I couldn't stop smiling whilst watching this, I enjoyed it immensely! The coloratura is beautiful as is the acting! The Russian audience seemed rather uninspired though at the end??
I agree! I also enjoyed it immensely! Perhaps Sumi, such a great actress apeared before w Dmitri in one if his shows for his beloved public, and Sumi was courteously by Dmitri (DH always a gentleman) and she could´t sing a single word in russian. Also I thought the she was a bit "rempli de soi meme" in front of tne russians--But both are great fun in this aria--See her performance w Dmitri which is still more fun in Korealso here in YT, posted by smoothiw!---KRegards---THx frufruJ !!!

I like Hvorostovsky's voice. I heard him singing on the Red Square on May 9. I was really amazed by that performance.
