  • The reason their so popular is because there flights are so cheapy, lol. I'm glad I made a safe landing when I decided to switch from aer lingus to ryanair for one flight.

  • brilliant!

  • brilliant!

  • 23 people are standing, HA HAA HA!!!

  • I've had no problems when I flew with Ryanair in the past

  • @branie99 nor i.

  • Its funny when he laughs

  • Standing seats IS A PUBLICITY STUNT. Have you had even remote amounts of common sense you'd realize there are no safety regulations for standing passengers, because this concept is too ABSURD for anyone with a slightest idea about aviation to even consider this. If you were wondering how Ryanair fuels it's success - it runs on bullshit like this. How can anyone believe it is beyond my perception.

  • @dranjam2 NO hes talked to seat manufacturers and theres patents

  • Michael O Leary's business strategy is second to none,It may be unethical,Its that uethical that when students do projects on uethical behaviour they do it on Ryanair. But the question is,Would Aer Lingus be able to do what he does as well as he does it,the answer is no,and would he be able to do what Aer Lingus do better than Aer Lingus do it,the answer is a definite yes.Ryanair are the Lidl and Aldi of Air travel, low cost,no frills

  • To alslevie 1986

My friend, when you come out of Lidl or Aldi you are happy and content. When you get off a Ryanair flight you feel like kissing the ground, content that you have arrived with at least one remaining shred of your dignity intact. That's the difference

  • ale zal kurwa

  • Hello everybody......I am pilot my self, working in a European Airline.Rayanair tray to get more money from passengers bay this stupid ideas....not thinking about people with for example IPOTASIS, SMALL CHILDREN,people with mobility problems or OLD PEOPLE which they can not stand up more than 15 min. Even if rayan has special seats for standing up so thay can increase the amount of passengers, blood gos down to feet. How this people will stand up in this kind of situation?

  • @aeronaftikos you english is very bad, hence your not a pilot!

  • @aeronaftikos Sir, people can make choices. As far as I know now one will force you to buy a Ryanair ticket.

If they are able to make my fly 1000km for 10€ I don't really care if I'm gonna stay "standing", because I'd rather stand for 60 minutes than spending 200€ with other airlines.

  • Haha true, everybody who says they hate ryanair, are the same people that will happily fly with them on their holidays, or will atleast contemplant buying a ticket with them.

Call this guy a prick if you want, but he is probably the best CEO in the world - to date is even a possibility. BA - been around 90 years Ryanair - 20 BA and the worlds leading airlines are losing billions and are now folling MO'Ls - crazy - but worthwhile schemes

  • i agree with u,cheap fares,no one should be complaing and the safest airline in europe or nealy the world. much safer than ba

  • Ok, but in context they arent the safest airline in the europe ! BA maintain there planes to a much higher standard than RyanAir, they also do check them more etc ...

  • I dont think so.not any more with the cost cutting plan BA has. Ryanair is looking after there planes more now. They made a big profit this year and also has a very moderen fleet thier oldest plane is 11 years old and has something like 200 aircraft on order

  • Yeah but did you ever see dispatches? I dont think BA would skimp on safety like that. Yes I know some of it was bullcrap but you wouldnt be able to make a dispatches about BA like that.

  • @FlightCrewWannaBe that documentery was a hit job and lots of bogus scenes in it it was critisised by the CAA afterwards.

  • Yes I know that what did I say

  • You know. I kind of admire Michael O Leary. His entrepreneurial skills are second to none. He runs his business, he doesn't just play with it like Aer Lingus. And in fairness he gets us where we need to go cheaply and quickly and in the end thats all I really care about. And if I was to pick someone to run a business he'd be my first choice. Also he's still managing to run a profitable business in the midst of a recession and for this I admire him!

  • Interesting the way the debate goes. There are those who are annoyed that people should be treated like cattle by a scarcely human post thatcherite con man and those who don't care whatever happens as long as they think it saves them a few pennies. Personally, I like to think that ethics go a little deeper than simply how (apparently) cheap something is.

  • Ryanair is saving me money, and because I can read I don't get caught out!

I'm suscribed on their e-mail service, and have flown on a day return flight for 2p return with a visa electron.

I've never paid more than 50 quid return, and for an airline that's great. Try and get the same deal on our trains, which are cramped, smelly, delayed and don't even travel a quarter of the distance in the same time.

No, don't mock Ryanair I fly once a month thanks to those bastards :). Thankyou O leary.

  • We should thank to Ryanair for affordable prices at BA, SAS, and other national airlines, as well as for the whole bunch of budget airlines. Don't like - don't fly, I have had lots of cheap trips thanks to them, and I will be very happy to stand, too - less space, less CO2 per person. Thumbs up to ryanair!

