@TheMcBurglar Not really she was very proactive, she took the charge to take out Erik which started the whole domino effect of Foa Foa going to the final 3. She also built relationships with Galu just in case anything crazy happened while Russell didn't even consider that an option. Natalie did a good job of stroaking Russell's ego and thats why he took her to the end, she played him like a fiddle.

@Sal30 Alligning yourside with the strong people is a strategy, and making yourself little and "not a threat" is also a strategy. Anybody who wins survivor is the best player of their season. Juries haven't changed the edit of the show has . All you need now is to have someone to find a bunch of Hidden Immunituy Idols and have 50 confessionals saying what a mastermind they are and people buy it hook line and sinker.
Also, yes, Russell WOULD have went home that night if Mike Borassi stayed. Natalie and Mick (who were with Russell) said that they would have swapped over too if the vote was going to be 5-4. What saved Russell is the fact that Mike was medivacted.

I've already replied to your other comment. Probst called Survivor the "ultimate social experiment". It's a social game above everything else. Even if Russell has a strong strategic game (keyword, if) he has to adapt to the environment. His strategy might've worked with some other cast, but he didn't read Samoa's well enough. He should've shaped his strategy to fit S19, not some other season

You can't play the game perfectly and lose, seeing as the point of the game is to get the jury votes.

Russell backstabbed people just to say that he backstabbed them. There was NO point in about 85% of the moves Russell made in the game. That's the difference. Richard did what he had to do to win, and nothing else. Russell tried to do a whole bunch of moves that were stupid and not necessary.

Shambo actually thought up and initiated the Kelly boot. She solidified she was with Galu, told them to vote Russ, and then thought up booting Kelly. All Russell did was play the idol. Plus, numerous other players used the idol to save themselves and blindside people, it wasn't that special.
Talking to John is one of Russell's only good moves. It was good, but it wasn't great. All he had to say was ' If you don't switch you can go home.'

Russell is not the best player in Survivor history. A good Survivor player is one who is able to play a great strategic game without pissing the jury off. Past winners like Tom, JT, and Yul had great strategic games and remained likeable by the jury. All Russell cared about was eliminating competition. He did not even think about how he is going to avoid pissing the jury off.

Natalie only won because the contestant's didn't like Russell, so they chose her as an alternative.
Yeah, Russell isn't nice, but he knows how to play. He is by far the superior player.

@TheMcBurglar Not really she was very proactive, she took the charge to take out Erik which started the whole domino effect of Foa Foa going to the final 3. She also built relationships with Galu just in case anything crazy happened while Russell didn't even consider that an option. Natalie did a good job of stroaking Russell's ego and thats why he took her to the end, she played him like a fiddle.

I have really enjoyed this season but the jury were a bunch of assholes who took what russell did way too personal. He was the better player and he lost to someone that did pretty much nothing. @Sal30 Alligning yourside with the strong people is a strategy, and making yourself little and "not a threat" is also a strategy. Anybody who wins survivor is the best player of their season. And I wasn't surprise at all that Natalie won Samoa because Russell acted like a jerk with all the Galu member. He didn't control the jury at all.

Also, yes, Russell WOULD have went home that night if Mike Borassi stayed. Natalie and Mick (who were with Russell) said that they would have swapped over too if the vote was going to be 5-4. What saved Russell is the fact that Mike was medivacted.

I've already replied to your other comment. Probst called Survivor the "ultimate social experiment". It's a social game above everything else. Even if Russell has a strong strategic game (keyword, if) he has to adapt to the environment. His strategy might've worked with some other cast, but he didn't read Samoa's well enough. He should've shaped his strategy to fit S19, not some other season

He also did quite a bit for his tribe, catching fish, so, I don't exactly see why that's there.
You can't play the game perfectly and lose, seeing as the point of the game is to get the jury votes.

Russell backstabbed people just to say that he backstabbed them. There was NO point in about 85% of the moves Russell made in the game. That's the difference. Richard did what he had to do to win, and nothing else. Russell tried to do a whole bunch of moves that were stupid and not necessary.

Shambo actually thought up and initiated the Kelly boot. She solidified she was with Galu, told them to vote Russ, and then thought up booting Kelly. All Russell did was play the idol. Plus, numerous other players used the idol to save themselves and blindside people, it wasn't that special.
Talking to John is one of Russell's only good moves. It was good, but it wasn't great. All he had to say was ' If you don't switch you can go home.'
And, it wasn;t 50/50 for Natalie idiot

@mrgoodfight14 There was an alliance of 5/9 to boot Russell second. But, when Mike was medivacted the alliances were split 4/4, and NATALIE was the one who convinced everyone to sway their vote to Betsy. Russell had no clue.
So, Russell would have been gone second, had someone not been medivacted.
And, you can't be the greatest, make it to the end and lose.
Russell blindsides as many people as possible because he thinks blindsiding a lot of people makes you a good player.

Russell is not the best player in Survivor history. A good Survivor player is one who is able to play a great strategic game without pissing the jury off. Past winners like Tom, JT, and Yul had great strategic games and remained likeable by the jury. All Russell cared about was eliminating competition. He did not even think about how he is going to avoid pissing the jury off.

Getting to the end is one thing but playing in such a way that it actually gets you votes is a whole different story. He played in such a way that it only appealed to two people, which is not enough to win.
Next season, I doubt his bull-in-a-china-shop game play will impress the likes of veterans who have big egos. Trust me, they won't take lightly to people who play at their expense.

@seanGthegodcharged51 If he was the best, don't you think he should have thought of gaining votes? And since when was a p*ss poor performance at gaining votes excused?
This petulant child can't even hold a candle to the likes of Rich, Chris, Yul, Todd, Parvati and JT. They systematically took out their competition yet they did so in such a way that they still got votes.

What was natalies strategy? Do hardly anything and stay under the radar the entire time so at the end the people who make the votes wont have anything against you? They should have made the votes come from the public via phone and sms. Then we would have seen who the real winner is.

@eatmyplum In fairness, we just get to see, at best, 10% of what goes on, so we don't have any rights to vote for the best player. Russell's lucky he got the $100k.
At least the plan of sticking with a complete tool, letting him bulldoze a path, and coming off as an angel in the end worked out for her, didn't it?
FYI, she played this fool big time by doing that.
