Charlton Heston seemed to wear the same sunglasses in alot of his movies. The sunglasses he's wearing in this movie seemed to be the same ones he wore back in the 1958 movie, Touch of Evil, 1976's Midway and 2 Minute Warning, and several others. He must of like them that much! In the movie 2 Minute Warning, He kept taking them on and off in almost every scene he was in. Anyhow I loved the way he looked wearing these sunglasses.
I have the 3 versions, ie the last man on earth, omega man, and I am legend. Personally, my favorite is Omega Man, probably due to Heston´s acting and the Family´s approach to give purpose to their lives, namely, by burning books and hunting Neville at night...
i saw this on tv one night on my birthday in november i seen the last man on earth and i am legend this the second best the first one i liked the most because it has vincent price
If this had been the official video to what was a great song but inane video (Coery Hart and his thinly disguised B and D fantasies LOL)- it may have been a more enduring classic rather than a 1 minute wonder.
I like this, it's so awsome and if any of you guys play resident evil, the guy with the sunglasses should be Albert Wesker. Putting the omega man/ I'am Legend and resident evil together as a ultimate movie.
this is one of those movies that gave me nightmares when I was a kid because it reminded me of some of the people who lived in the projects nearby my grandparents neighborhood. They wore hoodies instead of cowls but still stalked the streets at night wearing shades.
Listen up, you creatures of "The Wheel!" Great news for all you lovers of this awesome Ron Grainer soundtrack! Film Score Monthly just re-released it, as "The Omega Man: 2.0 Unlimited." BAR with an infrared scope. That screams badass. I read "I am legend", and even if this doesnt follow the plot exactly, i think this will be worth watching.
I also saw Omega Man in the mid 70s when I was a kid. I thought it was the coolest. Mathias and his family creeped me out and I liked it when Heston mowed 'em down with his machinegun.

Sweet. One of my all time favorite movies. My all time favorite book. We all owe Richard Mathison a big thank you... espeacialy George A. Romero... ps thanxx for well placed dialog Anthony Zerbe was a major part of this film to me
I havent seen this picture since 71 when I was 14 and saw it at the Sheridan Drive-In on 79th Street in Chicago - forgot what a great movie it is. Time to dig it up on DVD and watch it again. Just remembered the other day what the name of the movie with Robert Blake as a motorcycle cop was (ElectraGlide in Blue) and found it for rent at a local shop that has gobs of old movies on tape and DVD, maybe he has this too. I still like the original rockabilly soundtrack but this is fitting.
Mr. Heston You creature of the wheel, Lord of the infernal engines, Master of the silver screen, we and all those who appreciate your work both on screen and off salute you. Job well done and we bid you, farewell Omega Man.
I think that was a much better sountrack than the original, which sounds like bad elevator music. Still, a thoroughly enjoyable film and one of Heston's better roles. RIP.
I TOTALLY disagree that "I Am Legend" was even worth the price of admission. It relied almost totally on computer animation, "the family" had some personality. Will Smith doing a tread mill with his dog after a Night of the Living Dead. The current version was SO hokey. Will Smith did to this movie what he did to "Wild Wild West."
Omega Man is far superior movie than I AM LEGEND. Which is almost verbatem remake of Omega. I'll take The Family over The Infected any day. By the way great vid.
Good times for sure! Reminds me of our soroity house making the Freshmen walk back and forth like shooting gallery ducks, while we threw beer bottles at them
Just imagine Will Smith except as an idiot. I Am Legend is better. I Am Legend has good acting, where as her, "My god, it's almost dark! They'll be waking up soon"! After a few years you'd think he'd be used to the concept.
I haven't heard the album cut of this song in forever! I am so tired of hearing the butchered single version. The guitar solo in the bridge of the song (that was cut out of the single) really makes this song shine.
Strange...I saw the one with will smith, but why in this version the "zombies" (didn't find another word) are wise and the the one with will smith they are just like animals? isn't the same book?
Both films changed the book a lot but in different ways. In the book there are two stages to the disease - when they're infected but still alive they behave like vampires but have some degree of human behaviour left, when they die the disease reanimates the body and they act like dumb zombie vampires.
@thentobefearless Back during this time there were a hell of a lot more original ideas. All movies these days are fucking remakes of good movies back in the day. If youre going by that standpoint that you hate movies based on books or older films then you must be a really pissed off person.

Because she was older. Remember, it was stated earlier in the movie that others took a while to change, while some changed in a fraction of time. Lisa was one of those that changed in a short period of time.

I thought I'd better clarify the origin of THE OMEGA MAN. It was loosely based on Richard Matheson's 1954 novel I AM LEGEND.
I AM LEGEND was first adapted on film as THE LAST MAN ON EARTH in 1964, starring Vincent Price.
The latest 2007 film, I AM LEGEND, with Will Smith is the third adaptation of the novel.
