I'm more spiritual than religious with a Catholic & Christian background, ok? I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 8 years & he is an Atheist. I love him & he loves me, we don't argue or debate over our beliefs because to each their own. What good does it do anyone to argue & fight over this? If someone goes to heaven but all the people they care about go to hell, that creates a rift between the two realms. Can people from heaven visit hell? Are you trapped in one place for eternity? What if you want to go to hell for a few years? Does god take responsibility for any of the things that have happened? Who knows?

Okay, off from that. I have to admit, the atheist was kinda acting like a douch, but neither side was open minded in the debate (if you could call it a debate). It was in that book; which is in no way a religious document as many famous church leaders were portrayed as being in hell within the text; that modern day hell was thought up. the distinction between scientific evidence and faith are two completely different things. This is what drives the religion and what binds the community of believers. Science offers reasonable explanations to many of our questions, and science has cures for many aliments. Science isn't afraid to say it doesn't know and scien...ce isn't afraid to look for answers. Religion seeks to keep people in subjugation and claims that everything is the will of God. Religion demands obedience and punishes thinking. Science seeks answers, religion looks for excuses, which do you prefer?

If jesus was a god then he could not possibly die for us because he is a god and cant die only transform him self to his original form in heaven so his death was a way to go back home. Now it would be a sacrifice if he spent eternity in hell for us then and only then can his crucifiction can be considered a sacrifice

I think the real issue is interpersonal, alleged christians and alleged atheists that consistently agrue about this with each other are missing out on life,... The problem with this line of reasoning is first we have to accept that there is a God that send people to hell for sinning in the first place instead of assuming there's a God that send people for hell for sinning. Okay, off from that. I have to admit, the atheist was kinda acting like a douch, but neither side was open minded in the debate (if you could call it a debate). There is no exchange of ideas, there is not acceptance of another viewpoint. Nothing can be gleamed from any of these arguments if the two sides do not, at least slightly, respect each others views. My opinion: the was things are, there is no end in sight.

And I like the Jokers ideas, but truthfully, the church didn't make up hell; a pissed off man named Dante did. Remember Dante's Inferno? It was in that book; which is in no way a religious document as many famous church leaders were portrayed as being in hell within the text; that modern day hell was thought up. The reason why he wrote this book? He was pissed at the pope. Thoughts? Questions? Doesn't matter; there will be no end to this argument as long as either side exists.

the distinction between scientific evidence and faith are two completely different things. This is what drives the religion and what binds the community of believers. Adversity such as this proves how heartless people have become. and great yeah, there is no evidence of the claims he makes (however there is some pysical evidence say noahs arc, thats pretty real) but there is no evidence proving against it so I don't get why non belivers are so scared and ignorant (hence the non handshaking)

The problem with this line of reasoning is first we have to accept that there is a God that send people to hell for sinning in the first place instead of assuming there's a God that send people for hell for sinning. But his idea of "reason" seems to be proselytizing "the gospel" onto the atheist without addressing the points that the atheist brings up. Unfortunately, the 'free will' gospel which Pastor Steve is feeding the atheist in this video is not true. We don't get to Heaven, or saved, based on our acceptance of Christ, or faith, or repentance, or anything. We get to Heaven if, and only if, God chooses us, and applies the Word to our heart.
In God's salvation plan, the salvation plan of the Bible, God is sovereign, and saves whom He will; in man's salvation plan, man has a choice in salvation. The latter is wrong and leads to damnation.

the commandment actually says "לֹא תַעֲנֶה בְרֵעֲךָ עֵד שָׁקֶר", which translates roughly to "Thou shalt not bear false witness" Not "don't lie".
It means don't lie in court, don't accuse someone falsely. it Does NOT mean don't lie in general, Ever.
It annoys me to no end when self proclaimed religious folk get the scripture wrong.
You say this is your holy book, the word of God no less, then don't misquote it!
