Cap and trade will double the price of American wheat and corn,the staple food of the poorest people worlwide-National Geographic.Will this ensure a higher death rate and depopulation-of course?But the limo hugggers of Copenhagen are onboard for the feast at the poorest peoples expense-how can this be justified?
$145 trillion? Who are "us"??? This is BS because the U.S. only has a GDP of about $15 trillion/year, so if he's right (which he never is) then it must be worldwide and besides that, it's an investment that will have to be made someday. Why postpone it any longer?
Anyone who says Fox is kissing Republican butt hasn't heard about Murdoch's endorsement of Hillary Clinton. That aside...can we get some damn perspective, here? If our planet is going to be destroyed by GW, I want to fix it. But as someone who cares about what's important in society, including poverty and climate change, I want to fix it...and putting me into poverty with a global climate tax doesn't do that. Problems are NEVER solved by governments or corporations. Individuals solve them.
g=government spending which comes via taxes (zero or less net gain) and is not competitive with the free market.
In Hayeck's the road to serfdom governments plan and fail and demand more power and taxes saying see i told you there was a problem until you end up like Europe in ww2.
Need = wanting someone else's stuff.
Greed = keep your own stuff
compassion= govt mindset of facilitating the transfer.

It is too late to wait!
People in power who refuse to mitigate climate change are committing crimes against humanity.
They are endangering the lives of 7 billion people, in order to satisfy their own selfish interest.

gdp=c+i+g
c= consumption by demand for goods
i=investment to create goods in demand
g=government spending which comes via taxes (zero or less net gain) and is not competitive with the free market.

thanks for that equation :)

@kanechi100
you forgot a very important part of the GDP equation.
GDP= C + I + G + (Nx- Ni)
C= Consumption by consumers
I= Investment
G= Government Spending
Nx= Net Exports
Ni= Net Imports
The Nx-Ni part is in the negatives due to our huge trade deficit. This ALL must occur within a given Fiscal Year.
A used car 5 years old bought and sold THIS year does not count. But a New 2010 FORD vehicle sold by FORD does count towards GDP.

you are correct. I was trying to keep it simple.
Government intervention via nationalism can change this fast in unpredictable ways depending on the path of least resistance politically. Good point.
