  • Funky superb plus maximus!

  • She is the ORIGINAL..Sophie Ellis Bextor would be the next version of Cathy..

  • I want her hair in this video.

  • Cathy Dennis is HOT!

  • he was in the background lol top tunage todays music is pants

  • The singer appears in the video. The guy of color

  • Just Another Dream", the true singer was an African-American disc jockey known as Dancin' Dan Hartzman.

  • According to Lyrics Freak:

"[I]t was widely believed for years that he was the voice behind the chorus of Cathy Dennis' song "Just Another Dream", when in fact the true singer was an African-American disc jockey known as Dancin' Dan Hartzman. Even after his visual appearance, it was still popular belief that he was miming for a black American singer. His brother Mike Astley helped to refute this assertion.

  • I remember thinking this girl was hot

  • One of my very favorite songs of the time!

  • I think the song was produced by Shep Pettibone and his assistant engineer Tony Shimkin of Madonna fame.

The guy's voice in chorus is Tony's. You can hear his voice in Madonna's "Why's It So Hard" from Erotica album too.

  • ..damn she's the woman wanted!

  • ..as our Imperial Majesty asking a question!..(She's a Fox! in Our First Royal Family of Man Jungle Book!) does Lindsay Bickford Creighton work?..over here! Sophie B Hawkins!...I know that it's twenty years later..but tha'd of been cool in all of us! communion!..Here's the Girl..Here's The Dream!

  • Driver!...that over-exposure in trying to love a man down Wilson Phillips!..oh yeah..Cathy Dennis!..REPLAY!

  • 1:07 - Best white girl moves EVER!

  • sooooooo......many memories !!!!!1 Thank you Cathy and many other great artists for the great 80's !!!!!

  • She is so underrated. Can't believe she never won any awards

  • Brought here by the news today. It was announced that the 2 most-played songs of the last decade were Can't Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie, and Toxic by Britney - and the most played TV theme in the world is the 'Idol' theme - all written by the (still very) lovely & talented Cathy!

  • Kathy Dennis, the bra-less wonder woman!!! :)

  • kathy dennis so cute,a great singer, and a racing driver to boot!,one cool chick :)

  • for those who keep thinking its rick astley in the background - discogs.com/Cathy-Dennis-Just-Another-Dream/release/544826

  • Did I just get Rick rolled?

  • Muchos recuerdos , buena canción.

  • ha se son que du bonheur

  • FUNKIE LOVE!!

  • I liked her hits back then...then I heard she helped Kyle Minogue with her albums and I was like cool!

  • One of 1991's finest!

  • i'm sorry to miss dennis but i find her to be the second most beautiful woman i've ever seen the first being my now in heaven wife CAROLAYA who was kathy dennis 130% 6ft2 just a bigger version, flawless who i lost to cancer 5 yrs ago at 52 still looking 25 skin like porcelin. I MISS HER EVERY FRICKIN DAY AND I KNOW SHE WATCHES OVER ME AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE HER RIP DOLL I'M 60 SHOULDNT BE TOO MUCH LONGER LOVE YOU AND THE KIDS MISS YOU AND WE ARE HAVING THANKSGIVING AT THE HOMESTEAD

  • CORRECTION! Danny D not Darryl Pandy!! oops

  • @potsymoore Will let you off just this once

  • It is DMOB and the singers name is Darryl Pandy! The fact I can remember that is pretty scary.

  • I honestly think the backup singer its Rick Ashley

  • @groovebear63 Yes it's Rick Ashley. I'm 100% sure.

  • @onie88 no, it's not Rick Astley (not Ashley)

  • I remember loving her hair colour & her voice. Also, she seemed 2 have a bit of balls about her, unlike all the other bleached blonde bimbos of that era.

  • the background vioce is actually rick astley, she was a stock aitken waterman girl

  • @tunutto I cannot believe how many people think that it's rick astley on backing vocals. Cathy was in no way associated with the ess-aitch-one-tee that was SAW

  • it does sound like rick astley, but it's d-mob

  • Back ground singer is Dancin Danny D from D MOB

  • Excellent music like this is still around, just not in the charts, but on here, on CDs, vinyl, anywhere. Who needs today's chart music? Reject today's music, and it'll go, quick as a flash, by not bothering with it ;-)

Cathy Dennis didn't need to appear slutty to make the music appeal... her voice, the words, and the music did that... that's what music will always be about.

