Steven Tyler wrote this about how frustrated he was with the band. They were doing a lot of drugs at the time and tensions often ran high, especially between Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry. The song is also a statement about doing your own thing without letting others bring you down.

A sugar packet... what a great musical instrument almost as good as the bass maramba. I still remember where I was when I 1st heard this song. I ran out to buy the cassette and I found Toys In the Attic at a Bradlees (wow) Took a shovel and a few colored towels a small piece of wood and duck tape... ripped the towels up and I taped them with the wood around the top of the shovel and had my first Steven Tyler mic stand.

So........how many of y'all out there know the REAL story of the session of this song? Aerosmith was contracted to record in N.Y. city. Unfortunately when they got there, someone had stolen alot of their equipment. In the very beginning of this song.....when it sounds like maracas....it's actually Steven shaking two sugar packets together in front of the mike. Truth. Don't believe me? Look it up.
