Almost everyone that had the EV1 wanted to keep it, but the cars had to be turned in, then GM destroyed them, I would by the volt the day it was for sale
PSB 1260 lead-acid batteries lasted over 50,000 miles in the EV1 (probably woulda lasted 100K, but GM crushed them), without help of a genset. ALMOST ALL LEAD-ACID BATTERIES ARE RECYCLED!! There's nothing else you can do with them.
Phoenix has very little chance of survival. As a startup, their vehicles are not only way overpriced, but the company has almost no chance of making a profit for years. Their products carry no warranty and the big auto companies will soon follow with products. I wouldn't invest a dime in Phoenix.
Just a concept... One BILLION to prove to the world the EV1 Couldn't succeed in the marketplace, when ALL it needed was a better battery, which was already on on the bench... The VOLT? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
There Is nothing ground breaking about this car. It is a hybrid dressed up as an EV.

This is such a scam. If GM wanted to make a 40-mile-range EV with a range extender, they could do it with lead-acid batteries.

yes, but lead acide battery life is short and cannot be fully recycled

50k is just not ENOUGH for a car, think about it

Thats why Phoenix Motors is better.
Unlike Tesla Motors, and Like GM, they plan to design an affordable Series Plugin Hybrid.
Unlike GM, they don't have the sunk costs that GM has, and they already have near exclusive rights to the best battery technology on the market.

All they gotta do is plunk in a small petroleum generator, and scale down the battery size.
