  • OMG, this is my favorite song from "Queen" but ive never heard it live, Thankyou sooooooo much :)

  • My biggest regret in life is being too young to having seen them live...

  • The best band, ever.

  • Freddie at his finest element...classic! <3

  • Every time I challenge something I have been encouraged by this song.

Eternal lightness of hope and power........from Ryuji in Tokyo-Japan

  • God almighty, some of their songs seem just hard as all hell to pull off live. So many changes and subtlies. Really ambitious. I love it.

  • WHERE IS THE BUTTON FRANTICALLY IN LOVE ????

  • great live version !!!

  • That ending guitar solo.... Wow! And such a change from most Queen literature. Yeah, it is truly literature

  • Farrokh Bulsara....the world is a darker place without you....so glad I grew up in the 70's and had a chance to see Queen live..... ! left my first concert a little in love....Freddie Mercury a voice that was a close to perfect as you get a sexy, beautiful soul ,Brian May guitar master, Roger Taylor amazing drums and that falsetto! John Deacon great on the base and wrote some of Queens most memorible songs...So glad I can now share your music with my own kids...The Show Must Go On....

  • Yesterday, my life was ruined...

    Because I didn't know this song :D

  • @bartciao and now, you're doing alright?

  • @founderjay I'm doing alright now :)

  • The most extraordinary voice ever,Queen was dripping with brilliance.

  • Pour mon enterrement

  • Go Roger!!

  • @HippieChick1776 Same here. Him and Gene Kelly always put a smile on my face when I'm down.

  • Thanks for cheering me up Freddie! :)

  • @bartciao freddie always cheers me up when im bummed out. :) His happiness is contagious. <3

  • His smile at 2:22.... Awesome :D

  • 5 people aren't doin' alright!!!

  • Oh How I miss you Freddie!! ILY friend!! I do hope you are doin' alright now. R.I.P. love!! Forever loved and forever missed!! ♥♥

  • Freddie messes up the lyrics a little (as he often did) but scrapes through ;-( The high harmonies are a bit painful near 4 mins. But I'm a Queen fan and it's effing brill :-)))

  • terrific performance, I love this band

  • marvelous!!! the best queen years....

  • FREDDIE MERCURY......HEAVENS LEAD SINGER.

  • Oh God, never heard this live. I'm in tears. BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • I never knew they did this song live!!!!!!!!!!! I think this was before Deaky was in the band!! Queen FOR LIFE!!

  • @sara1893 deacon is right there.

damn, I'd love to see them playing the whole Queen I live. Son and Daughter, The Night Comes Down, My Fairy King, Great King Rat, so many great songs in the album that I never saw being played live.

The only one I think they were really proud of is Liar, which is the best in the album as well.

  • Really love this song, Queen was simply the best!

  • I was at this tour (in Stafford) two things I remeber - 1 - being utterly awestruck (i was 12) and - 2 - going to school - deaf for the next week!!

  • =) I love this song.

  • Thank you very much, you've been a tremendous, you've been a really special band, sweet dreams, we love you.

  • have you a live video for My Fairy King ?

  • thank you.. i was at this gig xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Love this song! No one could compare to Queen. They could kick butt or do something really beautiful.

  • Thanks arcadata! Great audio quality & good video quality. Love it!!! I can't imagine my life without QUEEN either, but then again I'm only eleven. I've been hooked on QUEEN for 4 years now. It's in my blood, it's in my bones & it's in my heart! I love this version of this song.

    Cheers, Mini May

  • @MiniMay99 - you have good taste girl! My friends and I found Queen when we were around 9 yrs old - ....in 1973!!!!! - Queen fans are ageless and United forever.

  • @vixenmusique Thanks for the comment, but I'm a boy. No offense taken. Just wanted to let you know. I'm Mini May like in a miniature Brian May. You can check out my video by doing a search for "Tie Your Mother Down" by a ten year old It should come up. I have to add more soon.

    Cheers!

    Mini May

  • I'm in love with this video...the way Freddie sings this...*sigh*

  • wot is brian wearing omg

  • Idk, But he is looking Hot!!!

  • Don't you just love it?

  • Fantastic! I love this song, and they pulled it off WELL onstage, apparently. :-)

  • Great song. Freddie is the King!!....

  • Freddie is the Queen.

  • wow such a great song. it reminds me of a rolling stone song for some reason. love queen for ever

  • GREAT

    WONDERFUL

    it's Queen...

  • this always lifts your spirits :)

  • Great song Brian!

  • fantastico sound

    freddie come sempre...MAGNIFICO

  • This has always been one of my favorite Queen songs, but honestly I love the Smile version so much too! I know it's really Smile's song ;) There's a version with Freddie from the BBC I think that is great too. Thanks for posting!!

