What most likely happened is that she heard MCR's song and then the melody was planted in her subconscious. Then she wrote her own song, not even realizing her subconscious was giving her the melody from something she had already heard. So she thought she was thinking up something original when it was really subconsciously copied. That's why the arrangement is so different and distinctively Avril.
