He is exposed when he slips, he drops his right hand before the uppercut. This would leave him vulnerable if the opponent follows up with a left hook. Just saying
@righthander26 there are certain training exercises you can do at home but you wont be able to progress as much without interaction of other people who would be at a gym.
@righthander26 I agree with hondaonly, I've recently started boxing and the experience I gain from other members at my boxing gym is invaluable to the point that without this my progress would be severely slowed however it is not a bad idea to start a fitness regime at home perhaps in preparation for when you do decide to join a gym. It may also be valuable to look for alternative gyms that are not huge financial investments like the commercial gyms you find everywhere. Look for a small gym :)
@righthander26 like all sports, there is a technical side to it. you would be at a huge disadvantage if you didn't know how to develop that technique. I guess u could learn the technique yourself but its much faster to learn with a good trainer.
@righthander26 if you know someone that can box well that u can train with at home you can learn a great deal, most of my boxing lessons have taken place in garages lol
@righthander26 if you really want to learn you should do whatever it takes, try a part time job on the side to pay for your gym all you need is about 100 dollars for the gym and 100 dollars for proteins and bcaa amino acids a month it is worth it!!
@righthander26 Go to your local club! Boxing clubs are cheap, and tell them you don't have much cash and maybe offer to help clean up or anything for gym time. They will be more than happy to get someone in off the street. I first started going to an amateur club in about 1993 and it was free, but even since then the last amateur club I was at just a few years ago was 5 pounds per week (British) and I train at a pro club for 30 pounds per month. Its cheap, and u need 2 spar 2 learn. All the best.
the best technique in boxing is bodey rotation with stems from ankle rotation that the difference in power and reach (Y) people lean into punches thinking it will give the more power and rwach all that will do is leave u open to a can of whoopass :P uppercuts dosnt encorperate this they use momentum built up from ur legs
I've seen this video a few times now, and i didn't see that he actually could punch him in the face when the trainer was trying to hit him. Awesome, and quick.
It's many reason for these "amateurs", doing that. One particular reason, is that you help your fighter, develop coremuscles, and let him/her get a feel for the impact.
@bigdaddy2993 how exaclty would u prefer them to do it? ive always been trained that way and im trained by real professionals u want to mee the mitts almost hlf way to their glove but everyone has their diff training style i understand that no one way is right
i don't see the point in watching a video like this one just to post bad comments... i'ts easy to sit behind a computer and criticize saying that your techinique is so good and they're doing it wrong, but if you're that good then just go to a boxing gym and train, arguing about martial arts and combat over the internet is so silly "oh, u're not good, i can do this and that, i can headickick your ass in 3 secs" ...whatever, you can pretend to be who you want but prolly u're just a 11 year old kid
Hey all i just started training in my mates shed got all the bags and gear but im just throwin haymakers do boxing trainers ever teach you if you have no real desire to get in the ring...Just to learn proper technique for fun and fitness..??
@TDSnet - Yeah they should still teach you the basics but if you dont want to compete then they wont spend as much time with you as their other fighters, There are 2 or 3 guys that come to my Boxing gym purely for fitness and so they can learn how to defend themselves. Good luck........
bro those uppercuts are wild he should tighten those up first do more skipping and lose some of that muscle...look at manny paquio nothing to him= superior speed
@petrakis0007 i cant figure out but, is he really that strong, or is the trainer just slamming the mits into his fist to make it sound harder than what it really is...
@SASRftw You have to, as you put it, "slam" the mitts into his gloves because if you dont, over time, punching too much with full arm extension can hurt your elbows. So, the short story is that the trainers do that to protect their fighters' elbows.
@SASRftw is he really that strong??? its just leather slamming u wont no if he hard till u get it in the face or ribs., the guy seems slow to me and not a big hitter.but he may be diffrent in a fight? who knows!
he's ok, but if you learn all the right techniques, it gives you a very comfortable angle and leverage, so the power basically comes naturally. The more you do it and more comfortable u get at it, the more power and speed you can generate from your punches.
@101trashtalker I am not sure the price of a "boxing" gym but I go to an "mma" gym and it's $75/mo if you are in school, and $100/mo if you aren't. And we have boxing classes as well hope this helps
to download vids on youtube look up real player on google the free version download it install it go on you tube and real player will pop up automatic asking if you want to download the video.
@101trashtalker The best thing to do is to find a gym that specializes in boxing and pay for sessions and practice where I go the price is £3.50 a session and then £35 for one to one training if you start to get serious good luck.
@bpp45 yeah but its all about reflexes.... if u react quick enough to block or dodge or something u will kick his ass if u know mma.......the problem is if he hits u once with a cheap shot ur done so its better to hit first even if u dont know if he will attack u and u wanna just walk away u gotta guess if he is gonna attack or not and if u think he is going to hit u then hit him first with anything or at least keep ur guard up (figure of speech) expect him to hit u dont be layed back
