  • mmmhmm all i hear in the first is talking

  • Fantastic video! Can't hardley get too much of this tune can you? Seems to be several different keys Maple Sugar is played in mostly D & G but some do E & A?

  • My first love was Wildwood Flower played by Mother Maybelle quite a few years ago.

My second was when I first heard Maple Sugar.

I'm glad to hear that there are so many versions of this tune as I don't think I'll be able to come close to dedepick's posting but hope springs eternal.

    thanks for yours

  • Wonderful guys...to wardalien,,,do I wish I could play by ear...I personally believe there is more feeling in music played by ear.

  • YEAH will the Folklore center in Ottawa Ontario has collections of Ward Allen music. check them out on the web I suppose. I do everything by ear and cannot read music (shame on me but I can read xml ;)

  • Is there anyway i can get the sheet music for that? The version that i can play isn't as great as yours. So yeah id really appreciate if you can get me the sheet music, you guys are awsome.

  • The tune is in the Phillps Collection Vol 2. Great tune. And there's as many versions as there are fiddlers. Even Appalachian. But there's no mistaking the Canadian sound, eh.
