SNOBBISH?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Fuck her...Oops!Sorry...get carried away...Well,there's one thing for sure,we aren't all very posh, pompous people who live in mansions...And that guy thinks that the British are the source of all the world's problems?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bush was the source of some of them...but then Blair followed...DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I love being a German living in UK....I am also amazed how German I am when saying in a typical German arrogant way UK is just about to drop of the list of the Top10 industrial countries in Europe....I also do not want to start argueing about the national football team which once has been invented here....Amazing!!!!
if i was asked to characterise a country i'd just say i couldnt. there's no such thing as a national character. How can 60 million people be well educated, pompous, stuffy snobs. U yanks watch too much tv
You're absolutely right in my opinion. Half of the people we interviewed said that they didn't know, or that any adjective is a stereotype, but I only made this video to introduce new adjectives for people learning English as a foreign or second language.
Ok I can see how hard it must be to interview people. I was just suprised by so many negative comments. Apart from this video I like the rest and it is something I can use in my classes.
I actually agree with you. The British came out the worst of the 5 (Americans, French, Italians, Germans) only because we didn't have enough time to interview a hundred more people in order to get usable positive footage. This is not because everybody was so negative, it just means that our sample was rather negative. We have to interview at least 10 people to get one that is usable, for a large variety of reasons which I can not go into here.
All we did was interview this question for three weeks and then we used the best people we had. It didn't matter what the stereotype was. But there IS one American who thinks the British are fair. I edited this with my friend from Liverpool.
well educated no just no

Yeah, but this just shows these guys haven't been to Britain. Pompous and snobbish? Try drunk, promiscuous and ready to fight all comers.

Ok fair enough, I just thought there could have been a couple more positive comments.

What the hell!! This is stereotyping!! What kind of English lesson is this? Sounds more like a political lesson!
tangerchica 3 years ago 2
All people make stereotypes. It's part of Real English. And no, there are no politics here, just typical cultural stereotypes.

I understand it's real english, however there is not 1 positive comment in this video. It's ridiculous.

They obviously haven't met any British people! They're the best and are friends for life.
