  • i goa old homelite i converted ages ago and its spitting a little oil.how can i burn off the oil.less oil in petrol?

  • @optimist4212

Have you checked your ring ? Also , check your carb to see if it's set too rich .

  • @chipbreakr where do you put the water pump?

  • @keefpoo

Mount it in the hull next to the engine , usualliy make a bracket out of aluminium that will mount to the stringer

  • do u think a homelite mightylite 26ss is any good for moddin?

  • @manout234

I have heard that they don't have much material around the ports for modding . They aren't like the older homelites .

  • @chipbreakr will wa-167 carb fit it though? and do you know if its a 3bolt or 4 bolt bc i wanna put a 30cc head on

  • @manout234

I haven't seen one up close , but I have heard they take the same 3 bolt cylinders . I'm sure a 167 carb will fit . If you can find one of the older homelites ,you'll have a more durable engine , as they were made beefier .

  • I have that motor too...Its stock though....that sounds great

  • Will do Jim

  • the motor sounds great! can't wait to get it back in my boat. excellent work jim

  • Hey Mike, Glad you like it , as soon as you get it in the boat let me know how it runs

  • did u change the head

  • It's the stock cylinder that I modified

  • thats sick how bout one for a stock ryobi

  • The homelite based ryobi cylinder has 4 port transfers , but when to lower the cylinder to up compression ,it freeports ,or exposes the exhaust port when it is at top dead center .The bottom of the piston skirt comes up to high . These old style homie have the one piece cranks , which are alot tougher than the newer 3 piece cranks, and they have better chrome in the cylinder walls .

  • thats cool i am only ten but i know about all thet stuff thats prettey cool i made a airboat out of a old old old shindawa its so faswt and sounds so crisp with the 11 inch prop

  • sounds so crisp

  • I did one a couple yrs. ago really didn't see any improvement for the work of changing it over .

  • Another nice homie! Have you tried the reed conversion yet?
