we lost him! :( i loved damon with out him, pittitte and a-rod focusing and getting back on track we werent able to get 28 well we got 2 new defence players and some new pitchers 2012 is are year!!!
This was one of the greatest plays in World Series history and will always have a spot in Yankee lore. Too bad Damon decided he didn't want to comeback to NY. The Yankees offered him 2 years for $14 mil and he didn't even want to talk because he wanted $13 mil+ eventhough he's 36 and can't play defense. Now he's in Detroit for one year at $8 mil. He'll do well for them and the Tigers will have a good season, I just think it's too bad he let his ego get in the way of staying with the Yankees.
I think it was a bad choice that the yankees didn;t sign them but look at the team though they;re fill with high payed stacked players with the buget over 500mill......i think yankees couldn;t sign him because of the buget and the spending the yankees did last year,.....they';re limited now.
Smartest play EVER in World Series History. If Damon hadn't done this, Tex would have struck out, game over, and A Rod would not have had a chance to get to the plate.
I meant it in that at bat, and yes, I know it was tied. I was on the floor of my living room trying not to scream. Would A Rod have gotten that hit if he was the first one up, Lidge had had a chance to calm down, and Damon was no longer at third? Who knows. We do know that Cano and Swisher would have been sure outs with the way they batted. Who knows what would have happened. Mo can only pitch so many innings. If we had to use our bullpen that was left after him? Ouch.

My favorite Damon moment with the Sox was his walk off HR vs the Angels in the 10th inning in '02.

Hell, trade Chad Gaudin and Nick Swisher for chrissakes, to get Damon back. As nice as Nick is, man can't hit worth a damn, not like Damon!
