  • how much did it cost yo to build? :)

  • how becomes you got no RAM ?

  • @F1ferrarimassa erm..there is is 6GB of Patriot

  • @RotationFSX oh ok ,

is it good graphic like 3.8GHz if i got this parts to use power supply Powercool 850W Black 80

    8GB RAM G-Skill 8GBXL Ripjaws X

Western Digital WD1002FAEX Caviar Black 1 TB 7200 RPM

    ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 - AMD 890GX

Intel Sandybridge i7-2600K Unlocked Core i7 Quad-Core Processor

Asus nVIDIA 3D GeForce GTX 560 TI DirectCu II

    thank

  • @F1ferrarimassa Yes mate, that will run very nicely - especially with the I7-2600k.

That baby will go upto around 4.8 - 5.0ghz for extreme frame rate performance in FSX

  • why does fsx need hihg end pc but has horrible graphics

  • @777mirza777 because its CPU based and doesn't make use of the GPU in the same way that say Battlefield 3 would. Its also directx 9 only not 11, was released in 2006. But to be honest the graphics with add-ons are pretty spectacular considering this simulates a World wide area.

  • @RotationFSX Oh..ok thx!

  • @RotationFSX Could you link me to add-ons that give you graphic upgrades?

Also I am confused as I got the pack for my Country Iceland. and it say's it can not find "myprog.exe" and its not in the original install folder of FSX.

So I guess it is NOT loading the icelandic add-on but I can fly around in Iceland non the less with the default FSX version.

  • @RotationFSX And could you possibly tell me if you are able to record video while playing the game without lagg? As well as is there any way saving the flight like a Replay video in the game and then just push play and the computer does the flight automaticly and you can move cameras around to record it?

  • @RotationFSX So basically, if you have a good CPU and a decent Graphics card you can make it pretty far?

  • @777mirza777 if you use REX2, ENB-SERIES, and many other grapich addons the game will be AMAZING!! yust look here: /watch?v=j77cgtty1K4&feature=related

  • Can this set-up run FSX smoothly with CS, PMDG, REX and other add-ons?;

    Cooler Master HAF 912

GTX 560Ti @ 1 GB (SLI in the future?)

    Corsair 90 GB SSD

    Corsair 16GB CL9 1600Mhz VENGEANCE

    Asus P8Z68-V GEN3

Cooler Master Silent Pro M 850W

    Intel Core i7 2600K 3,4GHz (O/C to 4+ GHz later?)

    1 TB Samsung Spinpoint F3

Nice vid, very helpful since I'm going to build my own FSX rig very soon. Thanks!

  • @Deltapilot96 Yes mate, this will run FSX really well. Remember my video is about a year and a half old now, so your kit will be even better than mine..:)

  • @RotationFSX Thanks for the reply :)

  • @Deltapilot96 I have a very similar setup, same cpu, gpu, mobo, psu even. just 8 gigs ram but that shudnt make a difference. fsx will run, and will please you with around 25-30fps with those addons and all sliders full. but i got a 70-80 fps increase just by tweaking my cfg so i highly recommend bojotes tweak. pm me if u want more info!

  • @Deltapilot96

I have nearly the same specs as you. I've just got a better GPU and a larger HDD.

You will need to do A LOT of tweaking to get it right. Even then, it will run sluggish. Especially with quality addons such as PMDG.

You'd pull about 20FPS in the cockpit of a NGX and around 50 on the outside (default scenery).

GL/HF. If you need help tweaking just ask me :3

  • Will I be ok with this pc??

AMD Phenom II x4 3.5GHz Black edition

    8 GB DDR3 RAM

Video Card not sure which one pick

    MoBo Biostar A780L3G

    120GB SSD

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

  • @yerrazo Yeah you'll be ok and get decent performace - however the two main things to really enhance your enjoyment of FSX is to go for an I7 processor and an Nvidia 5 series card (560 or 570 for example)

  • Comment removed

  • Enjoy your no no-nonsense approach. Purely accidental after many trials and errors my build is quite similar. Albeit a water-cooled HTPC. The watercooling because of the airflow in these specialized cases. It allows me at 62 to sit in my living room easy chair learn about the fsx add-ons. Love it and great when I can't get out or there is nothing on the TV to tempt. WELL DONE !! I'm at 3.8 with the I7 750 might try to achieve 4.0 although yours was a 920. My graphics a Gigabyte GTX 470soc

  • @leather10uk Hey thanks for your comment mate. Sounds like you have a decent system for FSX. I made that video about a year and a half ago, but its still relevant today - just the parts are now a lot cheaper..