  • Their first two albums was most complex and difficult to play. Outstanding songs.. all of them.. There are some religion themes in the most of songs. Their texts are not just a mere verbiage.. It's a message, great idea, which so-called - "Queen's magic". But, unfortunatly, most of us don't understand it,, p.s. sorry for my english))

  • SO Fabulous...God, is Queen amazing or what????

    Long Live ~QUEEN~

  • this song was written when Freddie & John still weren't in the band....and the band still was called "Smile"

  • greatest rock band of all time!

  • I didn't know Brian May was a talented song writer and wrote some songs for Freddie Mercury. Not only is he an all round clever clogs and brilliant guitar player he's also a song writer.

  • Brian May wrote a WHOLE LOT of Queen's best songs. Now I'm Here, We Will Rock You, Keep Yourself Alive, The Show Must Go On, just to name a few. Brian's a complete artist.

  • and adding to that, Brian has a Phd in astronomy...

  • Freddie is God

  • Cheers Freddie!

    I won't be a rock star. I will be a legend.

What will I be doing in twenty years' time? I'll be dead, darling! Are you crazy?

    Love you Freddy! Forever!

  • queen at the top of there game sheer heart attack tour nd night at the opera tour were the best

  • tranport my body

  • Their early albums, those before Night at the Opera, are so incredibly good.

  • i personally think that all of their first 8 albums are amazing

  • Непризнанно одна из лучших песен.

  • Amazing, so beautiful.

    Most underrated Queensong.

  • awesome!!!!

  • Beautiful!!

    Freddie... the best!

    Queen rules! =)

  • Yesterday my life was in ruins. ;-)

  • freddie the best. their first album is great.

freddie, nobody could ever replace you, the best singer ever.

  • great song

  • The first album is SO Kick Ass!

  • i know u cant be perfect all the time when u sing live..

but freddie knew just how to do that..

    the best..just the very best

  • Brians guitar just sings like Freddie.

  • Brilliantly said, Ricky91993. He and the Old Girl are astounding...and so f***ing overlooked. Really, it's starting to tick me off. For God's sake, it's like 90% of the population hasn't heard of him, and another 9% that HAS hates him. Grrr.

  • Now this is LIVE!!!!, Queen knew how to do LIVE concerts. At 4:32 when Brian Jams the red special then roger follow up, I imagine that wold be great if John follow up too with his bass and at the end Freddie with his fantastic voice "Ta-ra-ra-ra-tattattattat"

  • fantastico

  • i also would kill to be able to upload alot of these older queen music videos on my ipod i think there is a way to do it but don't know how also got a neww computer so it makes it harder right now keep rocking queen fans keep them alive ... luv and peace to. yall

  • queen oh yeah last week got my first tattoo queen right on my back saw them 5 times want them to die with me now they will getting logo underneath it don't hurt

  • A voice as smooth as butter, or whipped cream. So sweet and luxurious. I could listen all day!

  • The sweet sound of good music.

  • Acts nowadays don't possess the same quality and musicianship as they did! They sound pretty much exactly the same! Newer acts... you'd never know they were who they said they were! The songs sound THAT different live. I miss Freddie! I wish every performer was dedicated to quality like he was!!

  • i have come across a superb copy of this

if interested send me a message

  • I have a CD of this performance - quality kinda stinks though. I love this song and it's nice to finally see the video!

  • I would kill to have this on cd

  • Me too!!!!!!

  • FRED(L)

  • Loveee!!!

  • Not in my top 10 queen songs, but close.

I think the entire Queen 2 and sheer heart attack take up those spots.

I'm a massive Queen fan, always will be, even with Rodgers beltin it out(saw him 08 08 08 with Bad Co in Florida...bloody marvellous!

  • 1:41 to 3:08 is one catchy ass guitar beat bravo brian

  • Cheers Freddie

  • Is this the regular intro to this song? First time I heard it and it sounds so much like Floyd's intro sound to STAY.

  • yea this is the regular intro

  • Freddie at his BEST - Awesome!

  • il primo album è divino... kome tutti gli altri...freddie ci manki tantissimo..anke noi ti amiamo ancora cucciolo...

  • FM...what would you be doing?

  • Freddie was TOTAL class.. AXL? Come on. RU alive?

  • que buen tema!

  • a sensational show..... great.... Freddie we miss you!

  • On 2:39 he sort of pulled an Axl Rose, didn't he?

  • actually he couldn't have done an Axl Rose because first of all, Axl sucks and Freddie doesn't and second of all no one even knew Axl's name nor had Guns and Roses even formed yet.

  • 'Twas a metaphor...

  • Shut up! Axl is a great frontman. Queen were my fav band until I seen GnR!! One of Axl's fave albums was Night At The Opera. You say Axl sucks and Freddie doesn't... Wake up!

  • Well I'm just saying, Look at the retarded things that Axl has done on stage.

  • Rock on Freddy!

