  • The Red Light Cameras cost more to operate and use than the City makes in revenue from them. In Abq at Red Light ticket is a 100$ fine. The company gets about 80% of that leaving the remaining to the city to pay for any expenses it takes for the Person to recieve the ticket. ( Our cameras record Speed, Red Light Runners and Tailgaters )

  • All I have to say is "Who is watching the watchers?"

  • These guys are my hero's!!!!

  • awesome guys ;D

  • Traffic cameras cause changes in traffic speed, rapid slowdowns/speedups before/after the camera - which simply cannot be safe. Some flash bright camera flashes at drivers after dark... how the hell is that safe?

To anyone who thinks "if you're doing nothing wrong, why would you mind surveillance?", I say, poop. Pooping isn't wrong, would you mind people watching you poop? Or make love? Making love isn't wrong, so surely you wouldn't mind people watching right? Right?

  • Great job.... it's just a money maker for local government

  • Alot of Balls

Good Job Guys, Do it Again

  • so did the santa's get busted, was the stuff taken down? what happened after this?

  • HAHA great stunt. WSJ stated the private operators make $5k / cam. Last I heard tho, it was 50%, with each cam bringing $50k-$100k / yr. All cams do is divert traffic around the site. And the city has no incentive to improve, but just bleed more from residents.

  • Stick it to the man, Santa. I believe!

  • They put up these cameras in parts of Algonquin IL in shopping areas. They said that it was to improve safety, but it's really about the revenue. I stupidly ran one on Christmas and it flashed, but I never received a ticket, don't know why, but the very first thing that I did was stop shopping in Algonquin. I use to spend a $100 a week grocery shopping there, but no more. The city can have their cameras, let the store suffer loss of revenue. $5200/yr gone from just me.

  • niggers

  • I read a story about a guy who got one of these tickets (they send a pic of you going through the light) so he sent a pic. of the money for the fine. and they sent a pic of hand cuffs

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!! I am SICK AND FUCKING TIRED OF COPS PULLING PEOPLE OVER TO GAIN FUCKNG REVENUE FOR THE CITY AND STATE!!!, they should replace the to "serve and protect" to "enslave and tax". I have a warrant out for my arrest right now because a prick cop wrote me a ticket for going 76 while I was trying to get to work, because I was late, and I didn't want to loose my job. WELL COME AND GET ME MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I guess if you got in a car accident, loosing your job would be least of your problems.

  • an rpg or rocket launcher wud be appropriate...

  • And yes Big Brother is watching, And now with this digital switchover they will be able to look into your home as well. Analog signals = One way communication - Digital Signals = 2 way communication. So you tell me, Why did the government require the switch?

  • Cable operators wanted the switch to get you to get on with them!

  • IN Myrtle Beach, SC the only purpose for the Highway patrol is to hand out tickets on city backroads. They make their budget shortfalls on our misery. Yes it is another form of taxation. That's why I NEVER speed anymore. I'm NEVER giving them a dime of my money ever again. So take heed if you come to Myrtle Beach watch your speed the whole city is a speed trap.

  • Cities and states only created speed limit(s) because of the increase populous driving, and dumb asses before us that decided to go over "common sense speed" during weather, heavy traffic and/ or areas of high pedestrian traffic. Eight seconds of "yellow" light is ample time for you to stop and if you shall choose to go threw it-- you deserved the ticket. Did you know traffic stops is a great way to arrest wanted felons or terrorist...

  • I mostly agree. You play, you pay. The problem I have is that many times you don't get the 8 or even 6 seconds some jurisdictions allow. I have seen yellow lights that last 2 seconds in 45 mph zones. That makes them money and causes accidents.

  • Well they have to follow state law-- and if you can prove that it is less than what state law requires the city could be liable in an accident.

  • totally agree -because it's true

  • haha this is awesome!!!! hahahaaaaa

  • until we uprise the government will continue to bully us

  • Better yet, use a hammer!

  • I think the paintballing idea is a good one. It's about as fair as the cameras themselves. Hey, if the city's making so much friggin' money while sitting on their ass, let em pay for fixing the friggin' cameras.

