  • Thanks Phil I'll keep working at it!!!

  • Good vid.

  • god.

  • I envy this guy

  • Phil Ivey is a cheater. One time he told this guy he had pocket aces and he really had a straight draw. No real class acts anymore.

  • @uguysarefried That's not cheating. Lying is part of the game, just like bluffing. There are limits to what's ethical, of course, but that's perfectly acceptable, and you have to expect to be lied to occasionally by the better players. That's why you never take advice given at the table.

  • IMO Phil Ivey will always be the greatest Poker player of all time. It's a shame we have aggro-donk droolers like "Durrrrr" luckboxing the internets and blindly splashing money around on TV.

  • @jdlhnew

one of the most awesome comments ever. i hope everyone votes this one up. i did the same thing when i first started playing.

  • @adam75south difficult to vote his comment up when i cant see it anywhere :/ what did he say? lol

  • @jdlhnew haha so true!

  • Phil you're the man.

  • Wow 100 hours amazing

  • Every time you lose a tournament

You SHOULD learn a lesson that will make you better next time

  • @toyotas2006 Not necessarily... What if you get eliminated on a cooler or a very bad beat? You move on. Say "I played great, just got unlucky. Next time, if I play this well and don't get unlucky I just might win a nice amount of money"

  • @jdlhnew

Dude recognise that all those avatars are DIFFERENT people. You have to realise this and adjust differently to each one. But yeah, waiting for aces works too

  • black people always sound cool

  • Thats his job to be the best :)

  • man it happens that i took down a 90 man sng half an hour ago ( which happens so rarely for me) and when you win it si so great that makes you forget all the beats you had before all month long :)

seeing what THE IVEY says gives me more confidence because he is the greatest and nonetheless says things like that. (making mistakes everyday).

  • putting tournament play aside ,what i want to know is that i play games around the 25cent to $1 blind size, i am wondering as due to there being so many donkeys at these levels, is style of play at this level totally unrepresentable compared to say $100 or $1000 blind games? i doubt if there is anyone at that more costly level of play reading this but maybe you've heard a top player talking about such things

  • 0:51 lol? whats that? xD THE GIRL WAS TRYING TO LOOK IVEY'S HAND

  • Phil Ivey is the next Stu Ungar.

  • @bendustries

    phil uses coke aswell ?

  • @bendustries you're funny

  • nah durrrr is :D

  • ivey used to be horrible at poker, but he kept going

this guy wasnt born into wealth. he kept going regardless of the losses

  • yey ya giving me hope yey

  • fake. ivey tries to stay humble but he's god and made maybe 2 or 3 mistakes in his entire life

remember the guy folding kings set, ivey had nothing, 4 players. try it, just one time, you'll lose

  • ivey had kings an aces to back him up if shit went wrong

  • It is true, and it is simple logics as well. You don't have to be a genius to be good at poker. You need to know poker, to be good at poker, and the more you play poker the better you will without a doubt become, all these pro's had at least one amateur year or several with tons of crazy mistakes and bloopers before they could even start to think about winning tournaments. But really, anyone with enough practice can achieve at poker, take my word for it! Just be patient.

  • I really like this video thats why i put it up because it woke something up inside of me... when i use to go on huge losing streak i was like man i wanna quit forever then i hear ppl like ivey lose too and that gave me some confidence back, and like in the past two days i busted out on a tourny missing the money and ive learnt two news things from it that i wont now forget and i think im getting better each day because of it and my hatred of losing LOL

  • Yeah I hear you dude, the losing streaks happens to everyone, they happen for a reason as well: That you gotta LEARN from 'em, knowledge is power in poker, that's for sure.

  • @Kailyeh you have to be a bit of a genius to play at their level and win though.

  • @xentech non sense

  • @ramsantosjr fact: you have to be very clever.

  • talks sense

  • negreanu recently wrote an article on the same topic. He said several years ago he an ivey were near the same level, and ivey simply started playing cash and online games ALL the time. Hours alone won't do it, but like he said, he's always thinking about how to improve. That plus the hours won't hurt.

  • best advice ever. "I'm not a prodigy, I just work at what I do."

  • @tmotleygoldstein right only prodigy is mobb deep`s

  • i hope you win the main event this year, u need it