  • O'Leary is a 'smug fucker'...he'd sell his granny a seat on ryanair...Any short man that wears cuban heels, jeans with a suit jacket an open shirt is tryin to make up for somethin'...This little napoleon needs to be stepped on..modelling himself on Sarkosy no doubt...always bangin' on about creatin' jobs but was willin to sacrifice same jobs last year if he didnt get his way...O'leary's only master is money...I think the word im lookin for to describe this little mercenary is a 'CUNT'...

  • Ok everybody hates Ryanair but everybody loves them in the same time. Prices are excellent, but you have to know how to travel. ! bag is 1 bag. And 1 kilo more is paying. Just read the terms and conditions before flying. And follow everything... Enjoy your flight.

  • hahahahah

  • or aer lingus

  • mornin crew are deadly hahahahha love it!!!

  • The last time I flew RyanAir it cost me over £1000!! £68 for the flight to France, £30 extra to carry a bike and £1200 for repairs to the bike when it came off the plane (broken bottom bracket and two buckled wheels). No reply from RyanAir nothing. Id like to get one of their planes and fly it right up Michael OLearys arse.

  • Ryan Air have a strict no compensation policy for any reason, if you were worried about the condition of your bike you should have flown with a legacy carrier like BA that include possession insurance Ryan Air are cheap for a reason you know and you get what you pay for if you don't like it don't fly ryanair.

  • Yep, no compensation, no complaints, no regard for the customers or their rights whatsoever. If you think that human beings should be treated like cattle then this is the airline to use!

  • you pay more and you're treated like cattle there too!

  • @EpicSlug FUCK OFF Micheal we all know its you!

  • i think its a fab idea i mean if a flight is say 20 quid and u get it half price or free then great its only an hr to paris andbrussels evn eless for ireland so i say ur ideas r crazy but ppl r crazy so go 4 it!! :D

  • are you mad?

  • I was on a few ryanair flights last week, all full... so this is only some light comedy by ryanair....

  • I think this clown is destroying the company. PR gags work in show-biz. I don't think this is good publicity for Ryanair.

Will O Leary next propose to piss on people so they can get on for free?

I am now only flying Ryanair where there is no other company that flies the same route for additional 100Euros. This clown will feel that passenger are not cattle and that the real hard core passengers, the real frequent travelers, are not teenagers, not morons.

  • Friend of mine who who is a pilot says that the aircrafts that ryanair use (737-800) can carry only about 189 passangers for evacuation reasons and that is the number of seats that they currently have on their planes...

  • I would stand for free??? 30 mins Dub - Liverpool??

  • Everytime I see O'Leary's mug I get the urge to punch it.

  • Publicity stunt? I dont see how this is going to help ryanair. I think this is dispicable. Next he is going to advertise that if he pisses on you u ll have a discount.

    I hope Ryanair goes down!

  • This is a publicty stunt ! i wont happen unless ryanair install more emergency exits and employ more cabin crew on board at the cost of millions !

  • what if they were to change their existing orders for 738's to 739's with an additional set of exit doors, if they employed another member of crew surely they would be able to do it?

  • yes that could work if they had 189 regular seats and then filled the extra space on the 739 with the upright ones . Thet could still only carry a limited number of people onboard(it think the 739 is certified for 212 pax) and then there is need for more crew and they might not convrte their order to easily but maby in the future sometime !

  • yeah, i mean it seems like a good idea in theory though I wonder has O'Leary considered the cost or practicality of it

  • God lord no!!! What a stupid idea, what else are they going to do to try and make money?!?!

I know what, how about taking the room off of the plane to make it lighter and use less fuel!?!?!

    Sorry will not work!!

  • Fantastic Idea.

How about taking out ALL of the toilets and introduce a urinal OR better still

offer a colostamy bag for all passengers !

  • great song :)

  • This guy is just pathetic.

  • genius?

Ryanair Holdings may offer free flights to passengers willing to stand up during flights of less than 90 minutes, Sky News reported, citing chief executive Michael O'Leary.

Mr O'Leary said he got the idea from a similar concept that China's Spring Airlines is reportedly looking at, Sky News said, adding that the airline said any move would have to be approved by the Irish Aviation Authority.

At 2pm today Ryanair shares were trading down 2 per cent at €3.17.

  • What a genius of a song !

  • haha very funny luv the mornin crew

  • @vipergraz

Talking 'bout hard landings.. have you ever had any other kind of landing when flying Ryanair? Ryanair planes don't land. they arrive, cos that's all you've paid for. :-D

  • wat a song ?????????????/

  • People still want to have their asses licked on the lowest cost flights!.if u choose to travel on the budget just sit down and fly where you flying without spreading ur opinion how horrible is low cost..if you can pay business class on BA (and get ur "free" watery coffee) or go Emirates to 5*hotel in Dubai - no problem-complain if smth not satisfying ur majesty..but plz dont pretend u are smb if u are frequent Ryanair flyer!no matter how bad they are they made travelling affordable for everyone

  • When I emigrated to another country my suitcase was 2 kilograms over the 15kg limit and I was charged 30 euro. This extra money would have bought me a ticket with one of the other airlines you seem to think are not affordable, all of whom have a 20kg limit. Incidentally it had weighed 15 kilograms when I checked it at home.