  • A person should hand you a ticket- not a camera. Cameras are mechanical devices, and devices fail. Whether in theory or in practice, no mechanical device should ever judge a human, and these cameras are judge and jury combined into one package.

  • In OC traffic officers review the pictures before sending the ticket to you.

  • i got a red light ticket and i didn't even run the light, I went slighty over the line. I get a ticket and i didnt do anything wrong. I have also seen those cameras flash on people performing LEGAL left hand turns... the system is definately flawed here.

In my city, you can't go to court for it...there is no warrant issued if you don't pay. The "ticket" goes to a colection agency and screws up your credit! How rediculous!!!!!

  • what are YOU SUPPOSE TO DO IF YOU LEND Your car to a friend or family, how does the camera write the ticket, to the actual driver and not to the registered owner......

there should be a no license plate day in protest,,they can't ticket everyone.. although they would they wil try

  • I invite the Santas down to Texas to gift wrap our traffic light cams lol. Death to all traffic cams!!!

  • It is seems like we have a concession over this topic. Then we should fight against this Tactics. We should create a PROPOSITION that would make camera illegal on cross street. All we need is to gather signitures, and make it public.!!!

  • paint balling the glass would be fun.

  • bnd your right, they do cause more rear end accidents (from people jamming on the breaks). Did you know the privately owned company's are making around $5,000 a month per camera, before you say im BSing, READ IT IN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL article today

  • ... Or ... how's this? Stop speeding and running red lights!!! The best way to get those cameras down indefinitely is to stop having them make money. There are bigger fish to fry. People need to start taking responsibility for their actions. They are, after all, breaking the law.

  • What about privacy buddy? Let them do this, and soon, cameras will be in and around your house.

  • These cameras are placed in open and public space. People have no expectation of privacy driving down these major roads. Cameras have been used for years in public places, stores, elevators, parking lots. The problem here, at its core, is that people are driving like maniacs. I've seen people driving down some of these city streets going at least 80 mph. Making the leap from these traffic cameras to having the government place them inside homes is overly dramatic and ridiculous.

  • so ... in a public place, the public say no say?

  • Did you know that those cameras while they do provide revenue for the places that have them and they do get people in trouble for breaking the law, those cameras have actually caused more accidents? People are terrified to even do one thing wrong so they slam on their brakes and cause accidents. Sadly these cameras aren't really helping.

  • It would be better to just shoot the damn thing

  • well done santa

  • Money sucking government... You gotta play the game fair. Whats next??

We should all remove our licence plates in protest.

  • You need to come to IL to do this!

  • I wished I kick their butt and have them arrested.

  • Why? Oh that's right you hate everything America stands for. I keep forgetting.

  • First.... don't guess and second I don't hate everything.

Just trying to help you get smarter

  • So you're NOT talking about kicking the protesters butts?

  • No. I am still going to kick their butt. :P

I don't want to get run over by speeding cars.

  • Looks like I wasn't guessing then.

  • my hero

  • I love you santa! This is the best present ever!

  • The city uses "safety" as an excuse to raise money.

  • all they want is money

right now their doing more traffic stops than last year

you see people getting pulled over every 2 minutes, no lie

hey guys, come to my town and do that

  • Next time, try baseball bats.

  • try warning people that they are speeding not give them a penalty for doing so.....greed is everywhere and unfairness..

  • The cameras cause rear-end collisions because people slam their brakes on to avoid the exorbitant tickets and don't flow with traffic. The cameras are NOT about safety - They are about making money for the city while letting cops spend more time at the doughnut shop. The camera company gets like $75.00 per ticket, so if you don't understand Americans it's best you stay the fuck over there in merry old England.

  • Tempe Az,they enjoy scamming people.

  • The whole "despotic monetary system" Thing is retarded, but these cameras are dumb.

  • Michael Jackson is coming to town.

  • Making a mockery of these cameras just makes me feel all happy.

  • everyone hates these cameras but now the police are gonna be comin to town and lookin for you

  • Funny people will stand up to something as ridiculous as speeding cameras but they won't stand up on the real problem.

I admire those people who did this but I'd urge that they and we as well would turn our attention to more serious problems with the government.

  • haha. keep up the good work

  • Heard you guys on freetalklive!

    good job!

  • More people like this needed. Great job