  • @geography27 erm stuff like this is todays chart music, Cathy Dennis has written number one hits for s Club 7, Kylie Minogue, Will Young, Britney Spears, Sugarbabes, Kate Perry and Diana Vickers

  • to PeterParka75

the music of today isn't excellent, it doesn't sound like this... fun, meaningful, energetic, soft electronic sounding too... the music in the charts now is kept 'middle of the road' and a little too autotuned.... yeah, Cathy has gone into writing for others now, but a lot of the singers you list certainly can't be compared to Cathy Dennis, who should've sung the songs herself! ;-)

  • wooooow i miss this..... what happened to good music its GONE :(

  • Love it!

  • la version de esta tia es una mierda! prefiero a fonda rae

  • @nomellamesnene esta no es "touch me", enterate de las cosas bien

  • @tecnoborg75 me entero de lo que me sale del ano

  • @nomellamesnene por eso eres gay

  • @tecnoborg75 claro!

  • one of my jam's thanx for uploading, "funky love"

  • I Love Me Some Redheads! :) ;)

  • rick astley?

  • i wasnt to old but damn this brings back memorys now a days music is all

about yeah bling bling smack my bitch till it stings or i got mo doe

    from ladys whos a hoe

  • Thank you for uploading.

This reminds me of my high school days.

    懐かしい

  • Ah good old Cathy from my home city...I danced next to her many times in local clubs lol ! (if only I had bothered to chat her up) dam! turns out she was better at writing than singing..the rest is history

  • It may not be Rick Astley doing the backgrounds, but it sure as hell sounds like it!!

  • @somewhatlongdong I think its the lead singer from the group called DTrain. If you look up a song called "Keep On" or "You're the one for me" by DTrain, you can hear DTrain Williams distinct vocals...

  • @sblizzy Close but no cigar. You're thinking of James "D Train" Williams

  • Comment removed

  • @somewhatlongdong Agreed ♥♥

  • @somewhatlongdong It is Rick Astley.

  • @kel9591 no it isn't

  • @somewhatlongdong

    It probably was him...

  • simply delightful!! this song cheers me up at any time and Miss Dennis is never out-dated. there was no need to show the crack of her butt, splash herself with blood, claim she's pro-gay or not just win public appeal, curse, use auto-tune, pretend being "gangstah" of any other bullshit of nowadays pop-business ... miss those great years in music.

  • CCm800 I have to agree with you I thought it was Rick Ashley but someone pointed out in a prior post that it was not. But I have to say it does sound just like him.

  • This came out when i just came into this world wow. Discovered this last month it's not that bad. :)

  • still sounds good

  • i just love early 90s pop-dance videos! so delightfully formulaic. crazy camera angles! ADHD editing! 17 costumes changes! dancers in silhouette! shirtless black men! all filmed in half a day for under $1000.

  • Yep ... early 90's ... America was still Rocking (anyone know where to get MTV Spring Break - Beaty & the Beach for 1991, 1992 maybe 1990 ?)

  • I was in love with her!!!

  • this pv looks like cm of Vidal Sassoon. beautiful orange & short cut! And beautiful green eyes.

  • she was awesome

  • Good Lord, was Cathy soooo cute. Love them redheads...

  • It is Rick Astley on backing vocals! His voice has always been rather distinctive. This is a great Cathy Dennis track, so peppy and gets you going!

  • It is Rick Astley on backing vocals! His voice has always been rather distinctive. This is a great Cathy Dennis track, so peppy and gets you going!

  • backing vocals Dancin' Danny D (born Daniel Kojo Poku) from D-MOB

  • Cathy Dennis, Ace of Base, Bobby Brown, Bel Biv Devo . . .. .says it all. Work it sister, classically. Peace!

  • Everytime I hear this it reminds me of that great show Beverly Hills 90210!!

  • Cathy Dennis gives me good vibes, and I want to give her funky love.

  • i still love this song, this and touch me are on my mp3, as well as a few others, always brings me back to what was a great time for dance music ( british ) rick astley included* when some new artist came out and actually made an impact. ( she is an award winning song writer for kylie and brittany etc...) i just wish that she had stronger albums for herself after 'move to this' *internationally ie canada. i have bought almost every remix, extended version etc of them...still play all

  • I will for ever love the late 80's and early 90's . when you want to hear real music that was it...........the music today no way compares to this

  • @lovemealways7 there is good real music today mabey you got old just like my grand-pa hated my style of music back in 80's and 90's and thougth the 50s were real music

  • funky love funky love

  • yeah the problem is that todays music has no or very little soul. Something happen to us along the way.

  • @adamcomedy2 lol........yeah a lot of sampling

  • Great video from the past, I put it on my Website Goozled.com and ive had great feedback... also there's alot more at my site....Enjoy!!