  • lol its funny how im maxing out fsx with a dual core cpu@3.0ghz maybe i tweaked my fsx

  • @xazns0ulx I didn't put this video up for bragging rights. I put it up to help point people in the right direction. You are probably 'maxing out' with default aircraft etc and scenery, but to be honest I'm not bothered either way.

  • Hi.

I have a AMD radeon HD 6800 Series graphics card

    8GB RAM

    AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T processor (6CPUs), 3.2GHz

And i'm wonder if there's anything i can upgrade for flight simulator to run any smoother?

I have some money so i just want to see if there's anything that i could replace to improve the fps and graphics.

  • @qour200 The best bang for your buck for fsx would be to replace your 1090t (which i have too, oc'd to 4.2Ghz and fsx still doesnt run very smooth) and get a Intel i7 2600K.

Also get a good 1155 socket motherboard ( a Z68 generation is best).

Your gpu is fine but if you want another boost on top of a cpu upgrade, you can get a Nvidia Gtx 570 or even a gtx 580...

And what speed ram do you have? DDR3, 1600 mhz and up is best.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions get back to me :)

  • I am on the weird part of Youtube again.

  • people who can afford this are lucky...... my PC costs Rs.20,000. Get Max 23 FPS on no settings...fuck.

  • @saheb1b This was made a year and a half ago, you can probably get this half price now

  • nice!

  • I play fsx maxed with a 4ghz phenom 2 and 8gb ddr2 1066 ram, also an amd 6870. minimum of 26 fps in new york, thats minimum. average is about 35 in same airport.

  • @rowanlewisuk erm...well done

  • It'll work, but expect quite a bit of slow down at add-on airports etc. Id imagine you'll be getting around 10-15fps average and then higher when cruising

  • How FSX will be work on this:

Intel Core 2 duo 2.6 GHZ

    4 GB Ram DDR 2

    Nvidia GeForce 8600 1GB

    Windows XP SP3 32bit

  • CPU will eat FSX up, go with a hybrid cooler from Corsair or Antec. Although ATI cards are fantastic for other games, they are not so hot for FSX. Go with Nvidia 5 series 560,570,580 as these are apparently better at shading (fsx has 2006 technology).

Instead of 1GB hardrive, buy two 500gb drives and put FSX and its add-ons on its own drive

  • IIIIIPROCESOR: CPU Desktop Intel Core i7 2600K - 3 4GHz quad coreIIIICPU cooler : Intel 1155 CERTIFIED CPU FAN HEATSINKIII motherboard: Intel® P67 ChipsetIII memory: 2x4GB 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - PC6400IIII graphic : ATI Radeon HD 6950 - 1GB GDDR5 - DX11IIII HARD DISK: 1000GB 7200 12 3 5IIIII please comment :))

  • I am stuck on what to get for my new pc, I could choose an i7 2600k with a P8Z68-v pro motherboard, or an i7 960 with P6X58D-E, it will go with 8-12gb of any DDR3 RAM GPU: 2x GTX560 ti CPU Cooler: Coolermaster V8 Disc Drive: LG 24x dvd reader and rewriter HDD: 1tb sata-3 hard drive PSU: 850w corsair all in an NZXT Phantom case. So which processor and motherboard shall I get? And how fast will it run?
  • @ArchonEmpire Go with the 17 2600k setup. If you are building specifically for FSX you wont need SLI GPU as it dont work. Maybe FLIGHT will later though

It will run like greased shit..

  • @RotationFSX i have a 2600k at 4.7 ghz with SLI 570's and if you run addon scenery with big monitors it helps a little but not alot, but the 2600k is killer for FSX.

  • Hey man. I would like to know if my FSX could run really well on my PC. Here are my Specs.

