These people are not making major decision for their country nor are they helping them through rough the rough times their "subjects" are experiencing. I completely agree, Ray. Just this morning I was telling my sisters what a waste of money this entire wedding was. If he or the chick had any respect for Britain, they'd have a small wedding instead and give the funds originally allocated to pay for the wedding to charity or something like that. I mean, weren't British youths protesting just a few months ago over the increase in tuition fees? And now they're all happy to pay for this trivial wedding?

@TheTako400 Do you have any idea how much money the royal family bring into the economy through tourism? .. plus with a worldwide audience of around 2 billion watching the wedding i'm fairly sure that with that kind of advertisment the £ spend will be re-cooped ...and then some. Also on a more basic level this is tradition and part of British culture for about 1000 yrs, take it away and whats left? a McDonalds and Starbucks on every corner.

Tourism affects a minuscule amount of the population and is one of lowest contributors to the economy. So it isn't logically justified to spend ludicrous amounts of money on such a short term event.

@mynameiswoah There is stats on it, i did a assignment at Uni on it so they are out there. Thats a different argument, i understand people that don't believe in a hereditary Monarchy for moral reasons but not if people claim they are a drain on the tax payers (they supposably only cost us £1 each a year) also all we paid out for in the wedding was the security, not the wedding, the families covered that.
You know you'd be better put to use arguing the billions spend on unneccessary wars.

Surely people getting together like this is an improvement on the human condition, whatever that is? The fact that you went out yourself did you some good right? However you feel about the royalty you should take into account the historic and religious significance of it rather than just dismissing it because of the unfairness of it and other such things. I'm not 100% royalist but I enjoyed the wedding, mainly because it was so open to everyone, a national event shared and experienced by all. :)

@AmericanReject2012 You could say the exact same thing for The White House, NASA and the Moon landings, the American military and so many other things (on an American bias for obvious reasons of course) but it simply isn't true that everyone thinks in the same way. It would be a problem for sure if the homeless weren't helped but why not have both things? The British Royal family is the most famous in the whole world and I'm proud of that even if I don't follow their every move.Obama is the same