  • I haven't herd this in years sooo many memories I wish I could go back just don't make'em like they used to

  • and to think color clashing would become fashionable again 20 years later...

  • man, during the 2nd prechorus she has it goin on. i feel like a kid again.

  • She didn't pioneer this type of bland brit pop, but she shure as hell perpetuated it!

  • My favorite song from her, no doubt! She looks great too!

  • sorry to read this...may she rest in peace!!!! just hang on tight!

  • Sounds like Rick Astley on backing vocals. She's great.

  • @alphasun1 read the older posts! Ok you sounds like, not "it is Rick Astley". It's Danny from D Mob!!!

  • Ah. I was a big fan of Cathy Dennis. However i only really liked her first album. 90's music was so incredibly good. Especially early 90s music. Whats happened to music now? its so shit.

  • I loved Cathy Dennis. I'd always hoped she woul make another hit album, with tunes as poptastic as this one. She has helped revive a few pop careers with her song writing talent. Kylie 'Can't Get You Outta My Head', Britney Spears 'Toxic'. Go Cathy! Good British talent.

  • Thumbs up for Cathy Dennis, the beautiful read haired pop diva of the early 90's. This is the hit song from Cathy Dennis I first heard, I have her album "Move To This."

  • Even this crap makes Justin Bieber look bad!

  • Backing vocal could be D-MOB, but still a banger.

  • I think she would've made an awesome Josie for Josie and the Pussycats.

  • im single cathy xx

  • tbh gents the 2 of u are just a pair of spotters stfu and listen to the music instead

  • Remember when MTV had videos? I think she performed Touch Me at MTV's Spring Break Concert.

  • I don't care what she looks like. If she looked like Sloth from The Goonies it wouldn't make any difference to me. People who actually listen and buy music based on a preformers looks are pretty frikken shallow. I love this track and I want to get it on 12" vinyl eventually.

  • @twilolight lmao...thanks for that!

  • Cathy is soooooo cute!!

  • FUCKING FANTASTIC..!!!

  • Just pure, dazzling fun, enough said.

  • nothin like the stealthy "Rick Roll"

  • maybe she was one the first pioneering & popular 'untypical' looking/sounding female singers, i remember her songs & moves so well hahaha, when i first heard her & DMob im pretty sure i thought she was black...!

  • @CrazyMusicDivaNZ Why do loads of people keep saying this-" oh, thought she was black". Rick Astley got this too. She sounds as white as she is. Does anyone ever say-"God, thought that black woman/man sounded white". No-cos that would sound inappropriate at the very least. Why isn't it the other way around. Isn't this a kind of reverse-racism which infers whites could never hope to sound/record anything as wonderful as blacks do? Someone please explain. Above all, use your eyes people!

  • @TheMjblades Reverse racism is kinda extra! Besides they did that to Whitney Houston,Lionel Ritchie and others...saying they sounded white or not black enough. So it goes both ways. All in all I think people should just enjoy the music.

  • @RememberTheTime09 You're right, we should just enjoy it if it's good. Back in the 80s the sexism was bad enough. Kim Wilde, Toyah, Kirsty MacColl, Sandra Cretu etc. all their songs and work never given their dues cos the music journos & inbuilt prejudice ruled back then-i.e they're women so lets' not act like their songs are worth it. Madogga only changed that for herself & she's worth nada. Of course now there's tonnes of tarts making records & getting loved, only they're all lacking today!

  • @TheMjblades Yeah but I dont think the sexism is over its just a different kind and now we have ageism like nobody's business...really sad b/c the art is suffering. Plus lots of 'acts' are just selling out in the worst way. I miss the old days in the music biz. When I hear a song by someone like Cathy I just light up...it was good/simpler times haha.

  • @RememberTheTime09 I completely agree it was better times-we also had more good stuff than bad-unlike now. Best of all we had a singles market, so at least everyone had a better platform to launch their stuff off-not so now, were if it's good, it gets no attention and you have to seek it out and no one else cares! Whereas all the insipid 20year olds with no talent just do a fart and get a million hits by even twattier farts on youtube and there a star and every label left wants them! Oh God!

  • @TheMjblades Well it was 90/91 & would always hear the song before seeing the vid back then..! it was unusual for Caucasians to be doing this music so all I thought was that i liked the song & it was on a pirate predominantly rap station so it was a natural assumption. But its just my personal opinion and I think yeah its a bit prejuidiced not racist & is nothing on the singer, as I said I became a fan of hers more than DMob anyway! All in all as rememberthetime says 'enjoy the music'...