    Proccessor - Quad Core Intel i7 2600K 3.8GHz

    Ram - 16GB DDR3 1333 MHZ PC-10600

Graphics - 2GB (1/2 of the graphics are onboard and the other half are on a video card.

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

Coooling Fan - Not sure what kind but spent $175 on it

    Power Supply - 650W

  • @IGCTutorialzzZ yes, it will play it nicely. Is the GPU Nvidia though?

  • Comment removed

  • @RotationFSX No it's an ATI.

  • @RotationFSX my older quad core was OC'ed to 3.3, but my gpu was an ati. so it will run on either nvidia or ati

  • do u think my laptop with the specs below will run fsx smoothly?Pls reply

    2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2670QM Processor ( 2.2GHz 1333MHz 6MB )

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M 1GB

    4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz

  • @TheMrTechboys Seems like an OK laptop, but really Laptops aren't great for FSX,

You'll be able to play it of course, but just not at the kind of slick rates that you can see on here

  • Guys, this video NEEDS updating, good system but much more is available now. You want an i7-2600K (or i5-2500K), an ASUS P8Z68 mobo, the 8GB RIPJAWS 1600MHx RAM, and any graphics card above a GTX 460, you could prob get away with less. For an insight, my GTX 560Ti runs at no more that 50% with FSX on full settings...you can see why a good CPU is needed! A 650W PSU will do, and a case, and your sorted (obviously HDD and other bits is up to you). You can OC the i7 to 5GHz (VERY fast)!

  • @j4cko56 You are absolutley correct. I made this video July 2010 so yes the specs will have changed. To be honest though the next time I build a new machine (maybe ivy bridge) will be titled building a PC for FLIGHT or X-PLANE 10.

Thanks for your comments though, the spec you suggest would be a great FSX rig

  • @RotationFSX The spec there is what i have, it runs it great, i cant wait for FLIGHT as well, i may even give X-Plane a go, but it doesn't have the eye candy FSX does, which i mainly focus on. Guys also LAPTOPS ARE A NO NO! I have had baaaaad times with laptops, they are way to expensive and don't run it well, built a computer for half the cost and it will be better lol. Shame Ivy bridge came out, i only made this one a month ago, but the cost of the Ivy bridge right now..no thanks!

  • I have 8g ram, a awsome graphics card and motherboard but i have core i5 does it matter?

  • @Eddo1998 It doesnt matter if you overclock it to 4ghz - Also the awsome Grpahics card may not be so awsome if its ATI (causes slowdown and some glitches in FSX - other games they are great)

  • @RotationFSX the graphics card is a ASUS ENGTX560 and the processor is 3.1 ghz but fsx works fine

  • Ahh a badass simming rig being built to a song from The Prodigy. This vid made my day thanks :D

  • Hmm strange, got almost the same rig and i cant get even near those frame rates you get in FSX :p

  • How the fuck did my FSX run well with Intel Core 2 duo

    2.0n (instead of saying something)

  • Another good setup would be... Core i5 2500k @ 4.5 Ghz, ASRock P67 Extreme4 Gen3, Corsair Hydro Series H60, Patriot Gamer G2 Series 8 GB, MSI GTX 460 Hawk OC'd, Corsair HX650W, Samsung 470 Series 64 GB SSD (Boot Drive), Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB, Corsair Graphite 600T, Asus DVD-RW.

About $1200 USD off of Newegg

It Runs Like A Charm =)

  • Comment removed

  • Where did you get the parts from?

  • Too expensive -_- can you give the cheaper spec for FS9?

  • I dunno.. If you want to run FSX + REX 2.0, this is the setup for you.. but im running FSX on Ultra (minus anti alis, and medium traffic) on a basic Compaq Presario Laptop... With only a Duel Core Athon P340 @ 2.2GHz per core, alongside a ATi 4250 HD Radeon mobility with 256Ded, 1.4GB shared hyper mem @ 533herts (shared off the 4Gb ddr3 Ram). Price of the laptop is $400CAD (700 after taxes and warrenty - 3yrs). My current frame rate is about 25-27.. for me, its good enough. im happy with it

  • If I buy all of those components, how I'm going to put them together? help

  • @thepsp619 goto a local PC shop, give them the components and theyll build it. Should take 2 hrs if they are worth their salt

  • hi

Will this sim work the same with windows XP?

