  • Super collection!

  • @VMCTrainsChannel Thank you!! Feel free to ask any questions!

    Thanks for watching!!

  • ive noticed on a few of these videos that people are operating several engines on one track. i was always told that you cant because it would cause a short or something. what im trying to say is. . . . .how do you operate multiple engines?

  • @admiralackbar999 First off, please know I can't speak for DCC-powered layouts.....but for DC, it's mainly in the powerpack. If you check out my #39 video, you will see how many locos my MRC Tech4 280 dual-pack transformer will run at once. 6 Katos, because they draw little more power than the Atlas, which has 9 in it. Both these trains are maxing out the transformer. Both would probably burn out a cheapo set transformer in no time! Less power from transformer, less engines run at one time.

  • I have the same amtrak cars and loco but how is the engine pulling those cars.. Aren't the cars heavy to pull with 1 loco because I have to use to locos to pull those cars

  • @WheelieRider4Life They aren't really heavy, just the wheels are tight due to the lighting apparatus, if I remember right. 1 Life-Like F40 can pull it on level ground, but I need 2 to get a whole lap in.

There was a fix to the problem of tight wheels on the Atlas N scale forum website. I'll try to find it for you if you'd like.

  • @MOVRMAN ya that will be fine

  • How long have u been collecting Trains

  • I bought my first N scale car 36 years ago, in 1973. It's in a few videos....very beat up green longitudinal hopper.

I also have my first loco, that also runs....a Minitrix ATSF F-unit.

  • @MOVRMAN Love all those N Scale Locomotives you have in your collection!

  • @MikesNLocomotives The whole group is a representation of what has been available through the years since the '70s. I have almost every locomotive I've ever bought....the only one I know that's missing is an old Atlas E8/9 that I had in my earliest N scale years, damaged beyond all functionality. I miss that one, because it was a really good loco for it's time.

  • For ballasting your track, I have some ideas. I use the same technique in which I ballast over Bahmann E-Z track. I use fine grained ballast poured out of a spray paint can lid with a small hole poked in it. It helps control the flow and restricts wasted ballast from escaping.

  • Is it safe for the engines if you run multiple ones on DC? for example I run my sd70ace with a NS GP50 is that safe?

  • I have never had a specific problem with running any brand of locos together. I run Katos with Atlas and Athearn, as well as Bachmann with a few.

Most of mine have been matched speed-wise, but that would be my only concern.....if I mated one too fast with a too slow one.

Using the MRC Tech4 280s, I also rarely worry about overloading them, but a cheaper quality power pack might not be able to handle it.

  • And I know many folks who suggest putting the faster locos in the lead. On short trains that may be so, but on my long trains it doesn't seem to matter, because the weight of the train slows the faster ones down.

  • whered u get that flat car at 1:25

  • That's a Con-Cor 86-foot trailer flatcar, that I got around the mid-'80s. It came with 2 matching CSX trailers.

Very heavy.....one big slug of metal.

  • ok cool thanks

  • I got some walthers 5 unit maxi stack well cars and do they need containers with weights or can they run empty?

    Thanks and nice job!

  • My opinion?...Walthers' would be the best at running empty. The metal as a weight is very good.

Only a couple of my containers have a weight in them, not really needed, they're just there.

Do you have the 5-unit articulated set?

  • Well not yet I bought the set online and I'm waiting for it to come. yes it's the walthers 5 unit articulated set.

    #72855

    #72403

    Thanks for helping!

  • I have the #72855. Runs very nice.

I would also say....consider the Kato 3-units. Price seems steep, but figure in that you also get 6 containers that are nicely detailed.

  • i got the walther double stacks today but I don't know how to switch the rapido couplers out to the micro trains hook couplers. I couldn't see any where to acess.

  • Do you want them body-mounted?

I just used a pair of MT1030s or 1035s, I can't remember which, but those 2 are all I've used on my freight cars.

And don't worry if that pin the articulated wheels sits on looks short....it will keep together, even when train is rather long!

  • I'll PM you.

  • Is that a bachmann gp50?

  • Yes....along with a Bachmann U36B and a Life-Like F40.

  • great job. I like how the CSX and NS are using new power and then the MOVR pulls by with vetrans!

  • Thanks! That's the look I'm going for!

  • Ha I like the New power but once in a while you got to throw in some vets!

  • nice video! I love all of the moving trains.

  • Wow that really good quality for youtube with out HD or HQ, very focus!

    Loves the trains!

  • I'm waiting to see what it looks like if they change it to HQ.

  • Most videos with HQ have that quality, if the camera was pointed down a little more you would see the open space and ply wood, and would look really real, i also just realized that you use EZ-track with more rocks on the side

  • It's Kato Unitrack, not Bachmann's E-Z track.

  • Or in other words, MOVRMAN said " I use good track, Not crappy track" LOL

  • great train action! i like the Dutch Masters Boxcar! 5 Stars

  • Thank you!! And thanks for the high rating!

Any questions, feel free to ask.
