The car in this video screams GT badged 6 cylinder and if i wrong about that then there are two more posibilities.......SI is not as close to stock as claimed or Mustang driver wasnt really racing. well thats all i have to say.....i dont wanna down honda because they are good cars but to claim this video is exactly what meets the eye isnt plausible. and by they way.....the driver of the stang should be smacked for the horrific body kit and lights.   • I own a 2002 mustang GT and a 2002 SVT focus so im not talking out of my ass im talking strickly from experience. The focus is my gas saver and does a good job of that. The Mustang is my weekend fun car. watching this video puzzles me. My focus runs with my buddies 08 SI almost dead even he has me by maybe a bumber in a quarter. My mustang is a different story. We are seperated by over a second in the 1320. His car has exhaust, cold air, short throw shifter my car has flowmasters, CAI, and......

  • Like everyone else i have my opinions weaved with facts. Honda makes some dependable fair priced cars with good gas mileage with fairly decent power for a 4 cylinder. But by no means are they raccars. I've gone to the track for as long as i can remember and its always been a vicious cycle between domestics and imports especially since fast and furious made every civic owner feel invincible and unbeatable with autozone bought boltons............

  • @90masflow yeah that's always been Honda's philosophy. Lightweight and higher optimization means quickness. Doesn't have to be a big engine to be fast. It's all about power to weight.

  • i gotta say, im a big mustang fan, I love fords, I have a roushcharged F-150. I hate hondas with a passion, i think they are queer little chick/spic cars, I dont care how new or fast they are, nothing can compare to the roar and torque of a V-8. BUT, those civic SI's are VERY impressive, very quick for what they are, and i am glad it beat the spic'd out stang. BUT, that mustang deffinately did not punch it, u can tell by the sound, it didnt rev very much, and it was quiet as shit.

  • and I use to own a 02' GT just like this one in the vid, and even with the pathetic 4.6 2 valve, bone stock, without even an exhaust it ran 14.2's. thats just as fast, if not faster than a STOCK SI like the one in this vid. just puttin it out there

  • Stop crying? i consider in the 13s quick not fast for stock ... my car stock runs in the 13s and can drop in the 12s.. and just so you know the exhaust is in the back of the car and because the mustang is losing you can not hear it all you hear is the wind you dont even hear the civics exhaust and the camera is in that car... you my friend are not very intelligent

    civic si will take a rsx s.

    almost the same power but the si is lighter.

  • I would be so embarrased if I was the stang driver. I'd probably sell it and get a Camry and be done with the tuning scene. It's lovely to see a 4cyl beat a "big bad V8" I can't wait to work my Si and get a good tune. Should be puttin down 230-240 all motor...see you stangs in the rear view mirror.

  • For one, they don't make RSX-S anymore. And no, they don't "beat" civics. They have the same motor. In practicality they are the same car. And no, a spec v will not beat an si, I'm positive of that as an si owner. A civic with an intake and an exhaust alone puts 200hp on the ground, give or take 1 or 2 hp. So once again, no there isn't a 4 cyl that beats a civic si (that is even made anymore and doesn't look like shit) :D

  • i beg to differ. riced out mustangs like this one are garbage. Hondas get good gas mileage, have no torque, have a little bit of HP, and sound horrible. A Civic could never run with a mustang of the same year. stock for stock or if they had the same mods

  • i have an 09 civic si n I beat this guy with my girl. he drives one of the newer gt's and i beat him. twice. everything is a factor in a race. and no matter what the excuse is, a loss is a loss. and if you want to complain about it, don't go into a race that you're not so sure on. don't hate on civics though. their the fastest of the slow. there isn't many 4 cylinder non-turbo cars that can beat a civic (which means that it is in the civic's class) i can't think of one, really. someone help me.

  • honestly i love hondas. im not hatin on them. im just saying that an 08 si vs an 08 mustang gt isnt a race the gt would easily win. you are right about them being on of the quickest non turbo I4s out there though. the gt in this vid is a 99-04 which came with an iron 16valve 4.6 heavy and powerless. the 2005-2009 come with an all aluminum 24 valve 4.6 which outperforms the 99-04's substantialy. i can believe a new si beating a 99-04 but not an 05+

  • turbo?? that hondata reflash easily puts those si's into the low 14 or high 13s with a decent driver. that body style mustang is not the most powerful either...i used to own an sn95 haha

  • this shows the difference between domestic and Japanese engineering. Most likely the civic was not stock, but neither was the mustang. But that civic was fast considering its running on 4 tiny pistons vs 8 big pistons in the ford.