  • so what. there're a business...they want to make money and have the biggest margins possible. if 3 people on each flight do as you did that's an extra 90 euro a flight....that'll increase profits by millions of pounds a year. it's called a business sweety....

''but what if they dont have any customers left. they'll all leave cos of the charges''

no they won't. demand for ryanair flights is extremely high because if you read the t and cs it;s cheap as. they will continue to fill the plane.

  • What choice did I have!? I was emigrating! I make 3 euro an hour In the Czech Republic; I had to work for 10 hours to pay back that fine. For TWO KILOGRAMS.

And as I said it only weighed 15 kilograms in reality! It weighed 15 and a half when I got to Standstead for the transfer flight and I didn't take anything out!

  • it's called price ineleastic demand. it's an economic concept, deal with it

  • its a stunt to generate free advertising like paying to use the toilet

  • Paying for the toilet was considered a stunt firstly, but it has come into effect on some planes already. I flew the route London-Stansted to Bratislava few weeks ago and the coin slot has already been installed on all of the toilets. So he was actually serious about it.

  • good god i am surprised i think i would try to not go mad thanks for info take care

  • ooooh reeaaaally? can u tell me the A/C registration? .......

  • me neither

  • Michael O'Leary is calling us stupids in this ad. I hate this guy. I do not fly with ryanair.

  • The only way this airline works is by Add, stupid add like this one, the fact is that everybody is talking about it, and people are curious, checked it out, like you, me, everyboby, because you do have googled it to be reading it, it makes people curious, and unfortunately it works !

  • It is a farce. A bed taste one. However, MOL (Master of Lowcost) is brilliant sale person!

  • Please do people think MO'L is serious about people standing on flights com'on guys, but this song is very funny 98fm are great for coming up these gags, I would love to meet the person who makes them up, he/she would make my day lol.

  • Comment removed

  • It's all MARKETING TRICKS! Standing spots, removing toilets, overweight charge. Unbelievable how STUPID people are to believe all that. Ryanair gets free advertisement on many major newspapers and web sites just by coming up with these ideas. And oh my, how many people fall for it. You're so stuuuupiiiid! O'Leary is brilliant.

  • standing in planes CAN be dangerous and i won't do this at ANYTIME in my life. i think its very uncomfortable and on a flight, doesn't matter how long it takes i want to relax

now to the negative reviews of ryanair: ryanair definitely the BEST airline for young people who don't have much money. as like me, was able to visit my girlfriend who's an au pair, twice thanks to ryanair!! if i had to fly with any other airline i don't know if i were able to fly even once!

    cheers :)

  • fuck ryanair

  • Safety is going out of aviation if this thing passes...well I'll consider to change my work for sure, guys can you think for a moment, we are flying..we ARE NOT on A bus..

In an emergency landing you will be killed for sure..

In a hard landing maybe your legs could break or you could have spine injuries...have you ever thought about this before speaking?? And HARD or very HARD LANDING happen very often...for me it's just a crazy pubblicity spot...in this case..well...let's take it as a joke!

  • me parto y me mondo jejejejejejejej

  • why not

  • It is a good idea. I would totaly support it. I mean, you often pay hundreds of pounds for trains and are not even guaranteed a seat on a 4 hour journey, so why not stand an hour on a plane when the tickets often costs less than a pound. Michael has great ideas and has certainly influenced the aviaton industry. I like the way Ryanair targets other airlines for they excessive rates. Please keep the ideas coming :-)

  • I think Michael O Leary is a genius when it comes to business. He has completely turned Ryanair from a loss-making, small airline to one of the world's most successful airlines. He is hugely entertaining and his ideas are getting better and better. Sure many of you complain....but you still fly with ryanair dont ya?? cos its bloody cheap!! :)

  • I can't believe people think it's real. Do they think the seat belts will be roof to floor as well? Come on people, lol!

Brilliant song Dermot, Dave & Siobhan - quite possibly funnier than 'Lady Gaga's' Carrickmines, ha ha ha!!

  • wat a leg he keeps thinkng up ways of how to save money hes amazing but still keep 60% seated

  • If you're so stupid that you don't realise this was a PR stunt, then I really pity you!

  • Wat do you mean "In Ireland"?its got nothing to do with Ireland!!! and FYI we have seats in our busses too, which might I add are much more modern than anywhere in Europe or the USA!! If you don't like Ryanair don't fly with them simple as.

  • brilliant!!!

  • Well done, great one :)

  • HAHAHA!!!! omg, made me fall of my chair, lol

  • great song dave!!!
