  • This was one of the shows that met their doom when Wheel of Fortune debuted in 1983. TTD came on before Wheel of Fortune in Philadelphia until 1985 when Jeopardy! (Wheel of Fortune's) companion show moved into that time slot on WPVI (ABC) Philadelphia.

  • An unusual use for this music: college radio station WVST (broadcasting from the campus of Virginia State University) uses it for their sports coverage...on promos for VSU Trojans baseball, football and basketball games aired live on the station.

  • Tic Tac Dough was brought back in 1990 with Patrick Wayne, Son of John Wayne. the 1990 Tic Tac Dough Bonus Round featured the Ferocious Dragon, Some X's and O's, and a Brave Dragon Slayer.

  • @AaronBruceLadner Dragon Bad, Dragon Slayer Good.

  • HAHAHA! Thanks, i could use the residuals!

  • Happy Birthday, Wink Martindale, And Many More :-)

  • Who cares WHO hosts the next version of tic tac dough, as long as they bring back this swingin' theme music--that's what really counts!

  • Hear, hear! :-)

  • and BTW, Wink Martindale is younger than the likes of

William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Vaughn, David McCallum, Richard Dawson and his Good Friend fellow DJ Casey Kasem.

  • 1:16 - That dragon reminded me of King Koopa (a.k.a. "Bowser") from Super Mario Bros.!

  • dont u remeber the tic tac dough tournament of champions

  • The bonus round from Tic-Tac-Dough is similar to one of the bonus games on Yoshi's Island DS, only it had Kamek the magikoopa sneaking behind one of the boxes, instead of a dragon.

  • From Hollywood, it's everybody's game of strategy, knowledge, and fun! It's Tic Tac Dough! Now here's our host, Wink Martindale!

  • I always remeber this game show from when I was growing up, and it made me love trivia. The music was good also :-)

  • Wow the tic tac dough board game! Where did you get it?

  • Oh..........I found it somewhere. LOL

  • Wow, the Tic Tac Dough board game, where did you get it?

  • Tic Tac Dough will always be my favorite game show. Boy I would love to see it revived, only with a lot more respect for the old-school style than what they did in 1990. The questions are: Is there someone out there who's a worthy successor to Wink and better than Jim Caldwell and Patrick Wayne combined; Or if not can Wink be coaxed out of retirement?

  • Maybe Chuck Woolery? Chuck's a pretty good game show host!

  • He's in his 70s. Besides, Chuck should've never left Wheel of Fortune.

  • Actually, I think Chuck's in his 60's, and I believe he's admitted that leaving Wheel of Fortune was a mistake on his part.

BTW, lets not forget that Bob Barker was 83 when he retired as host of the Price is Right.

  • Assuming this game show revives (and I hope so, too), my guess for emcee would be Todd Newton, who hosted "Whammy! The All-New Press Your Luck."

  • Just out of curiosity, wasn't Todd Newton one of those considered to host Price is Right when Bob Barker retired? I know Drew Kerry got it, which if you ask me was a mistake, but didn't Todd audition for the position?

  • @DorvellTStewart Rosie O'Donnel was going to be the host of Price is Right

  • @DorvellTStewart I had heard that Al Roker and Tom Bergeron were seriously considered for "Price Is Right", but Roker couldn't get out of his contract with "The Today Show", and Bergeron couldn't get out of doing "America's Funniest Home Videos". Drew Carey was supposedly the producers' third choice.

  • Maybe Jim can do it. After all, he had only one season where as Wink had 7. That's a distinct disadvantage.

  • I freakin' LOVE this tune!!!! TOTALLY 70's!!

  • So do I!

  • damn i miss these game shows

  • Love those synthesizers.

  • i dont know what it is but when you hear themes like this it makes you smile from ear to ear..or maybe its just me

  • The Winkster & Jim were snappy dressers thanks to Botany 500 in fact, Botany 500 has made any Game Show Host look snappy:

The Winker, Jim Caldwell, Bob Eubanks, Bob Barker, Jack Narz, Tom Kennedy, Alex Trebek, Bill Cullen, Jack Barry, Monty Hall, Jim Lange, Jim Peck, Jim Perry, Kevin O'Connell, Ron Ely, Dan Miller and famous actors like Dick York, Dick Sargeant, Telly Savales, Sherman Helmsley, Dick Van Dyke and of course Mr. Family Himself Richard Dawson and Quincy M.E. himself Jack Klugman.

  • Don't forget Peter Tomarken, Regis Philbin, Allen Ludden, Pat Sajak, Paul Newman, Drew Carey, Jeff Foxworthy, Alfonso Roberto.

  • I used to watch this all the time when I was growin up! I am so happy that GSN put it back on!!!!

  • For those of you "not in the loop", Wink is the primary backup for Fred Roggin on GSN Live. However, Alfonso Ribiero is hosting this week. But Wink's already got a couple weeks of shows under his belt anyhow, and was one of the first guests on GSN Live.

  • This music used to scare the crap out of me when I was little. Nowadays, I think it had a big influence (perhaps subconsciously) on my music taste and own compositions.

  • Hey, I use to watch Tic Tac Dough growing up, I saw the Winker's Version on Pat Robertson's CBN (now abc family), USA Network (now known as the Law & Order Network) and of course GSN (Get in the Game).

    I saw Jim's version on abc's affiliate station KATC-TV 3 Lafayette, LA.