  • @paull123 Yes, although windows 7 is recommended nowadays

  • @RotationFSX tell me what you think, will fsx run well ?

    -core i7 2600 3.4 ghz

    -gtx 550ti ddr5

    -8 gb ram 1333 mhz

  • @weckwerth123456 Yes, but i would recommend RIPJAWS 8GB RAM @1600MHz, very cheap on amazon, very very good! The 2600K will also overclock its self to 3.8GHz, and you can get it to 5GHz with a good cooler!

  • Nice video, just what i was looking for. But seeing how rapidly things evolve in the computer hardware industry i would like to see an updated video if you could make one. Thanks!

  • @aerozg Yes, good point. That video was made a year ago.

You should be looking at the Sandy bridge I7s and maybe an Nvidia 570 now

  • @RotationFSX

Cool, thanks for the instant response! Yes, i am browsing the components for my new Gaming rig as we speak. Seems i should be looking to get a 1155 socket processor and a 570 or maybe even a 580GTX. What would you recommend to run the FSX on max settings? Being a long time ATi guy (and not a fan actually) i would definitelly switch from ATi to nVidia. Also i would get an SSD or maybe a pair and put them in RAID, and use standard HDDs for storage.

  • 2 SSD's are probably a bit overkill to be honest. Id save your money and pump it into the 580.

Dont be under any illusions of running everything on max and having it 100% smooth. Will not happen.

Knock the sliders back a little on the autogen and you will be slick as anything and you wont even notice its not max. Everything else can be max apart from traffic&bloom

  • @RotationFSX You are probably right. I am not in rush, but this will actually be a huge upgrade for me, as i'm still running a 6 year old WinXP Pro PC with a Pentium D, 2 gigs of RAM and a 512Mb 3850HD. Not a lot you can see in FSX running this old pile of junk. Serves me well for the web design/development stuff tho. And what about this Ivy Bridge buzz, i'm thinking maybe i should hold it a bit for the the new Tri-gate processors to come out next year..new socket, new motherboards, new stuff..

  • Great video mate, really much needed for folks out there to get the most out of FSX :) Oh, and a genuine compliment to your cable management also...its amazing how few people spend just a bit of time to clean up the case. Nice work, 5 stars.

  • @jlebesis Thanks Jlebesis. I hope its useful for you, but remeber this build is a year old now. You should be looking at the Sandy bridge I7s and maybe an Nvidia 570..

  • @RotationFSX My pleasure...and yes, I'm already on to it, just built my i7 2600k, with ud7 mobo on it :) Used the superclocked 480 which is still going strong and clocked the whole thing to 5ghz. With an SSD its amazing the performance you can get. All the best!

  • Can you tell me , which is better to play FSX, of this 3 that I can buy in my shop :

    NVIDIA GeForce GT440GIGABYTE;

PNY NVIDIA QUADRO FX 380 256MB GDDR3 PCI- E DUAL DVI ; or

    nVIDIA QUADRO NVS 295 PCI-E X16 Dual Monitor 256MB.

    Thanks for help.

  • @diogomarq13 I would get a proper card in via delivery from the internet mate. Those cards are a bit naff to be honest. You need something with at least 1GB ram on it to be on the safe side.

  • @diogomarq13 If you cant get delivery to where you live, go with the Geforce 4400. Let me know what you do :)

  • @RotationFSX Thanks man, you helped me a lot!! :)

  • @RotationFSX Hi , I've searched and I found an interesting graphic card : INNO 3D GEFORCE GTX 550 TI HERCULEZ - 1 GB GDDR5 - PCI-EXPRESS 2.0 (C550-1DDN-D5GWX) , maybe I'll buy this one. Do you think it's a good choise ?

