So just a quick question... I've just finished jailbreaking my device and its now asking me if I should set up as a new iPhone or if I should restore from backup either from iCloud or from iTunes. Which should I choose? I mean, I have chosen the snowbreeze IPSW and then it says on itunes that the iphone has been restored to factory settings, although cydia is now on my iphone. and I want all my stuff that I had before the jailbreak to be back on my phone, is that possible?

Anyone know how to fix this problem? . I did all the steps my iPod Touch is 4G 5.0.1 as stated above of this video that this iOS is indeed supported. Everything was going good till i came across the jailbreaking part . Did everything right but at the third step my ipod shows me the connect to itunes screen. Although i rated this jailbreak a "like" I think it's just messed up a little bit for me. Cydia opens and crashes so that's pointless. (even with full restart or respring). Safari is the same deal, opens and then crash. So I will just go back restore and use redsnow.

@DinoZambas2 I am trying to add sources to cydia, but for some of the sources I keep getting an error message saying "POSIX: Process Timed Out." and at the end I get GPG errors with it saying affter " Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones were used instead"

@hellshack I installed fine, but since then I have only been having problems I consistently get stuck on the apple logo on reboots. I have to reset once or twice and it finally boots up. Is anyone else having these problems? I went to downgrade back to 4.3.3 but then I got the error on restore. I even just tried to rerun 5.0.1 over the top and get couldn't restore.  Very irritating I knew I should have waited especially since I was running problem free on 4.3.3.

@hellshack @hellshack you have to download a program called tinyumbrella to fix that. Cydia is withholding verification from apple to restore so to undo this you have to go into tinyumbrella, while your ipod is connected to your computer. Go to the advanced tab and uncheck the box that says "Set Host to cydia on exit". Then restart your computer and try to restore your ipod again. It should work.

now to find all my data from my phone on my old computer and copy over to the new one so it doesn't sync it all up as blank i guess i'll be doing this tonight when i have more time then, i guess do a backup first? then sync but uncheck everything ? apps music contacts etc? and then update to 5.0.1 and do the jailbreak and see how it goes.

I am currently on ios 4.3.3 jailbroken using gevey ultra to unlock with an originally ATT iphone 4.. Can anyone explain the activation method once I have updated and preserved. @Bahzad23 the iphone 4s has a special chip that incorporates fine security which then is difficult to jailbreak pod 2g the one who creates the jailbreaks had this jailbreak earlier he had it i think in september 2011 but apple pushed out new firmware and the the new firmware patched the jailbreak
