Yeah, this "owned by" language is pretty stupid and immature. Besides di Meola is primarily a jazz guitarist who ventures into different things as he does here. But there are some people who don't understand what the word respect means. And what is a "super picker"? Nothing when it's said by a "super picky" ! LOL

I've been taught you shouldn't let your left hand fingers go too far away from the neck for stability, speed, yadiyada... But somehow a lot of top players I've seen have weird forms but they don't really affect their playing...at all!! Morse, Metheny, Friedman, Van Halen....I suppose when your letting the music do the talking, the rest doesn't really matter much. I always forget that. And that's why I suck. ^^

I saw Al play as part of the shortlived RTF reunion and as part of the Guitar Trio at the Ritz Theater in Elizabeth NJ I'd been a fan since the 70's and to see him live just blew me way!

Thanks for posting this too! I'd posted a comment on a Rod & Gab vid a long time ago about them expanding on what Al pioneered & was told they were completely different & I had no idea what I was talking about nor knew about music. I think redemption is mine! LMAO

I saw Al at the Hollywood of Blues with the World Sinfonia! It was a phenomenal show! I even met him after that. Being a musician/guitar player myself,that one short meeting was extremely inspiring. During that time I was attending music college there :) Thank you for all the inspiration Al!
