It's amazing how certain songs like this are so truly representative of that special time and place in our lives that you can close your eyes and imagine dancing under the dome in all it's glory
This song was playing in the cassette deck when my boyfriend, Tim, and I were on our way to the beach at Kiawah Island, SC...in 1982...we were hit head on! Tim, the cassette and I survived; but my little car bit the dust!
Wow - what a mind scramble! I thought Any Trouble were going to be as big as any band in 80-81. Their disappearance left me longing. Thanks for filling the gap.
Great voice, great instrumentalists, probably good that they didn't go the same way as George and the other fella. The one he did with Christine was the biz as I recall...smokey voice...brilliant pairing
Thank you! Now 2009 can come - it will be my year! And I hope Clive Gregson will always write and sing like this. Every Any Trouble song is great - the most underrated band ever!
Tis is certainly 1 of the great songs. In Oct 2007 I saw Any Trouble reformed for 1 night in London and it is seriously the greatest night of my life. Why it was not filmed I will never know. I spoke to Clive beforehand and said he had better play this - he did!
@carlosmiller I used to work there (The Saint) and for years this song rang in my head. I never knew the name ... just the hook. I asked a few questions and now I'm just loving this... hearing it brings up a lot of memories. You're right... it was a morning song...sleaze...I remember you would hear Cock Robin (when your heart is weak)around that time too. Thanks for posting this!!
Wow! Was about to post "THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have been looking for this song on YouTube for so long" - thinking that I would be the only post. Can't believe there are others who love this too. I've never met anyone else who's even heard of it. Nice to know I'm not alone.
First heard this in 1983 (memories of long, hot heatwave summer)and it has stayed in my Top 5 favourite songs ever since!
I have it on 45 vinyl (!!) but have never found it online to download.
I have been trying to track down this song for the last few years, and had almost begun to believe I had only imagined it. Thank you for bringing back such a beautiful song.
I had this album in the 80's when it came out. It was lost when I moved and asked Clive Gregson (Any Trouble Singer) via email if they'd ever release this on CD. He said unfortunately not, the rights would always be tied up, but he did send me an autographed pic. I did find another LP 5 years ago and made a CD. Still playing "I'll Be Your Man", Time Does Not Heal", & "Touch & Go".
Thank you !! For more than 2 decades I've tried to find this one... couldn't remember the group name... Thank YOU! (again)

you are welcome! It's such a beautiful song! I first heard at a club in NYC in late 80's.

New York really? Pretty good for a band from Crewe, England!
christl1912 3 years ago
Yes. There was a club where they played this kind of music after 6 am (called morning music).
What a wonderful time it was!
carlosmiller 3 years ago