  • Hello , I want to build a PC , but I don't know if it'll run FSX with high configurations and good FPS . Specs are:

    CPU - AMD PHENOM II X2 560 Dual-Core 3.3GHz

    Disk - WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB 16Mb SATA2 6Gb/s- WD5000AAKX

    PSU - CHIEFTEC 500W ATX PSII 85+ CTB-500S

    RAM - (Dimm TRANSCEND Jetram 2GB DDR3 1333 Single Rank RETAIL) 3X

    MB- ASUS CHIPSET INTEL G41 SK775 1333/DDR3/MATX - P5G41T-M LX

    GPU - VGA ASUS RADEON HD5570 1G HDMI/DDR3 PCIE2.1 - EAH5570 1GB

    Thanks

  • @diogomarq13

Change AMD for intel I5 or I7

do not use ATI cards for FSX - Nvidia for FSX.

Follow these rules and you wont go wrong.

  • @RotationFSX Thanks a lot!!!

  • @RotationFSX Is it good? :

    PNY NVIDIA QUADRO FX 380 256MB GDDR3 PCI- E DUAL DVI INTEL Core i5 2300 - 2.80GHz 6MB LGA 1155

Will my fsx be with good performarce?

  • @diogomarq13 Core I5 is fine, Choose a 5 series card like the 550 if you are on a budget. the 570 if you got some spare cash :)

  • @RotationFSX Is this graphic card so bad?.... cause the shop doens't have many options... just this and : nVIDIA QUADRO NVS 295 PCI-E X16 Dual Monitor 256MB

  • will this work: AMD Phenom ii x4 850 3,3 ghz, 500 gb 16mb 7200rpm, GTS 250 or GTX 550 Ti, 4gb ddr3 1600 mhz corsair vegeance, LC Power 550 watt and I dont know which motherboard should I get?

  • @RCHelios1 Hi, It will play FSX nicely, but if you want the best performance d go with the I5 or I7 Intel CPUs.

Always stick with Nvidia cards for FSX as AMD cards have trouble with stuttering clouds etc for some reason.

  • where u said ddr2 is a no, i have the amdx4 980 3.7 ghz overclocked to 4.7ghz, 4gb ddr2 800mhz ati 5570 650 sata hardrvive 10000 rpm blue ray/dvd rome, full tower case , i run this game on max settings exept for traffic at 60% and i get 90-120 fps, set my frames to limited to 120 cause thats how many frames the human eye sees

  • @sladewehner1 Well done

  • @sladewehner1 In fact, why in an earlier message just before this that you deleted ask me how well I thought your system would run? When all it seems you want to do is try and test me or brag..

  • Comment removed

  • do you think a nvidea geforce 440 gtx is enough? Thanks!

  • Will This Work? Computer Specs: eMachines W3050, AMD Athalon XP 2.33 GHz, 2GB Of Ram, ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB, Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit, 80GB Hard drive, (Sad Yes. Getting A New One Soon, Yes.) Direct X 11, And Nvidia Nforce Audio.

  • @superfart999 mmm it will run FSX, but dont expect fluid frames. Your Clock rate need to be OC'd to around 4ghz. Ati cards are not FSX friendly either and cause stuttering, you could do with 4GB memory. So erm nope.. sorry

  • no..that's me laughing at you

  • 30-40 fps !!! haha my pc laughs at that ! try 100-150 on the ground on unlimited fps settings ... ha 30-40 ! :)

  • @shamrock608 you do know thats probably without any add-ons correct? with add-ons you would probably get 20-35 and that is very good if the addons happen to be REX frap and any other type of payware sceneries.

  • @calidude4912 yes i have traffic x rex fraps and dublin intl by aerosoft

  • Beautiful video and nice build. You have done well! Its refreshing to hear someone, as I saw in a previous reply, who understands the FSX and the add-ons are very CPU intensive. I've seen guys spend hundreds on graphics cards and wonder why they still dont get great frames. I overclocked my cpu, and it worked like magic. Keep up the great work!

  • nice mobo

  • Is this a good set up for decent frame rates? Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium (Service Pack 1)

    Processor - AMD Phenom™ X4 quad-core processor

    Chipset - NVIDIA® GeForce® 8200

Memory - Up to 4 GB of DDR2 667/800 MHz SDRAM

    Harddrive - NVIDIA® GeForce® 8200 graphics solution

  • @FlyStarAlliance well if it is the AMD Phenim II X4 975 then yes

NVIDIA Geforce 8200, i'm using Saphirre Radeon 6950 2GB video memory.

and the DDR2 is a big no no in FSX use DDR3 instead, i have the corsair dominator 16GB 1333MHz.

my setup gives me very good frames (between 40-150FPS) on Ultra High setting in FSX

  • how mutch would that cost?

