The Bible teaches to be kind towards others, it's a book of stories that keep people in line and with a moral attitude. I believe everyone has to believe in something greater than themselves. It was the people who helped him back on his feet, it wasn't God. God didn't reach his hand down and drop a car in front of him and give him a job. I go to central every Sunday with my family, and I am not convinced.
I'm an atheist and I help people. I condemn God and religion in general. You're saying that God has control over people's actions? I'd say that's refuted one of Christianities greatest dogmas, free-will. Fucking religion bafoons.
What?!?!?! Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? A Christian saying that God will control your life if you allow him to. Even if there was a God, I sure as fuck wouldn't want him controlling my actions. You are starting to sound more like a Satanist than a Christian.
@Victordove God Doesn't control us, we have free will to do anything we want. His love is so amazing that out of relationship with him we just want to be close and seek him, and the result is blessing and covering. God is not a controlling father, but a father with open arms ready to love only if you want, and if you don't want him you don't have to have him in your life.

It wasn't God. It was that woman he mentioned that showed him "Hey, there are people out there that care about you. You just need to buck up and go find them." Why everyone claims its God who did this I just don't know. What exactly did God do? Nothing- it was everyone else, the people around him.
And who do you think put compassion in that woman's heart for a homeless man? That kind of behavior isn't natural for humanity. When was the last time you reached out to someone who's ostracized in your community?
I work in a School. I do it all the time with wayward kids. Are you saying that being someone that actually cares about people means your are not 'natural'? What the hell are you talking about? God made her care? What the hell...
Well, I believe people are selfish and pretty rotten for the most part. The fact that compassion even exists is a miracle to me. I'm not saying God necessarily made her care, but my Bible tells me that God IS love, and so, without Him, it wouldn't exist.
OH YEAH! *fistpump* I'm so glad to hear someone say that, when other arguments of such have gone out for... pages at a time. -- Also, great last statement, I agree fully with that. It takes a strong person to believe in something, when there are some people who rather believe in nothing at all.

It's God who moves people to do things like that.

That's the point of being a christian. Giving the Lord control over your life. He wont control you, cos you haven't given him your life.
