  • David Givens is still alive and well.

I last saw Zephyr in Boulder at Tologi's (sp?) ca. Sept 80

  • Bolin and Metheny are the best ever...

  • It may be live footage but did you dub in audio from studio cuts?

  • So what happened to the audio .really

  • @musicjoe1390 she is kind of like Ian gillian

  • I LOVED BOLIN WITH ZEPHYR CANDY WAS LIKE A JOPLIN BLUES SINGER LOVED GOING TO COLORADO

  • @musicjoe1390 Ever occur to you that "THE KING" was in this band voluntarily?

  • @musicjoe1390 Then don't listen. Takes all kinds.

  • Great guitar work by Bolin.

  • Unfortunately Candy passed away years back of an overdose.

  • Oh my fucking GOD! I used to see them in the park in Boulder!!!!!!!!!!They were the best band north of Macon, Ga.and I had the best time of my life then. This is a typical performance. It brings tears to this old biker's eyes.

  • @andy131481 - me too! Takes me back and it was great!

  • @andy131481 Hey just a short note--saw Tommy and Energy at Boulder Reservoir for fifty cents! Would have been 1972 or thereabouts... those were good days. Cheers!

  • very cool very historic and they need to be remembered and man i love watching Candy

  • very cool very historic and they need to be remembered

  • The cameraman appears to have imbibed a couple of litres of white lightining before donning his roller skates.

  • This band always exited me and now i know a lot has to do with the energy of

Tommy Bolin, well Respect to you mate. Never had any problem with this craazy woman singer, great band :)

  • Saw Zephyr in Detroit on a nice quad bill: December 19-20, 1969: Terry Reid / Zephyr / Head Over Heels / Catfish. Do kids get to hear stuff that nice today? Terry is still great!

  • Great footage..I really liked this band back in the day. The were supposed to open for for BB King in Dec 69 at the Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati but did not show Too bad.I was really looking forward to seeing them and rocking out. Needles to say in 1969 BB ,who was at his best at that time, rocked the place solid with his big band. Candy does sound a bit tinny on some of this stuff but...You go girl!!!!!!!! I think (through the haze) that I saw Tommy with the James Gang in 75. Damn shame.

  • @yippierb We didn't show because we didn't know about it. Sorry.

  • Who's that monster bass player!!!

  • @WhiteNacho The bass player is David Givens, who I believe is the singers (Candy Givens) brother.....

  • Excellent hard rock. I would love to have seen these guys but was unaware of them until '73 when my college roomate played me their first album. So far I've seen great film footage from the Texas Int. Pop Festival-Zeppelin,Ten Years After and now Zephyr>Does anyone know if there is a video of the festival available ? Judging from what I've seen so far it must have been a fantastic lineup.

  • I saw Zephyr in the park in Boulder Aug 69 first guitar player with an echoplex What I DID did not know is that he was 18 like me what a talent never forget absent friends

  • Man, this is such good shit! She sounds just like Janis. And Tommy was one of the greatest guitarest ever to walk the earth. He sounds soooo good. This was a pleasure to see and I'm glad you posted this one. Thank you very much.

  • There were sooo many fine chick singers at that time other than Janis. Candy was one, Genya Raven and Ten Wheel Drive, Gail McCormick and Smith. Tracy Nelson and Mother Earth out of Austin. Bonnie Bramlett. Tons of them. I gained my first appreciation of women in leather pants courtesy of Bonnie Bramlett at the TIPF.

  • Glad to see this back on YouTube. This is historic footage. Candy was great. Tommy was 17 and a prodigy.