  • Is this good enough for high frames with CS/PMDG add-ons? Intel Double Core 650 i5 @ 3,20GHz DDR3 RAM @ 6GB HDD: 1TB @ 7200rpm nVidia Geforce GT420 @ 2GB Windows 7 HP - 64bit Or should I aim for: Intel Quad Core i7 2600 @ 3,40 GHz 8 GB RAM @ DDR3 HDD: 1TB @ 7200rpm nVidia Geforce GT420 @ 2GB Windows 7 HP 64-bit The i7 quad core computer costs about 240 pounds extra, is it worth the money? Please answer, thx :) Awesome vid btw
  • @Deltapilot96 - you'll be ok with the I5, but seriously if you can afford the I7 the please do it. Especially if you are going to be using CPU intensive add ons like the PMDG stuff. If you want to cut costs then you can go for 4GB of Ram as FSX doesnt use anything above that as far as I'm aware.

  • @RotationFSX Ok, thanks for quick reply :) I will see what I can do, aiming for the i7 :)

  • How about on laptop?

  • I built my PC for £800 with:

    AMD Phenom 4 955 @4.13Ghz on AIR

    Venom CPU Cooler

    Corsair 8Gb 1600Mhz

    ATI Radeon 5770

    Corsair 550Watt PS

  • @PSNdomgul58 LOL

  • outstanding build ... wish i knew how to OC my alienware lol :)

  • @JerdooFlightX Thanks JerdooFlight. Try and find out what mobo they use (I think its ASUS) Then track down how to OC it. :)

  • This looks really interesting...I'd like to try and build my own pc for flight sim. I have only ever used FS9 because of hardware limitations, but this is the way to go. Have you ever tried to run FS9 on your computer and if so how was it? Thanks!

  • omg i can only get 2fps on mine :(

  • @thehazzer09 I get 7 fp :(

I need that machine so bad!

  • @TheBadameco well im saving up about £600 for a new one cant wait though om half way there with £300

  • is the i7 920 a quad core, and the higher i7's 6 core?

  • Okay Thanks Its just 200 dollar left so i can make i

  • (continue for the last comment) cuz i want it to be a little cheaper and good but i wont if its not good please tell i Wanna know

  • @Mr99Padda - If you want the best performance and to be not sat in front of FSX wondering what if you had gone for the I7, then hold out, get some more money together and get the I7 Processor and Nvidia gaphics card for FSX. AMD will be ok, but not in the same league as I7

  • @RotationFSX sry buddy but i run fsx on an amd x6 and an intel i7 980X and the framerate just depends on the graphic card then and amd gets wiht crossfire more frames the the i7 with 2 nvidia 480's ;), the i7 just beats the AMD in fsx when you wanna use some programs while you play fsx , like skype.... then the AMD looses fatser power

  • @747LufthansaPilot - sorry Buddy but I think you'll find that the majority of the FSX commuity who know what they are on about would go for the intel any day over an AMD. Plus ATI cards..in crossfire!! what that all about.

Also how many people are going to be running two 480's!! I think you have mis judged what I made this video for..A cost effective benchmark PC for using FSX, not a 'money no object' super computer like what you're on about..

  • Hi again Ehh i have seen that a amd processor Sony fit in that motherboard but can you tell me if an amd phenom ii x6 processor is good and if an asus m4a89td motherboard would work instead cuz i want an amd if it is good cuz i want it to be a

  • Hi mate can you please tell whats the best. An intel core i7 920 or an amd phenom II x6 for fsx i would go for the intel but then i saw that the amd was cheaper but i want the best one for fsx wich one would you prefer ?

  • Can somebody tell me what is better for FSX GTS 250 1gb ddr3 256 bit or GTS 450 ddr5 128 bit?

  • 1489 in US dollars.... I don't care about graphics, just frame rate.

  • @skatedog05 - Eh?

