I'd recomend going as there was over 1000 reenactors there last year. This is a sad video. What was he dooing filming in the senerio? A combat camera man would not be armed.

you shouldnt touch another reenactors weapon unless you have permission because you dont know if they have it on them for the tactics or this display it may not be blank adapted and also walter p38 are expensive

Only high ranking SS officers, (Ex: Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler), and the SS soldiers at camps knew about it, and not all of them were proud of doing it but they did it anyway because they would be charged with treason and possibly sentenced to death.
You have to figure that alot of these people know the reenactors or are kids that just laugh at people falling down and find simple things funny. They have no understanding of what this is portraying. Also, some people are just ignorant. Pure and simple.

I am a "Progressive Reenactor" which means I stray away from the guys who have huge tents filled with coolers and other modern day crap. I spend countless hours researching every facet of life of a soldier would experience. What and how they ate, what they wore, how they slept, etc. I do it for myself as an amatuer historian and to educate the public. I cant reproduce it all but strive to become accurate as possible. War is not fun, understanding some of the things soldiers had to go through is.
I have had vets thanking me for keeping the memories of soldiers alive, some have disagreed. BTW eyederrick if you dont like what you are watching then dont watch. Nobody made you watch it and do something better with your life than to criticize something a lot of people appreciate. I understand freedom of speech, but flaming other people for something they enjoy that has absolutely no effect on you is not constructive. Vets who are reenactors would view what you say as a slap in thier faces.

if youre in the US it varies by states,where I am in NY you have to be sixteen to handle black powder...so you can be in a group you just cant shoot lol,but for other states its differant like in PA I think its 14 or 15...also every group in differant so you have to take that into account

Most of the general public believe that all germans who lived during ww2 were nazis and loved hitler. Not all germans agreed with hilter or fought for hitler. Some fought for the same reasons americans and other countries did, family, defend the country, were drafted, and so on. The SS were the people who thought hitler was the best man ever and swore oaths to serve for him.

We are teaching the public history of the second world war; how they dressed, fought, ate, lived in that time. How else to learn better than to watch a "real life" battle, And to see the weapons they used, and how each side fought. Sometimes they aren't always men, women also reenact, same with teens like my sell. So i don't see how reenacting is pathetic!

Blank rounds. Usually the guns are modified to accomodate a blank round. Bolt actions are not modified.

Most of the general public believe that all germans who lived during ww2 were nazis and loved hitler. Not all germans agreed with hilter or fought for hitler. Some fought for the same reasons americans and other countries did, family, defend the country, were drafted, and so on. The SS were the people who thought hitler was the best man ever and swore oaths to serve for him.

We are teaching the public history of the second world war; how they dressed, fought, ate, lived in that time. How else to learn better than to watch a "real life" battle, And to see the weapons they used, and how each side fought. Sometimes they aren't always men, women also reenact, same with teens like my sell. So i don't see how reenacting is pathetic!

Honor system is how you tell if your shot or not. We use real rifles with blanks. When you see someone shooting at you well you take your hit.

Some people cant afford working rifles....some buy dummy rifles or maybe his rifle broke during the event and doesnt have a replacement.
