a supercharger available for this engine. Thanks mate

  • look up trd or toyota racing developments website. they have all their products on their.

  • BAD ASS TRUCK

    Best instruction video ever,

does this kit fits 5.7 Lexus LX570 it does have the same exact engine?

    any suggestions

  • No. This particular kit is for the Tundra only. There is a kit for the Sequoia, but not for the Lexus at this time.

  • @Cold11Fire Never head of it. Lexus LX 470.

  • cool video! thanks for taking the time to make it.

  • Nice "how to" and very nice attention to detail in the way you do maintenance. I would actually trust you to do work on my truck (and I trust very few people)

  • Thanks for the confidence!

  • How much does it cost to just have toyota do all this?

  • Your local dealer will charge somewhere in the range of 9 hours labor. Their rates differ though. Give them a call.

  • wow this is way too much work...

  • if you think that a factory kit where everything goes into place perfectly is too much work, don't attempt to piece a forced induction kit on your own. That's about five times as much work!

  • @fakenphoney There's no way too much work for mechanics lol

  • what's the name of that tool @ 6:26?

  • Those are a set of slip-joint pliers.

  • Massive slip joint pliers

  • its a very large pair of channel locks

  • very well explained

  • Good Stuff, Buzz & Co. Thanks!

  • top vid

  • A very well explained process. You have a lot of mechanical knowledge. I wonder how that affects the gas mileage by adding SC.

  • Danm I wonder how much more fuel is consumed by bolting on the SC. I know that fuel effficency and truck should never be used on the same sentence, but i can only imagine the dollars adding up by the fuel used.

  • Lov the Vid, If only you can make one on how to install one on my 79 Capri

  • This is a Great video! The speed in witch the information flows is awesome! I look forward to watching more of your videos! Best of luck!

  • Awesome video! I thought I was watching Power Block for a minute...

I still don't have the balls to do this in my garage, but seeing how well the kit is built makes me feel a little more comfortable about buying it. Are most toyota mechanics well qualified to do this type of work?

  • Yes. Your dealership has a qualified technician.

  • i have two quistions is it basicly the same to installe the trd in a 72 chevelle, and how much more hp dose it give?

  • This kit will not fit a stock 72 Chevelle. We recorded a 120 HP increase.

  • i know the trd will not go into a 72 chevelle i mean about a normal superchager, and how much would a good supercharger coast

  • why does the fuel pump need changing if the fuel pressure remains unchanged?

  • The beefier pump keeps the pressure where it needs to be, whereas the stock pump would possibly be overtaxed under hard acceleration; larger injectors = higher flow rate, stronger pump = prevents starving the engine

  • lol, pressure and rate-of-flow are two totally different things

  • man i wanna learn about this...it looks comlicated tho

  • Can you make a video of this truck from 0-60 or 0-115

  • We've got something like that on the way. Stay tuned :)

  • wow you look damn small standing in front of that truck

  • Wow, what a great video. Is the installation of a Vortech supercharger similar?

  • Can this supercharger be put on a 5.7L Seqoiua?

  • Yes. It requires a different install kit than the Tundra. Ask at your dealer.

  • wow...wat about installing a twin turbo from supra 2 5.7 tundra..is it a posible?

  • hey any chance they make these for the toyota hilux 4.0v6 and any prices {australia}

    cheers thanks for your help

  • does this supercharger kit work with the lexus LX570?

  • No...

  • ok.. do u know if there is a supercharger kit for the LX570?

  • Awesome explaination/presentation.

(Hope you took good notes Ford/GM.)

  • does it come with the tunner or can you install the tune your self via pc or what?

  • As stated in the video, the dealership flashes the computer. There are no other methods of making adjustments outside of the dealership flash.

  • what does the full install run,

i just got a 08 with the tow setup.

i have the skills/and tools to do my self thats why i asked about the tune. also are there any smaller pullys or any other stand alone tunner (handhelds) out there. thanks again.

  • The dealership usually charges 9hr's of labor and each has different rates. You can do the install at home, and then have the truck towed to the dealership for the computer flash. You'd have to call your local dealership for rates.

The pulley that comes on the S/C is pretty small. We're not sure what else it out there, the S/C seems to do just fine as it is.

  • toyota fuck every other brand ass...

  • Wow this guy is so competent and efficient it's almost too much!

  • well close enough..lol..man i missed seeing him i dont really watch that anymore. i didnt care for that other guy, i guess he was supposed to be the funny one.

  • hey that guy used to be on the show on spike "TRUCK".

  • Buzz was on the Speed Channel show "Truck Universe"

  • why do you change the fuel pump if preasure remains the same

  • To make more horsepower in an engine is to increase the volume air and fuel it consumes. The supercharger forces more air into the engine to accomplish this goal. So now you need more fuel to balance the equation. The new fuel pump operates at the same pressure, but supplies more volume of fuel per second. The computer then compensates for a variety of factors by changing the timing and dwell of the injectors when necessary to supply the correct amount of fuel for efficient combustion.

  • nice vids but this doesnt help me i want to put a supercharger on a 95 ford escortwagon

    thanks tho

  • wwaahhooo go buzz lol i like watching this guy work lol ah who neeeds spike tv anyway huh lol