  • @TheMjblades its just a comment please, back then these sounding tunes were normally black ppl & I was half right, DMob are black and they/he produced a few of her songs... With no internet to view clips as soon as songs came out in 1991.. you had to use your imagination!!! Im mixed race so I dont really care what colour a singer is, it was just a comment dude.

  • FIT

  • there has been only one woman ive ever seen with red real red hair and such deep green eyes as kathy dennis and that was my wife now deceased. i have to watch this video everyonce in a while just to rebreak my heart to make sure i'm not just numb these last 5 years. she was taken from me at age 52 and looked 25. • a wouldnt say no.lol

  • Aww, how special of the UMG fuckerholes to allow a couple of these videos on Shittube. At least it's one of her best. Never got to see this video on Friday Night Videos back in the day. Fucking UMG cockbaskets. :P

  • @turbohusque super intelligent sexi higher plane life form ...i adore her

  • @turbohusque Easy. I don't work for these scumbags. But the point of music is universal access. Universal appreciation. Nothing in life is perfect. From Krackow to Brooklyn, the truth will be told.

  • for all people who want to know, the backin vocals are by danny d AKA d-mob.....this is a favour for the return of a favour....look up D-MOB...FT CATHY DENNIS - C'MON GET MY LOVE..........not rick astley as people keep goin on about......

  • gorgeousssssssssssss

  • Go On Miss Cathy I Love You Girl!!! This Was My Jam Back In The Day! :)

  • Definitely a fox. That smile of hers could melt an iceberg.

    2:17

  • Cathy was my fave female pop star back then!! Her song "Too Many Walls" is still a fave of mine!! Brings back so many great memories!! F**k life goes by way too fast!!

  • @TigerCrazy73 Hell yeah...I still rock that too! Also, "My Beating Heart" is awesome!

  • @ccm800 oui c'est bien la voix de rick ,(yes ,it's on voice of rick ,sorry for my bad speack english ,bye)

  • @ccm800 its the guy from d-mob where she started!!!

  • @ccm800 I always wondered if it was him.

  • @ccm800 nope, Dancin' Danny D is on backing vocals

  • @musiclover3928

seriously? I always thought it was Rick Astley

  • @ccm800 Now that U've made the comparison, I agree! Though it's actually Dancin' Danny D, her partner in early 90s dance group D-Mob. I always thought their voioces made 4 such a yummy aural confection....Shouldn't have disbanded sssssssso quickly;~(

  • @ccm800 it is!!! loved this song

  • @ccm800 actually it isnt though i believed all these years it was lol it was Dancin' Danny D on backing vocals

  • @ccm800

The structure and layering of the music also has a Rick Astley feel to it. I wonder if they had the same people helping them craft their songs.

  • @nightowl8936 Yes, they had the same producers.

  • @nightowl8936 Are you being serious? Do you think that Cathy or Danny from D Mob would let anyone associated with SAW to be in the same studio!

  • @nightowl8936 - Noooo, she just got Rick rolled, that's all. hehe.

  • @nightowl8936 well, they are both british so its possible.

  • Tuneage x

  • wow, should really see the live version. i was suprised her voice sounds just like this version. not manipulated in a studio. such a hot looking lady with a great voice. too bad she didn't make more music i am aware of.

  • such great voice inflections. it really matches the melody of the song. very smooth. super catchy.

  • is that rick astley on backing vocals,...????

  • @DEANOCHILL No it's not. I thought that myself when this song first came out. it's some dude named DJ something. I'm 90% sure about that.

  • @DJWriter28 thats d mob on backing, she returned the favour on 1 of his tracks "d-mob ft cathy dennis - c'mon get my love"

  • @djjimmym might of been visa versa tho not sure as the 2 tracks was very close on release

  • @DEANOCHILL oui je pense que c'est bien la voix de rick astley (yes i think than rick astley voice) sorry for my speak english no good

  • @alai62 your English is great alai62,...thanks for your message,..

  • @DEANOCHILL See previous posts, no it's not

  • God, I love this song. I love this girl. She's like a Percocet or something. Miss her stuff so much.

  • Ahhhhhh! Middle school!

  • I remember dancing myself into a coma on this joint. I love House Music!

  • Loved her from her Kold Kuts days!!! Where is she now???

  • @lacrazia3 she rote the song toxic for britney

  • Quad442, I saw your Channel and I see you are a REAL fan !

When I saw the "Just Another Dream" video for the first time on TV, I went to a CD store to buy the "Move To This" album the same day I saw that Video. She became my ultimate favorite singer / songwriter for 20 years !!! She is brilliant. She writes music for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and other artists ! I wish she would make more albums of her own. There are still alot of fans out there ! So, thanks for Uploading this great video !