  • @skatedog05 If you dont care about graphics and just frame rates... play fs9... fsx is basically designed for eye candy, you will get the framemates you want with half decent graphics with fs9

  • Im gonna fuck your rig.

  • @RCHelios1 - if you find a spare USB socket, you can hammer away all you want..

  • does a ASUS Nvidia 460 work instead of ASUS Nvidia 470 cuz i cant find it anywhere i cant find the extender anywhere eigther please tell me somewhere to buy it i live in sweden so there's not many storese for that thing

  • @Mr99Padda - Hi, yeah the 460 would cut it (make sure its 1gb or over Ram) However the Nvidia 500 series is out now and I'd go for one of those if you can find them. The GPU comes second, make sure you get that I7 for proper FSX performance first

  • what would help with lag the most: an i7 processor or a really good video card??

  • @fearfulAC130 - without a doubt the i7 processor as FSX is CPU intensive. Overclocked to 4ghz will give you amazing results

  • @RotationFSX what about the i5 vs the GTX 460 video card, help fight lag better?

  • @fearfulAC130 - It would get you by, but Id seriously think about the I7 for FSX, dont cut any corners.

the New Nvidia 500 series cards are out, check them out instead now..

  • @RotationFSX im running an i7 at 4.01GHz and have a EVGA GTX 570 SC, can completly max out FSX on all settings with a 1920 x 1200 28" monitor, with very playable fram rates arround 40fps on the ground and up to 55fps in air never drops below 35 al all. :)

  • @adamjamesroe - Nice one mate.

Get some videos up and show me how its looking bud.

  • Great Video! Can you tell me if this would work (FSX on ultra high + REX) : 2.8ghz Core i5, 4GB Ram, GTX260 or ATi5770. I'm on a really tight budget =(.

  • @737FSPilot - thanks 737,

That PC spec will yield decent results, although I wouldnt run it maxed out (I dont even do that with mine) Plus maybe change the gtx260 for a 460 card..

Post your results up when you have it running

  • @RotationFSX Ok thanks a lot. I will surely post my results up when I get it. Cheers!

  • this is not just a pc for FSX is a pc for every high-end game dude.

  • @Fijitime26 - Yeah it currently plays new releases with ease.

  • What about this?

    Amd phenom ii x2 555, nvidia GT240 gddr5 1gb, 6 gb ddr3 1600mhz xms, LC PSU 600watt, ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3, AMD 880G/SB850, 250.0 GB SAMSUNG Spinpoint F4, DVD±RW LG GH22NS, 22x, SATA, Dual layer, bulk, 19'' LCD LG W1946S.

  • hello, great vid really helpful. I'm considering making this rig with a few minor adjustments e.g. maybe an SSD, which popped the question were did you purchase the hardware?

  • @Lewy1997 - Hi, i got it from Scan.co.uk and Aria.co.uk.

The SSD will work a treat. I also tell you now that for FSX you wont be let down with this setup - It makes it a different simulation altogether.

  • @RotationFSX Yeah, well certainly cant wait. I'll be able to run the captain sim 757 for once :)

  • @Lewy1997 - Make sure you overclock the CPU to 4ghz too as this makes a big difference. Follow my guide once you have FSX up and running with all your add-ons etc.

  • @RotationFSX yeah, its really gr8 wht you've done with the videos, there proffesional and extremely helpful. Thanks :)

  • @hongkong57 well then drop 1 in and have some fun ati radeon 5970 is my favorite pcie graphics card!! (wish I had enough money to get 1 will prob be gettin a 5870) just remember that fsx demands high CPU performance overclocking is a good idea

  • @blowupuate13 - FSX doesnt like ATI cards, Nvidia is 'currently' the prefered card due to shading issue in the clouds etc with ATI (slowdown). this might not be the case with the new range coming out, but if you want the best for FSX go Nivdia 470/480.

ATI are best suited for other games.

  • @hongkong57 you can put any almost any graphics card as long as 1 your power supply has enough watts available to power the graphics card 2 your motherboard has the required slot available in this case the ati 5970 has pci and 3 it can fit in your case if all of these requirements are met HAVE FUN

  • hey can i use an ATI HD 5970?

  • @hongkong57 fuck yeah