  • freddie, not freddy

  • I know sorry.

  • nice song

  • In my opinion this live version is much better than a studio take which appeared on "Queen". This is a special mix of gentle ballad and real hard-rocking improvisation!

  • best musicians ever!

  • Queen are ROCK GODS!!!

  • gorgeous magic...

  • absolutely amazing

  • great find. I never thought they would play this song from the 1rst album as late as '77. This song has a lot going on: gentle piano ballad, swinging middle section and thunderous metal riffs... Queen are real tight... what a treat!

  • i love him <3

  • Super!!!

  • wow that was such a great preformence

    best band ever?

    i think so mhmmm

    :D

    <33

  • So nice to see the boys again playing properly as a cohesive group - something lost in the later years. Watching this has cheered me up and Ive even though about it at work............3 day working weeks !!!!? Yes please.....

  • Are you kidding? I was at this gig in Earls Court on Jubilee Day. Queen always played tight and by 1986 they were the best Rhythm section the world had ever seen or has ever seen since. I have played bass for 32 years and this lot wrote the book on playing tight. To say they lost their cohesion later on is quite frankly utter crap

  • I agree, he must be on drugs or doesn't know what he is talking about

  • well said twatbox

  • listen mate compare the Wembley 86 version of Tie... to the Earls court one. Brians guitar at Wembley sounds like a skeleton wanking inside a biscuit tin. thank god they left out White Queen during the latter years!

  • Brian's guitar sound at Wembley was something I'd noticed as well. Do you know why it sounded like that?

  • Brians' guitar in the last two tours (Works Tour and the Magic one) he started toying with mixing a chorus effect to his trademark distortion on the rythim guitar sections, hence the rather 'tinny' sound.

  • thanks. I hated it, personally.

  • i didnt hate it but it definitely dissapointed me.

  • This is such a good song.

  • Indeed

  • freddies comments at the end of this song was the main catalyst for the fall-out between the British press and Queen. For Freddie to sing that he's doin alright and then sip champaign at the end of the song in front of an audience who were still suffering the after effects of a three day working week and was just asking for trouble. Great song though.

  • No doubt...best bend ever

  • awesome!!

  • One of the best song od Queen...just love it...love Queen*

  • :-) YAY! :-)

  • The best band ever....

  • this song is more catchy than hotel california

  • Beautiful... Love Queen so much!!

  • This is a truly incredible performance. Freddie's voice is wonderful. This is even stronger than the original recording; fantastic, underrated song

  • ÓÓÓÓTIMOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • I love this song like I love wendy's chicken nuggets. So beautiful and overlooked. When I listen to the early albums, songs like this send a clear message of the awesome potential they have as artists that was expressed in their future career.

  • To put other ppl's minds at rest, not any1 on this page of comments, but others. This is not a Queen song, it's a smile song....but hell Queen r better at it, dnt think Smile ever played this live, not tht im aware of anyway.

  • I think maybe a few times cuz in a documentary there was a small recording. Freddie sings it better than Tim anyway xD

  • the best band ever existed...the best singer, freddie...

  • EVERYONE should own a copy of Queen I, plus Queen II and Shear Heart Attack for that matter. Their first three albums are unbelievable.

  • Queen is the best band in the world!!!!!!!! thank you Freddie....you changed my life....:)

  • La mejor banda que ha existido!

  • wow, i was there. best gig id ever been to. thanks.

  • This remains my fave Queen song all these years later. And it still sounds best in the middle of the night I think. Thanks for posting.

  • wonderful! wonderful! wonderful!the greitest band in the history the greitest singer in history the greitest voice in history...i'll be lovin' QUEEN i'll be lovin FREDDIE forever

  • This is arguably their greatest live moment ever. Pure, perfect version of their oldest song.

  • havent heard this in a few years, going to play queen at the beeb and feel all fuzzy

  • because you ARE MA BABY, FREDDIE. i sure am doing ALL RIGHT.

  • I love this song. Queen music is smooth even though the bombast is always there. They always have a place in my heart. Freddie was such a unique musician and a songwriter par excellent---up there with the best rock has to offer. His outfits were unforgettable. Never weird, just bohemian, macho, and sexy. They will rock you, hehe.

  • Freddie is ultimate "show-man". Awesome voice. I actually LOVE the crazy outfits (even though they are weird). Adds to the entertainment factor.

  • Congratulations to the co-writer, Tim Staffel, bass and voice in Smile, thanks for go away xDD

  • my fav queen show ever why dont they release this show on dvd although ive got the full show on a bootleg video i would love a nice clear version though i was really shocked they played this at earls court in 1977 best show ever thanx for uploading it

  • mercury have the best voice .absolutly queen ro¡¡

  • Perfect!... as usual...

  • I love freddy and all but why is he always wearing the Spandex skippy type outfits. They make him look really wierd...
