Extremely bad service, 2day was the 2nd time they messed up. I once booked a van and when I got there, I received a message telling me that the van wasn’t available but they’ve changed my booking to a Fiat 500. Today I booked an Alfa Romeo Mito, took a cab to Kings Cross St Pancras and when I got there I get a message telling me my bookings cancelled and that I should now travel to Brunswick Sq and pick up a Fiat 500. No doubt I'll take this further and cancel this useless service.
Mr Cunningham (chap in this video who seemed pleasant and reasonable ) agreed to sort this out and apologised for the oversight. I was given many reasons for the various charges and the economics of making enough money out of a hire car before returning it to the manufacturer - as if I care! I still believe I have been overcharged and hope this comment arrives faster than either my text message or emails as I would like this issue sorting immediately.
Hertz attempted to charge me £2,200 for a car when in a desperate situation in Spain. This was a car that needed repatriating and should not have incurred any one-way fees. It should also have been at a usual car rental rate i.e. not inflated due to thousands of people trying to hire a car! Upon my return to the UK I recorded my own YOU Tube video and spoke to Mr Cunningham about Hertz seemingly profiteering from the volcano crisis.
