  • I really need help my blood parrot (only 1) never comes out of his pot and i have had him for over a year now, im dont want to get another one because it will just probably hide to. I dont know what to do any advice

  • what type of food do you feed them

  • @095340002

    Hikari Cichlid bio-gold... it's great!

  • @ninaaustintx how did you get the blood parrot to be so red cause mine only get red at night

  • have u got real plants in there???

  • My new blood parrot fish are always hiding.I just got them. They never come out.(Sigh)

  • They will.... promise! Mine would hide for a good 2 or so months. They still hide when my husband or strangers come up to the tank. I have had them for years and they definitely recognize people. I posted a newer video of them eating from my hands. They are VERY social/aggressive fish. When I'm leaning inside the talk to clean it, I often get attacked and have to wave them away from me. Thank goodness they ave those poor little deformed mouths and can't bite hard, LOL!

  • have u ever kept Parrots with malawi cichlids? my brother is just starting up his 500 litre tank and has a large plec and a young parrot in the new tank now but is planning on adding around another 15 malawi's from his smaller tank soon.would they get on okay? nice tank btw

  • Thank you!

Yes, I have kept them with different cichlids and they were fine. As long as they all started off small in size, they did well. Now, if I added baby cichlids now, they would have to swim into the rocks pretty quickly to make it!

  • how do you get them to eat out of your hand. mine are scared of my hand

  • how do they breed?

  • They breed like any other fish; mate and lay eggs.... I have had eggs once...they were duds (sterile). I believe they can breed, however. They are a mix between a Red Devil cichlid and Severum cichlid. I need to make another video... mine eat out of my hand. They are great fish.

  • Now that is a charming tank.

  • what a nice fish tank :)

  • Very red parrots. Nice to see some good coloring in these fish.

Come and check out mine, they are a bit smaller though, lol.

  • good looking fish. do they grow slowly

  • Thanks! Mine have had eggs once, but they were all sterile... which is fine. I don't think I could catch the babies if they had them and it would get too dirty with too many fish :)

  • dear nina, Beautiful fishtank. I would love to own one as nice but I have five others to take care of, and a turtle. Dont change a thing Jeffrey

  • Pretty parrots.. Have any of yours bred. i have 2 parrots..ones a baby though, and a green severum, gold severum, baja sharks, danios, and some other assorted cichlids and then of couse 2 other tanks with my Oranda's and Black moores...i LOVE my fishy's!!!