But I never saw the CBS version, b/c I wasn't born yet, until I saw it last year here on You Tube.

I hope that GSN can find and recover thoes as well.

God Bless B&E, God Bless Hal Hidey and God Bless the Winkster.

  • What did you search to find the CBS version on youtube? Since CBS and GSN cant get there act together and find the misplaced episodes, since CBS caseically stopped wiping by the Late 60's early 70's

  • It was from the Game Show Temple, he posted it on You Tube, but then took'em down, but hopefully, they'll pop up again on You Tube.

  • I hope so! Unless CBS or GSN find the tapes first!

  • Another good theme song. Tic Tac Dough may be a serious game show but the atmosphere is laidback yet not completely relaxed; the contestants were not sitting by the way. Sometimes with a flashy set comes a catchy theme song with it too; something Hal Hidey was known for. It fir well with the rest of the show; the music for the 90's version I feel did not work. Tic Tac Dough was a great show with its simplicity, facts, and remarkable presentation. The theme song I could play all day if I could.

  • Yes I did. Very simple to use.

Secondchance1977, sorry. I accidently deleted your comment. MY BAD!!!!

Nalapof, Secondchance1977 was correct for I got beat to the punch before I could respond.

  • its ok. were all human, we all make mistakes

  • Well, i dont think a gorrila could UNDERSTAND the meaning of this video; neither a goat, a horse, a cow, a pig, a poodle,a stack of hay,a pice o meat, a piece of spinach, and if your an alien from another planet, what planet are you from? Because as far as I am conserd, HUMANS are the ones who are watching this. Like i said, if you an alien, please tell us what planet your from.

  • No wonder the Winkster was the best host of Tic Tac Dough.

  • Wink was always so friendly.

  • Man, loved this theme - so funky soundin XD !!!!

  • Where in the world did you get all this stuff? You are an absolute genius! Thank you!

  • You're welcome!

Well, I don't know if I'm a genius. I maybe far from it.

All I did was collect pictures from the internet from most of the game show websites, put it through Windows Movie Maker and then added the music to go along with the video collage. If there were pictures from a certain game show, I would add the game show theme to it. That all I did.

  • B&E are really missed. Tic Tac Dough was thier best show in my view.

  • They sure are. and IMO, the best Game Shows from B&E are Tic Tac Dough,The Joker's Wild, Bullseye and Hot Potato and plus, I like Break the Bank w/Tom Kennedy better than Jack Barry's Version and as for Play the Percentages, I like the Couples Version better than the 1 on 1 format. My favorite Bonus Games are as follows: Beat the Dragon (CBS) Beat the Dragon (syn.) Face the Devil (CBS/syn.) Jokers & Devils/Sants & Scrooges Bonus Island (BULLSEYE) Big Bonus Round (Hot Potato)
  • This was a fav of mine! I watched the CBS and Syndie versions aired in The Knoxville area! I liked the parts where they occasionally showed closeups of the podium! A reare treat indeed! Thanks for sharing Long Live TTD on GSN!

  • It seemed Caldwell had a weird obsession over the red boxes.

  • Man, nothing says great game show like nine 19 inch television sets glued together to make a tic tac dough board. Thanks to GSN for finally putting this show back on again. Every weekday at 10 am. Can't wait until the next time someone wins a Buick Skylark. Nice whitewall tires, baby.

  • Wink is the guest host all week on GSN LIVE on the Game Show Network filling in for Fred Roggin. See him noon until 3:00 PM EST on GSN!!!

  • Hal Hidey, one of the most underrated theme song composers of our time, did this and a lot of other Barry and Enright shows. The guys was a genius.

  • "Crazy Fun" was the title for The Tic Tac Dough theme composed by the late Hal Hidey.

  • Me an My brother would crank up the TV an dance like fools to this=----

  • Tic Tac Dough...Hollywood Squares without the celebrities or the bluff answers. Clap along!

  • More like Jeopardy. I love Tic Tac Dough(with Wink)

  • theme song-----make sme wann booty shake an go crazy-- My granparents would tell us to''Settle down" hahahaaaaa

  • The lady in the CBS 2 ad for Tic Tac Dough looked like Mary Steenburgen.

  • Oh yes! TTD, one of B & E's Best!

  • Yep, best theme of all the Barry & Enright shows, the Joker's Wild and Bullseye simply can't compare to TTD!!!

  • Clap lap Clap====love this wild..would Turn up the Tv as loud as it would go...

  • Long live the Apple II Dragon!

  • ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!

  • WHERE did you find this awesome music??

  • Its the opening song me an my bro would get all Giddy every nite at 6:00--man Wink an company---yep an I remember thatThom guy he was a Huge All time winner

  • Oh....I have ways of finding stuff on the internet.

  • Love it! GREAT music and images, friend! Did you see Wink on GSN Live yesterday? =) He looks well and was very funny!

  • I sure did, he still has that nice and unique personality, and plus, I saw him on the Most Ourageous Game Show Moments 1 with his close friends Peter Marshall, Jim Lange, Bob Eubanks and special guest Ben Stein and when the show was over they did The Traditional Dating Game Kiss and afterwards they were all nice enough to sign autographs.

It was a nice thing to witness that on TV and that was so nice of Wink and the guys to do so.

and I happend to have that on tape.

    God Bless Winker!

  • That is a fun theme song and great collage!!

  • Truly one of my favorites of all time. I am glad to see that GSN has finally brought back TTD on their channel.
